1. Me too, I'm left handed but play right handed
2.
Pub gigs? Plug it in, turn it on, makes a bass noise? Fine, bass back on stand and out for a smoke.
You and I were obviously seperated at birth mate.
3. Thank you, but I've had 3/4 of a bottle of red so it takes a while for the thought process's to reach their destination. I'll plug it in and be damned at the next gig.
4. I've thought about this for 17.816 seconds and decided yes. But, I'd like a second opinion before I ad me, my bass and my amp and cab to the bands pyrotecnic show.
5. Some good stuff on monitoring in this thread, must admit I like to get it as quiet on stage as we can, within reason and limited by the drummer who isn't as easy to turn down, don't get me wrong it's still punchy on stage but we're not having a volume fight and we seem to be able to monitor the vocals quite well. I went into a local gig we do quite often recently and there was a band on, I said to one of the locals, "bugger me Pete, these boys are loud" he looked at me and said "you're as loud as this lot!" I had no idea, it doesn't sound it from were I am.
6. It's your guitarist. He's lying.
7. Highway Star, Deep Purple. Bugger me it took some nailing
8. Just learned Moondance, couldn't find a great tab so youtubed "moondance bass" and theres a few guys doing reasonable covers, one even gives a how too, its basic but puts you in the right place, then listen to the track. It's one of those I can imagine playing differently every time. Can't help with the Bob marley one, sorry. Les
9. Pretty much what I thought the answer would be, I'm the "acoustic in the corner" type guitarist but must admit having an understanding of it has helped.
10. Have to admit I haven't read all six or seven pages of the thread but I'd be bolloxed if I couldn't look at what the guitarist is playing and know where he's at !! Don't get me wrong if it's something jazzy at the 10 fret I may struggle but playing at a bit of guitar does help me understand what's going on with the guitar. Thought we'd all play a bit of guitar to be honest. Could be wrong though.
11. Cheers everyone, had quite a bit of success playing aboiut with the pressure of the capo, must have been using the death grip setting before. Les
12. Thanks everyone, will experiment a bit with the tension, never thought that one through to be honest, and I'll try it on a couple of mates guitars.
13. Thanks, that looks good, I'll ask Santa for one. Les
14. Is there one thats really good ? That doesn't screw the tuning up on your guitar ? Got a Shubb and it's ok but there are still tuning issues. Within reason not bothered how much, need to sort this if I can.

Zoom B2 Guru's

Cheers A, understood overdrive and tremelo but you lost me when you got to square wave pattern. Trem is defo the key to this sound so I think I'm away now, just got to find an overdrive I like. Many thanks

Zoom B2 Guru's

It's my first forray into effects and I quite like it, mainly using the pre sets as Im absolutely clueless programmimg the thing. Any way it's time for the pedal to earn it's keep. We're 3 piece , bass, guitar and drums. We tried to do boulevarde of broken dreams by Greenday and made a good fist of it but what it really needs is me to emulate the sound at the beginning (I know its a guitar)before the guitar and vocals come in. But I can't really get anything like it. Once the beginnings over and we're all in it sounds fine. Any one got any ideas on how I could get close to this with the Zoom ? Or a patch thats close enough for me to have a crack at.Or, maybe I can't and we should give up on the track. many thanks Les
17. Can't answer the question on Fender strings as I've never used them, but I have a Mustang and thats short scale, 30" BUT I have to use medium strings cos' it's thru body stringing. One to watch for if your bass is thru body stringin.
18. Cool. Am I right in assuming that will rack mount with the appropriate rack ears ? Chris, It's looking like this weekend for collection, are you about ? Les
19. Chris sent you a PM re the head. Les
20. 69 Mustang, main gigging bass.
21. Had to do the same a year ago, learn a new bands whole set. We did have more than one rehearsal though. Ask the guitarist if he can spare a few hours to nip round to yours with an acoustic when you've got most of it off and just run through the arrangements. Thats what I did. It's do-able, enjoy.
22. What do the 3 knobs do on the passive OLP ? volume, tone and ?
23. Si, it's stamped on the bridge, under the A and D
24.
Good to hear... I love me a bit of the short scale action. Never tried a Mustang tho, are they essentially very much the same as my trusty Musicmaster?
I have no idea mate, they look pretty similar apart the pickup. As Andy said.
