1. This did it for me http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iQXgfD0UKIY
2.
Where do these people all hide out when not an that show.
Manchester
3. I did realise after posting that what I was after is a mixer, but it seems a bit overkill jsut so I can listen to a song and my bass.
4. I don't even know if the title makes sense but it's all I could think of. Is there anything that will let me listen to the noise/songs coming from two different sources. For example. I'd like to be able to play my bass when my Dad's in bed and a lot of what I do is playing along to a song or drum track. Is there any way I could feed the signals from the amp and laptop/drum machine into a single unit that I could the plug my headphones into? So I have the output signals from my amp and whatever else I'm using coming through one set of headphones.
5. I'll have to wait till I get paid to pop in. I wasn't looking for advertising lol. Would it be cool if I asked to put a gig poster up in there do you reckon?
6. Sorry I couldn't make it yesterday Nick. I'll be sure to pop in soon though as I need a new set of strings. What do you guys stock?
7. For what it's worth Yamaha started out making Pianos. They moved to motorbikes later. Musicman - Solid, reliable, punk Status - Not interested at all. Prefer more traditional looking basses Warwick - Again not interested. Always associated them with people who play hard rock. Played one, wasn't blown away. Gibson Thunderbird/Flying V - Heavy. Form over function Spector - Again, never appealed to me. Wal - Don't really see what all the fuss is about. Fender Precision - Ask somebody to draw you a bass and they will probably draw this. Dependable, solid, good sound. Punk. Seems to be the current 'bass of choice' for the hip bands out there Fender Jazz - The smart choice. Which is why I have one. Fender Telecaster - Never heard or played one. The Telecaster design on a bass looks pants IMO. Head is way too small. Fender Jaguar - Look really small. Always thought they were good for girls because of this. Rickenbacker Yamaha - Good basses for the money. Most feel a little small, but good range of tones. Ibanez - Played an Ibanez guitar - don't want to play an Ibanez bass. Alembic - Who? Lakland - Never heard/played or seen one. Can't say I'm overly bothered about trying one.
8. What do you call a sensible offer Davo?
9. Great playing and great tone. Not helping my GAS
10. If I could afford it I'd snap your hand off right now.
11. Have you got a picture of the de-fretted no name bass neck?
12. I've never been in there. The one time I went it was shut. I'll pop in when I get chance, at the minute I'm without transport, but I live across from the Hospital and have a day off tomorrow so I might pop in. Shall I walk in and ask for the Bass doctor?
13. Nothing like gloating is there! Do you have any sound clips?
14. Yeah. My main bass at the moment is an MIA Jazz '75 reissue and I've always wanted a fretless but I'm just not that bothered about the Jaco tone. Fretless P + flats = amazing
15. I'd love a Fender Precision Fretless, but I can't seem to find one anywhere - even on eBay. All I an find when I search are fretless Jazzs, which isn't what I'm after. So what's the deal are they rare? EDIT: I've found one on eBay
16. I am Indeed. I moved here from Yorkshrie two years ago and this is the first band I've joined since I moved. We're playing with Fuel for the Fire.
17. So we have our first gig in Peterborough at the Met Lounge on Friday November 6. The band is called Empire The guys advertised for a bassist thorugh this site so I know there's a few folk on here from P'boro. If you could make it that would be cool. Tickets are £4 advanced only. Oh yeah, if you want tickets PM me
18. I've now added another video of our soung 'This is The Right Time' I'd greatly appreciate it if you could let me know what you think.
19. My GF has just started uni at Nottingham so I'll make an effort to go to this place. Only place I've been to so far in Notts si the one in Victoria Centre. Wasn't too shabby.
20. Is this still for sale? I'll have a look to see if I can afford it having just forked out for a new backline. Paul Simonon got me playing bass so I've always wanted a P in this colour scheme.
21. Nice to see there's a few poepl on here who don't slate Ashdown, then. Got practice tonight so I'll have a play about with the sub-harmonic knob and see if I can hear a difference
22.
That would be easy to get rid of. You just need a cat to weigh it down.
Fixed
23. Joined a band the other week after answering an ad on here. Empire - Kick Off Here's the first video with me included. You can't really here the bass and the sound quality isn't great, but it was only a little camera. I feel I should add the band have been together six months and never had a bassist. They have about 12 original songs and I can write the basslines This one isn't quite done yet. Let me know what you think to the song. More videos to be added soon.
24.
We have one of ours played at the Galpharm stadium every time Huddersfield Town win, as a Halifax fan you can imagine my prediacament
Up the Terriers! What's the song now? I'm a season ticket holder but for the life of me can't remember it!
25. The feel of it can't be that different to a standard T-bird can it? So maybe it would be fine to try a standard one?
