  1. Aye. It’s like an Alfa Romeo…or Maserati…every afternoon is a Friday afternoon 😆
  2. Love the Italian craftsmanship here - the position dots aren’t even in line 🫣😂
  3. erm. 1980 ish Eko made Encore (Italy). Wasn’t fretless when I got it, but…y’know…pliers and stuff…
  4. Hercules and Ultimate stands 🫡
  5. It could have come from “Jagged Little Pill” sessions and I wouldn’t have been surprised. Not for me - I just think that stabbing guitar sounds bad, and it’s too loud.
  6. Just watching live At Madison Square Garden. these guys deserve whatever they get. Awesome.
  7. So the pedalboard that doesn’t pedal…
  8. I think I did once, threw it in the bin 😉 I absolutely do not blame the guy, anyone making money from music is a hero in my eyes Yeah - that’s an absolute p*sstake
  9. About Joe Dart or the basses? Joe Dart is a bit of a bass hero - very handy player. Just a modern day “Flea” - lots of “better” players, but Vulfpeck (and the 300 other side projects) have absolutely exploited modern day marketing tactics and really got their names out there. The basses are aimed at rich folk who aspire to play like Joe Dart. Rather than practice, they’ll spunk £2k on a bass to pretend to be him in the mirror. I await the ham fisted YouTube takes on “Dean Town” (originally played on a cheaper bass, through a bass cube) on the £2k monstrosity through a pristine Aguilar DB rig.
  10. Hard no from me. love Joe Dart. Hate the basses he’s putting out with EBMM. The stuff that “broke” the band was all a Mexi Standard Jazz and a Carlos Robelli $99 bass. I think through a Roland Bass Cube 100. 🙄
  11. I mentioned in another thread - the Gibson version I saw looked horribly put together when I saw one. Paint runs, bad sanding/finishing. Horrible.
  12. There’s something in me would be absolutely giddy about getting my hands on that… Love the look of the bison. Often look at the reissues
  13. Yeah, muddling through ten…or playing 4/5 to a decent standard 🤷🏻‍♂️
  14. All just wood and strings…we live and learn.
  15. yeah - “it’s sat unused” because I was actually at the precipice of not playing anymore. I also wrote a load of tunes for 5 string and had 2 stingray 5’s at the time. jeez…hindsight 20/20 etc. This bass would work so well for current band. in saying that. Gibson ripper win. such is life
  16. Looking at my pile of gear wondering how big a pile of trade fodder it would take… but someone will be getting a bargain, and I’ll have to watch as they succeed. great cab, great price.
  17. One of these has just gone on bass direct used for £1250, so this is a bloody bargain. Currently in a pst Vanderklay world. I had the vertical 212. These cabs are next level - never felt I’d owned a “special” speaker cabinet until I’d owned a Vanderklay (that includes Trace/SWR/Ashdown/EBS) - I only wish I had the asking price sat in the bank, because this would be mine.
  18. It’s mad - if you hear “you can do it” from Tragic Kingdom, very busy but clean as a whistle, then “hella good” - like 3 notes… he’s epic - and in my all time top 5 players. humble and chilled too. Dreamcar his recent project are amazing too.
  19. I think the “bb sound” is so evident on “No Doubt” and “Tragic Kingdom” by No Doubt - it’s an amazing bass sound - not harmed by Tony Kanal being an absolute monster. If you want to hear classic BB slapped - go for “No Doubt” and finger style “Tagic Kingdom” without a doubt (😉) it’s just his bb1600 with volume and tone wide open for the vast majority. a 414 through a decent amp (Tony Kanal uses Gallien Kreuger) can get close. I also have no recollection or record of who I sold my 1600 to 😞
  20. There’s something I got playing the 1600, a snap - when I had the 1300 (I think it’s for sale here currently) and other neck through basses I’ve owned - there’s a “bloom” or sustain to the notes you can’t kill off. I took the 414 to a rehearsal last month - and *that* sound was back - that’s why when I sold the 1600, I knew I’d survive - the 414 is remarkably close. i needed the cash and the 1600 Was worth a lot more money. id have another in a shot. After 26 years of playing/buying and 12 years of selling basses for a living (I left that world 10 years ago) - my preference is bolt on necked basses. All being said, my main bass currently is a set necked Gibson.
  21. I think I’ve said this before and been corrected. They “look” narrower or something. i don’t know - the 414 sounds and looks like a 1600, the 1600 to me is peak BB. I played a couple of 3000’s and they’re less exciting than I thought. The 1600 was easily the best bolt on bass I’ve ever played. So stupid to sell it. STUPID
