1. I have a compressor pedal with 3 knobs that I can't really use, my Ashdown amp has 1 knob and it works
2. No good to me but Ash is a good guy to do business with !
3. I don't know where F is on my EUB so I'm no help at all, it varies
4. If you read their other blogs on North West Bands they managed to get a dep drummer AND a dep bass player for charity gig in September, with NO pay. Good luck to them. Look like a band who honour their commitments. Even if it feels like "muso abuse" to some.
5. Photo's of "the lovely young lady" or it didn't happen
6. I wouldn't do it, and have knocked a band back because of it, if I really, really wanted to be in the band and it was drop tune or not I think I'd go down the 5 string route.
7.
Do what I did,buy a Fender,use it for 34 years......
wot he said. I've never understood the appeal.
8. Thanks again Matt, fancy building one of these myself, like you say, smaller and more rugged, but can't find the components online, Thought my internet skills were ok but I've been proved wrong I didn't even find the pedal you directed me at
9. thanks ever so much Matt, that is exactly the beast I'm looking for exept I don't want to have to put battery's in it, not arsed at all about the LED
10. I have an almost pathological hatred of leads running across the stage and I'm looking for a latching footswitch to turn the reverb on or off with a detachable lead, ie, with a jack socket that you plug a lead into ( a long lead if need be) and send it to the on/off socket on the desk. I know they have existed cos' I've seen them, albeit years ago. I'm sure it's easy enougt to knock one up but surely this beast exists somewhere ? I have googled till I'm blue in the face. anyone any ideas ? thanks Les
11. having a similar problem to the OP, but I'm using an EUB so not the same amplifying nitemare's. Until I sort my rig out (twin channel bass amp or some other solution) I'm DI'ing the upright and putting it through the monitior's as my only way of hearing it, not ideal, we use yamaha monitors and they are very good for vocals but don't really cut it for the upright, unless you use a very high quality monitor ( my last band used peavey hi sis 2's as monotors, they were superb) I think your going to struggle.
12. I am ssssooooo gettin' this for christmas
13. replied Ryan
14. do you still have this ??
15. Rubbish Had to pull a hometown gig tonight cos' the drummers elderly mother has been ill in hospital for a few weeks now, he got the call to be by her bedside today cos' she was slipping away, gutted for him.
16. Sounds good. Just before we seal our deal I'm a total noob when it comes to DB strings, I want to put these on my Stagg EUB 3/4 size that I've had for 3 weeks. Are they going to be ok for this ?
17. Where in the North West are you ash ?
18.
I thought disputes about pricing were to be dealt with a bit more tastefully through a pm?! I took the price from basschat ads that I searched for, The first four thay came up were listed at £100 but after googling properly the cheapest I found a new one from a UK based seller is £128 so yes as it is without box will lower the price. Now dropped to £85 + postage.
My apologies, it really was meant as a heads up that you'd struggle to sell it at that price that's all. I've been researching preamps as a solution to a problem so at the moment I'm pretty clued up on prices etc. Les
19. I've been waiting for one of these to come up second hand cos' I want to try one but your far too close to the price of a new one if you don't mind me saying mate.
20.
but I find myself wanting to play other notes as well..
Blasphemy
21. Anyone know of one ? Cheers Les
22. Awsesome, thanks Bremen, was just about to pull the trigger on Doddy's reccomendation but I'll try the fx return method first. Actually have a Trace Elliot rig in my living room so will experiment on that, again, much obliged to you all for your help.
23. Thanks Doddy, that looks useful and won't break the bank while I'm pondering. Will get one ordered and try both methods on Friday. Any particular reason you don't think straight into the fx return is a good idea ? I've googled it and it seems to be an accepted way of just using the amps power module.
24. Thank you all for your ideas and experience. I'll have a squint at the gadgets you suggested. In the meantime does my idea of using the eq pedal and chucking it into the effects return on my amp not hold water ?? I have a gig on Friday and I'm not going to have time to do anything else before then.
