Can you tell us a bit more about how this works, please? I might be interested in a visit to the White Swan. Do you need to take your own amp? What about taking music - would that be frowned upon? How does it actually work - do you walk in and say that you'd like to play bass to, say, Morcheeba "The Sea", and hope that other people can join in straight away!? I'm "playing" stuff like Coldplay "Yellow", Selecter "On my Radio", Walter Trout "Go the Distance", REM "Losing My Religion" - what would the reaction be? It would be the first time I'd played along with a group - very scary prospect! Steve
To be honest i think is a great idea jam with other people but not when you have not experiences at all, that's why i have open this topic. Play alone on a cd is totally different then play with other serious and real musicians. In my opinion i don't think is good for who like me play since only one year or less, all the time alone. I have seen lots of jam session (not as musician) and most of time i have seen only great and with full experiences musicians able just take the instrument and play everything is possible in the world without any problem and in a great way as well. Anyway thanks God every person is different so the reactions to the events are always different but for me could be very frustrated. Sometime I feel frustrated just because i am not able to catch a bass line on a cd, i can imagine try to put some notes together with other real musicians and maybe with also some people watching what you are doing.... That's why i think that is a good idea is start before playing with people wich are more or less at the same your level and then grow step by step. Maybe I am wrong but this is my opinion. Anyway i think i'll go to see maybe next tuesday (without bass) so maybe i'll change idea. PS I didnt find information about the pub can somone post the correct address please? Thanks Antonio

Hi guys, I am a bit shy to open this topic but is always better to try in the life....;-) then the story is: I am Italian i live in UK since 2 years and I am almost 33 years old, I have started to play the bass only one year ago (I know maybe it's too late but better later then never!!!) and how all of you can imagine I have not experiences at all to play with other musicians which is, I think, the best and the quick way to improve and to enjoy the music. Sometime I play with a friend of mine at home (he is pianist since 20 years) but he is not patient and so most of time we have arguments becuase he wish I play like him..... STUPID!!! so at the end of the day I prefer play my bass alone and in peace trying to learn all songs that i like without any pressure. Most of time i use tabs, cd or watching videos on Youtube but to be honest i am a bit tired to play just for myself, that's why i have open this topic. I pretty sure that there is not anymore time to become another Marcus Miller or a Victor Wooten and thanks God I have a good job as well that give me the possibility to live in a pretty good way so i don't need to play if i want make some money but what I wish is just play for fun and share with other people the passion for the music. That's it. The concept i guess is very simple! With this topic I am trying to find some beginner musician in the Manchester area which wants start with me a kind of challenge and see if starting just from a joke we can build something cool. Any age, any race, any religion and any musical taste is accepted.... the only important thing is that you want play and have fun! Anyway, my name is Antonio, if you are interested about my idea, you can write me a PM on the forum or you can also reply to the topic and i will contact you. The main idea is grow together in the music, I have not a built project in my mind, I repeat I want only play with somone and have fun....of course if after all someday we will be also able to have a great band, become famous and make also a world tour, would be great!!! Come on Musicians....let's groove! PS Sorry for my bad English, that anyway is better then my bass play!!! Antonio

Hi all, I am going to put on the market my Fender Jazz Marcus Miller IV Strings MIJ, I think everyone knows it but anyway you can read all features here: http://www.fender.com/products//search.php?partno=0257802321 The bass is one year old in mint condition used only at home, bought from Dawsons in Manchester. I'll sell with the original Fender Gig Bag more or less like this one: http://www.elderly.com/fmic/items/images/5...3SB_gig-bag.jpg and with set of DR String Hi-Beam put on less the one month ago (medium 45-105). The price new of the bass is more or less between £679 (gak.co.uk) and £799 (Dawsons UK). I am selling it for not less then £480 plus delivery cost in UK but to be honest the pick up in Manchester area would be great I don't really trust to send it. I could be interested also about some trade but only with one of this 2 models: Musicman Stingray 4 strings (rosewood fretboard and natural color prefered) in this case of course i'll pay an honest difference on it. or a trade with another model of Fender Jazz Bass MIA or MIJ (only passive and 4 strings) also in this case rosewood fretboard and natural color prefered. If the value of the bass offered will be higher then mine i'll pay a difference...but everything it depends from the offers. In both cases I am not interested in fretless basses. Some pictures of the Marcus Miller here: http://www.schizzechea.it/MM/MM01.jpg http://www.schizzechea.it/MM/MM02.jpg http://www.schizzechea.it/MM/MM03.jpg http://www.schizzechea.it/MM/MM04.jpg If you are interested send me a PM I can also send more pictures. I am based in Stockport - Manchester. Thank you! Antonio

Hi guys i am not sure yet about this swap because i am quite happy about the sound that i have right now but the same i am just curious to see if someone could be interested in that swap. I have bought in May an amp and a cab both Ashdown as you can see in the picture below: http://www.novasolution.com/ashdown.jpg I have really a depeer sound right now and i am quite happy but i am thinking the same to have something a little bit different, so i am wondering if there is someone that could be interested in a swap with my Ashdown MAG 115 Deep Cabinet (Evo II) (here you can read the features http://www.dolphinmusic.co.uk/page/shop/fl...oduct_id/37145) with a Ashdown MAG 210T Deep Cabinet (Evo II) (http://www.dolphinmusic.co.uk/page/shop/flypage/product_id/37149). My cab is new, used only at home (i have not a band), the only little problem is that on the back there is little hole in the wood i bought it so from the shop and for this reason i have got a great discount on it, anyway the hole doesn't have any influence on the sound of the cab which is perfect. Anyway because I want be 100% honest and because i have got a discount on the cab, i can also pay in the swap a little ammount of money (max 20£). So my Ashdown MAG 115 Deep Cabinet (Evo II) + 20£ for an Ashdown MAG 210T Deep Cabinet (Evo II). Please don't contact me if you have something different because i am not interested. I am in Manchester area (Stockport) and if someone is interested can send me a PM. Eventually the swap will be done face to face so both of us would be able to see and try the cabs. Thank you

Hi, I bought from Guitaremporium in April.....a P-Bass re 62 Vintage White which is: http://www.schizzechea.it/MM/p3.jpg I only have added a pickup ashtray and some D'Addario flatwound string. I am really happy about it. I think that at the end the Fender Precision is THE BASS! To be hoenst i don't know the difference beetwen CIJ and MIA because i never own a MIA bass but i have 2 Fender CIJ and to be honest they are perfect! I think the difference is about the pickups and woods, my pbass has Japan Vintage pickups but you can buy also the bass with USA pickups, about the wood i am not an expert so i don't know, but what i can say for sure is that the way Fender Japan works is really great and the quality standard is really high. I don't know if i was just lucky but Pbass is not less then more expensive Fenders. About Guitaemporium evertyhting was absolutely perfect, great comunication, great price and fast delivery!! My bass was not in stock, so it was orderd by GE in Japan, after less then 2 weeks the bass was in my hands!! I hope this help!

Hi again here you can see some pictures (macro) about my bass guitar....maybe with pictures is more easy to understand the problem. http://www.schizzechea.it/MM/Macro01.jpg http://www.schizzechea.it/MM/Macro02.jpg http://www.schizzechea.it/MM/Macro03.jpg http://www.schizzechea.it/MM/Macro04.jpg As you can see in the pictures the head of the truss road does not exist in my opinion so that's mean for me that the bass is broken! Is what i guess wrong? Any help would be appreciated! PS Sorry if the pics are too heavy but is a little part of the bass so I left the pictures in a good high resolution Thanks
