1. I have 3 questions Ladies and Gentlemen , I am having trouble understanding current speaker trends relating to Bass Cabs. Are Neo speakers designed to be used with high power amps ( 500W + ) ? Are the new Ferrite speakers light weight or are the new cabs lighter than the 80's 90's era cabs ? And finally are the new Ferrite loaded cabs designed for use with low power amps ? These may seem silly questions but have plagued me for weeks Any clarification will be greatly appreciated. Thanks Wade
2. Bugger, thats my B'day too and have a party planned ! and unfortunately its not a Bass Party
3. It's definitely worth spending the extra few quid on secondhand goods as the small increase in price can make a huge difference in quality, just my 2 pence, Happy hunting !

7. I had the pleasure off testing an Amp through these Cabs and managed to rattle the rafters in Tims Bass cave last weekend, even with a low wattage amp these cabs push loads of air and deliver serious bass. Buy with confidence , Tims a great Bloke with great gear for sale.
8. Wow ! This brings back memories , my brother gigged one of these with his Soldano sp-77 and it was mega huge ! These are built well and have some serious power. There is a couple of nice pre's for sale that could match up with the kittyhawk for an all tube beast. Glwts

10.
Apologies for the delay in getting back on this. Things got a little hectic this week as i ended up in hospital, and when i got home earlier today i found my place had been burgled. I'm not really physically or mentaly in a possition to do anything on this at the minute, however i will get back on it once im not puking my guts up every 5mins cause of meds I've talked to a few places, including the Ley Arms mentioned above, but so far they all seem to be a little on the expensive side, unless we get the numbers to help spread the cost a bit
Hope they didn't steal your bass ?
11. Someone buy this and take it to a pub !! ...and melt the contents
12. Always wanted one of these , loads of chat about these on talkbass. glwts
13. Good price for a one cab solution !
14. I have used a Buster 200 into a Gen 2 compact and out of 3 gigs in a pub only 1 of those I had enough volume. The guitarist had a Mesa Lonestar 1 x 12 combo and the drummer wasn't a heavy hitter. If you have 2 Cabs that would be a better starting point. The Barefaced ( neo ) )cabs needs lots of Watts to get them moving. I would try and use well above the minimum recommended watts of the barefaced cabs.
15.
Not worth the grief. I purchased a headless bass kit, like OP's, and the neck pocket was routed at a strange angle. They helpfully threw a bunch of hard wood veneer into the kit, because they clearly knew the routing was piss poor. Mine came from Canada, and I didn't fancy swallowing the cost of sending it back, for them to then send me another junker kit. Lesson learned. The hardware was utter sh*te as well, for good measure. Two no-name soapbars, tiny pots, cheap jack... junk. The bridge needed the tuning mechanism de-burred before two of the adjusters would even turn. Junk. The black paint on the bridge came off when you looked at it. Did I mention this was junk? Basically, if I ever finish it, I will end up with one of those beyond cheap headless basses you see on Ebay under the 'Maestro' brand (and countless others). The body is wider and more V-shaped than a Steinberger. It is ironic that Ned Steinberger came up with the design he wanted to use space-age materials, construction techniques and precision to make a better instrument. Remove these three elements and replace them with crap wood, a clunky neck joint, bad fretwork and no single bit of routing aligning with any other bit of routing and you have this bass kit. Ok, I'm ranting, but check out some of the other junk they sell. Look at the pickups, then the pickup routes, then the pickups again in this creation. Also, admire the neck pocket dimensions and the heel dimensions. What the hell?
Thanks Meddle, you may have just saved a few of us from buying firewood.
16. Cheers chaps, the shorty looks ok.
17. Hi everyone, does anyone have any experience with these bass kits ? http://www.byguitars.com/product/82.html I am looking for a bass to keep in the car so I can practice when I get the chance and thought this could be ok. Cheers
