1. Don't suppose you took a pic of it, before it all went back together?
2. I have quite a few of these and there are a few folk on here who have bought one from me. Have a look here: http://flatericbassandguitar.blogspot.co.uk/2013/07/peavey-t-40-controls-and-switches.html Also for the Peavey T story, with input from Chip Todd, look here. You can also widen the range with a Sansamp - Cocco uses one or a BD21 DI Got any specific questions, drop me a line - happy to help. Cheers.
3. Nice one! I'll pass details of mine. Aria and Greco PMB.
4.
Thanks Eric, pickguards vary (the bass in your pic doesn't have one!) , could you measure from the 12th fret to the E/A poles please?
Sorrreeee. My mistake - thought you were doing a Bitsa "P". I'll measure from the bridge saddles to the centre of the pole pieces. That should sort you out. Cheers.
5. I love this set-up. I am in the process of doing the same thing. I am basing the position, on where the ones on my Odyssey, are. So, the forward edge of the E & A pick-up, wants to be as close to the back of the pick-guard, as possible - 3mm or 1/8", should do. Adds no end of bite, to the sound. Cheers.
6. Jon, Hi. If you go to my blog, the last posting, you will see another one like mine. I only know of the one I have and Frank's - I was just curious to know if the one on gumtree, was the same model. Cheers.
7.
Why not?
Ahhh, you got there first! Another cracker from Doug!
8.
This Seiwa looks nice, headstock/decal resembles an Ibanez, it's only £90, Chepstow's a bit too far for me unfortunately http://m.gumtree.com...tion/1049697587
Anyone save a pic of this one? Jon?
9. You Lucky Lucky. . . . . . . . . . Welcome to The Club. If you want any info on your new Forty, drop me a line. Cheers.
10. Very nice indeed! Rare as. . . . . . I've got an SB500 - sort of related to yours - Luvverly Bass. Make sure you really want to move it - would take you ages to find another!!
11.
Never seen an Aria Pro II like this before - anyone know the model number? http://www.ebay.com/...=item19e8330817
Interesting! It's an SB - Elite ish?? It's been "adapted" Definately a bit different. Cheers.
12. Oooooooooooooooooooooooooooo! Very Nice.
13.
I love this bass, my school books were covered in it. I did consider putting together my own but the ergonomics decided against it. This bass pops up in one of my favourite films, Horror Hospital. Perhaps Peter Cook made a few, or JE gave it back?
Peter only made one of these but I have come across several "Tributes", so may be one of those. Peter said John usually had a rough idea - bit of a dodgey sketch and a bag of bits - litterally. He left Peter to make some sense of it. Having said that, even with Peter's input, that bass has got to be the ultimate "Diver"!
14.
Probably FlatEric can tell you more than me, as he's got one! And Noel knows this stuff way better than I do... I've got an RSB Deluxe 2, which appears to be the same bass apart from having a J-layout bridge pickup instead of the 2 Ps the SB has. Solid colour body/neck too. Just curious whether they are essentially the same bass - although FlatEric can probably answer that, too, as I seem to remember he has a nice pearl white RSB Deluxe. J.
Here's the Pearl White: http://flatericbassandguitar.blogspot.co.uk/search?updated-max=2013-10-08T05:00:00-07:00&max-results=8 Here's the Special: http://flatericbassandguitar.blogspot.co.uk/2010/09/little-more-aria.html Just SO glad someone on here got it!! Well done solo4652 - interested to get your opinion on the beast! Let us know. Cheers.
15. Ha. Whadayknow!!! A great bit of kit, gone for pennies. He should have stuck a fake Fender/Gibson sticker on it - the bidding would have rocketed!! I found the pic. In today's money, that is over £1000.00!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I hope whoever got it knows they got an absolute steal! Hey Ho!! Cheers.
16. As a lover of the Double P set-up, looks the business. Nice.
17. Nice. I have one that is the same colour. As stated, "Good for Metal" - Also great for many other styles. Some great tones, medium scale, fast neck, eye catching, Aria quality and a great price. Good luck with the sale. Cheers.
18. You just wouldn't believe it, would you?? It wouldn't take much to restore back to health. SOMEBODY got a real bargain. Ah well. . . . . . .
19.
That's the second ludicrous local Gumtree bargain I've missed in the last month or two. The previous one was more upsetting though - a Canadian Balogh Odyssey guitar for £30. Just ask Flat Eric about these...
WHAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAATTTTTTTTTTT OH NO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Anyone got any pics of it??? These are like gold dust and usually, cost as much! I really hope someone tries to flip this. Bugger!!!!!!!!!!!! That's ruined my day!!
20.
What are the necks like on these? Cheers guys
Just about right, for most. A cross between a P and a J - not too fat and chunky, not too skinny. They are just a really nice bass to play. As I said, in their day, they were a fair old wedge - in 1984, they were £328.87!!!! I know, because mine came with all the Gigsville stuff, including the Guitarzan hang tag!! Hope someone on here grabs it - not many around. Cheers.
21.
I have a matched pair of these (fretted/fretless) in sunburst and they are incredibly good instruments. Great necks to play, good hardware and electronics, at this money you cant go wrong! GLWTS
Totally agree. These things punch way above their weight. Bit of a demo here: http://flatericbassandguitar.blogspot.co.uk/2013/12/peavey-foundation-line-around-head.html My other one - Fretless - MMwwwwaaaaaa. Nice!!! http://flatericbassandguitar.blogspot.co.uk/2011/05/fender-jazz-and-peavey-foundation.html You CANNOT go wrong at this price - trust me!!!! Both of mine were more $$$$$$ than this one. Good luck with the sale. Cheers.
22.
http://www.ebay.co.u...=item19e7f8086b
These were a lot of money, in the day. A really nice, serious bass. A nice weight, well balanced, luvverleeeeeeeeee neck and some great sounds, to boot! Would be a good addition to anyone's collection. This is mine - almost identical. http://flatericbassandguitar.blogspot.co.uk/2010/09/little-more-aria.html Cheers.
23. Hi all. If it is any help, just to rule out what it isn't, this is a Greco PMB. The PM are the initials of a player from the Beatles!! http://flatericbassandguitar.blogspot.co.uk/2011/02/ibanez-2459b-destroyer-and-greco.html Cheers,
24. Looks like a very nice old Toaster "Forty", complete with the original, almost bulletproof case. Fair price for a great bass. Good luck with the sale, you'll miss it. . . . . . . at some point! Cheers.
