1. saw that page and thought it didn't say much but now you flagged it up I have looked properly and see the links to more info DOH Thanks
 2. Just fitted one of these in my old mex jazz this morning and I must say it sounds pretty damn good I think I have sussed the controls but thought I would check the web site to see but they only show stuff for the latest incarnation the Pro jz which is different and there are no useable contact details so does anybody have or know where I can get a copy of any info on the JZ I already have the installation details. Cheers
 3.
Tecamp....I have a Tecamp Puma 350 head and i've had no volume issues at any gig i've played at. It's small and incredibly lightweight at just 2.4kg (5.3lbs). Running it at 4 ohms (like I do) you get 350w and if you use 8ohms it's 250w. Secondhand prices are easily within your budget. They sound excellent as well. Here's mine.......
I have same I run it into either a barefaced compact or barefaced S12t sounds great with either and if anyone wants a compact I got to sell mine
 4. Bought pair of wizard pickups and Audere pre amp from Ryan arrived promptly well packed and as described and my old mex jazz now sounds glorious
 5.
Also, I'd like to upgrade the bridge - I don't want anything 'fancy' like hipshot etc - just a decent, solid, reliable bridge. Any pointers there? Thanks all!
Tried a shaller 3d on my mex jazz hated it didn't sound like a jazz anymore didn't sound like anything so sold it and bought a Babicz bridge and its perfect sustain forever and more focused but still a jazz odd thing is the guy who bought the Shaller uses them all the time and the basses he's fitted them too including a jazz sound really good and I get the impression on here that the Babicz is a bit of a marmite job so unfortunately its a bit suck it and see I think
 6.
Try raising the pickups, so the magnets are closer to the strings.
on my old mex jazz I did the opposite and lowered the pickups ie moved them away from the strings resulting in an increase in bottom end and an increase in output, I tried this after some research into how different pickups work and reading that the shape of the magnetic field generated by the pickup needs to be taken into consideration when deciding how close to the strings to place the pickups. For those clever chaps that can prove im talking rubbish all I can say is it worked very effectively for me
 7. Playing tomorrow night at the Crown was supposed to be second gig with my 16 year old son on drums but landlord has just decided a 16 year old cant be on the premises after 9 pm so we are having to do it with a stand in nice guy good drummer but not familiar with half the songs but hey we'll get by. When I was told about this I was really pissed off told my son that if he didn't like us doing it with a stand in I would cancel and his reaction really caught me off guard rather than over reacting ( like I was) he told me "Don't be stupid you don't want to lose a gig just because I'm not allowed in there will be other gigs" where's the teenage angst where's the attitude wow there are times when I could just throttle him and then there are times when sat in my darkened room that he makes me so proud.
