  2. There’s one where you can see the body next to it. It’s that one…goosed.
  3. Bought this last week, I don’t really know what was in my head as it would involve either butchering my old faithful Jazz…which I’m not going to do…or buying a new jazz which I really don’t want to do. there isn’t enough space in the cavity to fit a battery and I don’t want to rout the back of the bass. It’s come from Phill Mann’s overwater bass, and seeing how I love my Bartolini equipped Gibson I probably thought I’d shove it in my Jazz and be happy. But I hadn’t really thought about what I was doing when I messaged him and bought it. He kindly included some knobs and a jazz bell plate. You’ll need to solder a jack on and the battery clip - all diagrams included. If you’re adding to a jazz, it’ll need to be an edge mount jack socket. Would be a mega upgrade to any Sire bass, or a Fender Marcus Miller model, possibly Sadowsky Metro? I suspect there’s enough meat on the cables for it to be off the bell plate and be retrofitted to any 4 pot setup. Price includes shipping in the UK.
  4. https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/306232343113?mkcid=16&mkevt=1&mkrid=711-127632-2357-0&ssspo=KG610pbeQ-G&sssrc=4429486&ssuid=CbjbH9mRThK&var=&widget_ver=artemis&media=COPY States it’s an old bb300 its an early 1990’s bb300 neck and a 2000’s bb414 body. no hardware, looks like a fudged truss Rod repair and a cracked body… £100? anyone? No?
  5. Got this today… After much faffing…there isn’t enough space on the rear of the Ripper headstock to fit it - didn’t even think as it’s a massive frigging paddle of a thing… I haven’t fitted it…I swapped with another basschatter who needed a different drop tuner id also bought in error/haste… Ah well. Lesson learned: Rippers don’t allow drop tuner fitting 🤣 This is the Musicman style one - I believe in Nickel.
  6. I’ve found the sound…it’s exactly what I remember it to be - I’m sure there are 100’s of “better” pedals for this job… but it’s for 40 seconds of an intro and 40 seconds of an outro and it’s PERFECT for that. Had a bit of a mess about with it and it does have some genuinely useful sounds in there. It will live in the studio and be pulled out occasionally. Happy days.
  7. so Fiasco Jam went well - shook the ring rust, did 15 songs…only 3 took a second run. I think that shows that all the work we’d done in 2024 was worth it. Hopefully album starts in the next month. did another “just bodies” tonight. New song called “Shadows” which was sent to me and drummer this morning was learned during the day - really awkward downstroke strumming pattern (not my comfort zone…) but we definitely got it near to “right” after 4 plays through, just listening back to it now.
  8. Ballsed up. Bought the wrong one. i need a BT-1 (short Key) happy to do a straight swap even if yours is tatty (it’s for a 50 year old Gibson) this would work for a JMJ or similar. Bought off facebook and delivered today; it’s brand new. £70 plus postage in UK
  9. No it was a weird ambience thing. Thinking on…it may have been the red (guitar) version…
  10. Mandela effect… ha. See what I did there. i used one of these years ago and recall a certain sound it did. I’m not sure it does it 🫣
  11. I’ve found an ax1b after a while of searching… Haven't had any time with it yet… A quick scroll through the menus may suggest that I’ve mis-remembered it’s abilities
  12. I’ll level with you… I haven’t bought from a guitar shop for a long time, so I’ve no horse in the race. i actually don’t go to guitar shops at all, unless its a totally last minute “need a patch cable” moment. I’m more than aware of Fender GBI (the joke being they should’ve been called Fender UK) and Gibson Europe taking over from rosetti in the UK…I was dealing with Arbiter/Rosetti when the changes happened and have mates who worked for both. but yeah, I’ve no clue what I’m on about and hadn’t considered any of your take on it when i wrote that little post. i’ll go and sort my head out.
  13. I hope the UK distributors now see that the little shops should have fender and Gibson as well as their other stuff… instead of chasing “mega bucks” chains. anyhow - Thomann…think that juggernaut will carry on a bit longer.
  14. I’m glad you’ve bought it, genuinely messaged Lee after some wine… ”Trav, you know you don’t use 5’s” 😂😂😂
  15. Another rehearsal with “Just Bodies” seems like we’ve settled the tempo debates… apparently booked in to record 5 tracks on 26th April 😆 Meant to be rehearsing with “Fiasco Jam” on Saturday for the first time since January. That’ll be weird.
  16. Now then… I might use that for recording the album…
  17. Where’s the fun in that 😆 I WANT A NEW AMP 😉
  18. I had both… I still have the 414.
  19. Another pedal I took from my guitarist - it’s mega, but I just don’t have a use for it. Boxed, very clean - has been on a pedalboard so has Velcro on the bottom which can come off. £105 posted in UK £100 collected from me in Manchester
  20. Bought from my guitarist in a fit of “I have to own it” - but the reality is, I bought it from him when he bought the bigger version so it’s too much when we’re playing together and with a really great keys player in the band who’s started using vintage synths as well as a stage piano - I’ve no use for it. It’s been on a pedalboard so has Velcro attached, but will come off. it’s boxed, manuals etc. £125 posted in the UK. £120 Collected from me in Manchester
  21. Ah what a miserable old git I’m becoming. it was nice to be out of the comfort zone, and in retrospect a bit of fun which people seemed to enjoy. I need to stop taking myself so seriously.
