  1. A recent recording project has even fallen flat, I was 3/4 of the band…so it’s impossible with just 2 people. I’m actually booking vocal coaching and piano lessons. Really have got that far gone 😂
  2. I’ve done it for years @Al Krow and i’m tired of herding morons. Not all of them, but you get the idea.
  3. I’ve also noticed that I’m now out of the “band seeks bass player” age demographic on JMB etc. late 20’s/early 30’s. squarely out of that age range. Also, responding to folk and getting started but petering out quickly. Balls to it.
  4. That’s a lovely thing! wallet says no. Even at this lovely price.
  5. Yeah, I’ve stopped looking. that’s how hard it is.
  6. Bought an ampeg from me - absolutely ace, I ended up injuring myself so there was a delay in shipping. Then the courier was useless. Brilliant throughout - enjoy.
  7. They wanted 3 of us, draft in session folk for a “look”… Eric Hall was our “representative” - he was a repugnant individual. I looked upon it as a learning curve. Then Sunday Best offered us a deal and decided to spunk their budget on the rights to David Lynch’s back catalogue and future recordings so we were dropped. So. I left that band and started to be a dad, got married and started living.
  8. A gig in soho. Raymond Review. ”singer, keys and bass player stay, get rid of the drummer, guitarist and one of the violinists - they don’t look right” with a representative of Universal music. and Eric Hall. Knob. closest I ever got. 2007/8.
  9. I have to get an SR5 back at some point, that’s about it
  10. Nah. That didn’t work.
  11. Ok. Will try that out 🥴
  12. Balls to it. I keep messing, and I can’t come up with a chorus. This is me singing (into a microphone) for the first time in 16 years. I started this after talking to a mate who’s going through a rough time - we reminisced over simpler times and when all we had to worry about was enough beer to kill a tank and a kebab on the way home. When did life get so complicated. Anyhow - apologies for the annoying link issue, iPads and iPhones won’t play ball. https://on.soundcloud.com/eWrBuH41iriHBDbH6
  13. Me too. I also keep looking at my threadbare wallet for a reality check…sadly
  14. @Linus27 that SFG 72 is on my mind…I must admit. Would love it in a LPB/Ice Blue…
  15. I haven’t bought a new bass in about 7/8 months. Thats a record. I’ve bought and sold some auxiliary items, but I’ve sold loads. I haven’t got any money currently after an expensive renovation to the garden etc. so it’s most likely no new basses will happen in what’s left of 2023. And I’m literally doing nothing musically at the moment.
  16. I’ve started something. Absolutely hate my voice…maybe I need a field 😂
  17. Darth Vader’s BB
  18. Had a Japanese reissue years ago - swore that if and original one came up which looked “just right” I’d jump on it. This looks amazing. My Wallet says no. Gutted.
  19. Want this…might have to sell my 80’s D310 and just go for it.
  20. I’ve just listened to it…it’s heavy handed, a bit overproduced…(the Disturbed Version) sounds like it was from a film soundtrack?
  21. They also did a good version of “land of confusion” - proper band, saw them in around 2001 in Manchester, supported Marilyn Manson 🤓
  22. I’m in. Got something roughed out already. and I’ve got a 40 year old AKG mic sat on a stand 🫣
  23. I sat in the car singing today, forgot I can carry a tune… might be time to dig out one of the dusty old microphones for September also well done @Doctor J
  24. While driving around the Welsh countryside this summer, I shoved an “80’s” playlist on Spotify. The teenagers were listening to their own songs on headphones (depressing really, but I enjoyed the peace)… ABC - High and Dry. Yes, the Radiohead Song. oh wow.
  25. Great basses these.
