Has had pickup select switch replaced other than that I believe it is all original, frets are in excellent condition! Strung with Ti flats and comes with old but robust hard case! £360.00 Cash sale only --I don't ( can't ) play long scale anymore so unfortunately it has to go! Any trial welcome! ( in Leeds near M1 M62, and A1 ) Will. That is a sweet toaster!! Very Nice. A Very Fair Price, indeed. If someone has the desire/sense to go for this - looks like a cracker. Shame you have to move it. [s]I have several Medium Scale, perhaps we could do a de. . . . .[/s] No - Must resist. Cheers.
 2. For what it's worth - I had one of these. Cracking bass! Good price for a bass that is well above a lot of other gear at that price. Good luck with the sale.
 3. Been asked what the other ones on the list were and realised that I had put the wrong link in! Doh! Corrected above and listed here below. http://flatericbassandguitar.blogspot.co.uk/2013/02/one-hundred-thousand-visitors-thanks.html
 4.
100% agree with that. PP I can only marvel at his mastery, while not being totally into his music. As a demo as to what makes me want to nick someone elses hands; I was at JD's to accidentally meet MK because I wanted a bass to sound like this & John put the circuit in.........
. . . .just off to practice this, back [s]soon[/s] - [s]tomorrow[/s] - [s]next week[/s] erm. . . . when I've cracked it.
 5. Hi to all you BC'ers. Many on here are aware of my blog and I have responded to various PM's about this bass or that. . . . . Today, I have logged up over 100000 visitors and you will never guess what "the" most popular search has been. . . . . Hard to believe but it is. . . . . Fender Urge 1 - Made in Mexico! Ironically, I no longer have it. . . . . I sold it to a BC'er! This one .... More details on this bass and the other top searches, here: http://flatericbassa...1-stu-hamm.html http://flatericbassandguitar.blogspot.co.uk/2013/02/one-hundred-thousand-visitors-thanks.html Who would believe it? Anyone else on here got one? RaNoFunky. . . . still got it?? Cheers.
 6. WOW! I have never seen one of those! It does look slightly odd and slightly right, in the same breath! The odd head facings make it look like two joined togther. There is an unusually great distance between the necks but then again the 8 string part doesn't look like the regular Ibby 8, which has the "Studio" slab body, so if it is a stuck together job, it has used the more rare MC980. My Jaydee twin weighs 21lbs, so a guess this would be around 20lbs ish. Time to do a bit of research.
 7. Hello mate - Happy new year. Trust me - stick with the 8 x 10. Try the 15's, if you must but you will not get the same delivery as the bigger rig, in my opinion/experience. All the best for 2013. Cheers.
 8.
Best be quick http://www.ebay.co.u...984.m1423.l2649
Anyone on here win this one?
 9. Hi to you all - hope you had a pleasant Christmas day. For those who have not caught up, plenty more from Chip Todd, on the Peavey T Series. http://flatericbassandguitar.blogspot.co.uk/ If you are catching up, scroll down to where you left - being in a blog format, the latest post is what you see first, so scroll down. If you have not seen any of it, scroll down to October 16th, where the feature starts, read the first post and then scroll up to the next one and the next one. Any questions you have, let me know. Cheers.
 10.
What's the going rate for getting these beauties imported from the US?
No need, really - there are some to choose from in the UK. From the USA, there is the cost of the bass, shipping, UK VAT, at 20%, customs charge and handling fee. NEXT PART OF THE T-60 T-40 STORY IS UP. http://flatericbassandguitar.blogspot.co.uk/ Cheers.
 11.
Flat Eric am I right in thinking my T40 is a 1979 given the serial is 00396236 ? Cheers.
Yep, mid '79. Slab body and Toasters. I will be posting the next installment from Chip, today/tomorrow and am putting together the next questions. So, any more questions? Cheers,
 12.
Very, very interesting, gonna try it now. Cheers! How did you find out about it?
The switch went a bit hit and miss, so I took the back off to give it a clean. While I was making sure all worked - moving the switch slowly, an additional sound appeared. Once I had worked out what was making contact and what was not, I put a piece of thin card in to keep the contacts from each other. I guess up to now, I have played it for a total of 12 to 15 hrs and all seems to be fine. Tried it yet? Cheers.
 13.
Well, after some fiddling about with my FX in rehearsal today I've totally nailed it and am happier than ever. I use two amps for different pedals (SVT for low end with an Xotic BB clone/SFT and a B25B for all my more extreme FX) and just needed to tweak the chain a bit. Weirdly, I found the RD sounded too fizzy with my Rat (even with the filter most of the way up) so went back to using my Drivemaster which has a 3 band EQ and it sounds IMMENSE. Might still try some half rounds if I can find some long and heavy enough. Cheers for everyones input.
Two things: I know someone who removed the circuit years ago and has played it passive ever since. The other thing - I think I put it up here, somwhere - I did a VERY simple mod to my Artist, using a piece of paper between one of the contacts - I will try and find it. The bass became a bit of a beast - sort of supercharged - a lot of Punch! Will come back to you. Cheers. Edit: Found it! See here: http://flatericbassandguitar.blogspot.co.uk/2012/02/peter-cook-axis-gibson-rd-artist-and.html Simple to do - once you have access - 5 seconds, Max - to reverse, the same.
 14.
More content ! Stop drip feeding it I want it all .
Here you go! I asked your question for you and got a very detailed reply. Next post up As I have said before, to get the story in order - being in a blog format, the latest post is what you see first, so scroll down to October 16th, where it starts, read the first post and then scroll up to the next one and the next one. Cheers.
 15. Next post up. 16.
I think Flat Eric has a headless bass that looks like that one, only without a head. He'll be along shortly I'm sure.
You rang? This is mine. More details here: http://flatericbassandguitar.blogspot.co.uk/2010/11/gordy-headless-bass.html Love mine - yours looks like the "Dogs" - not yet seen one, this is the first glance of one, Sweet!
 17.
More content ! Stop drip feeding it I want it all .
Drip, Drip, Drip. . . . . !! Next post coming soon, with even more details! The one that was up for big $$$ is a bit of a rare bird. This has the very early "Line around the truss rod cover". This was only run out on a limited number and then changed to the way all the remainder are. It has the early case but not the first, they were more traditional looking. I have a case like this but the interior is in Blue! never seen another one. . . . Yet! According to the blurb, this was the Demo bass that the store bought in 1978, and sold basses on after a trial on this one. All as per ex-factory. The only thing missing is the film cover, which showed how the controls work. Not many of these around!! Nice bit of history. Cheers.
 18. Good point, Marco - I know what you mean but as a collector/player, these things are worthy of note. The 8M serials and generally accepted as some of the earliest T's, altough there were others slightly before. I will come back with more details on the 8M. If anyone is interested - I put this up as a separate post in General Discussion but will also post it here. Chip Todd is helping me document the Peavey T Story, so if you want to go here: http://flatericbassandguitar.blogspot.co.uk/ SCROLL DOWN TO 16TH OF OCTOBER and then read by scrolling up - it's in a blog format, so the start of any feature is at the bottom. Slightly confusing!! I will be putting up Chip's next installmant, tomorrow or Friday. Cheers.
 19.
Some serious speculation going on here as well. $1295 seems a bit silly, even if it's never felt the love of an owner's touch.
Ahhh, well - there might be a reason for that. That is a rare 8M with the line around the TRC and. . . . . . the original warranty!! Got to dash but I will come back tomorrow on this and to catch up on the recent "Forty" activity. Cheers.
 20. Alex, Hi. As one door closes. . . . . . . . . Good luck - I'm sure with your determination, you will get sorted. Spend the time learning as much as you can. All the best. Cheers.
 21.
That example has a few issues. Prices more usually £300 to £400 for good examples, with original case.
I agree with you, Noel - These are very nice and very well made basses. The one shown as sold is not in this league. I have a 940 BS and a 924. I have never seen a 940 with anything other than a maple board. The truss rod cover is not original, so maybe this was fretted and what looks like a very pro job has been done to convert it. Looks very nice. I really do not need any more basses but would be very happy if this dropped into my lap for £150!! It may not be original but it looks very well done and would give a lot of pleasure to a new owner. Since Jon has left us, we have very few champions of "all things Japanese" and classic Ibanez and Aria, etc don't perhaps get as much airtime as they deserve. Jon (Bassasin) would be straight onto this. A very nice bass, indeed.
 22.
Here's me with my band Superfloor.
Hi. Nice to see you over here.
 23. I have put this up here, so it doesn't get mixed up with the other topics on the Peavey T-40. I have now started the story of Hartley Peavey, Chip Todd and the "T" Series. So, if you are a fan of the Forty or are just interested in the company who were at the cutting edge of guitar production in the mid 70's, go here: http://flatericbassandguitar.blogspot.co.uk/ Being in a blog format, the latest post is what you see first, so scroll down to October 16th, where it starts, read the first post and then scroll up to the next one and the next one If you have any questions that I can put to Chip, that you can't see in the article, then fire away. Cheers.
 24. Hiya mate. I have never fitted and flats on a Forty but one of my Toasters came with flats on it. Don't know what they were - had brown silk ends. VERY Old School! Used it for a college musical thing and both teachers loved it to bits. I have Roto flats on my Guild B301 and they sound very nice. I would try some Roto flats, if I were you. Cheers.
 25. Hi. A while ago, I said I would do a feature on The "T" series Peavey's - The Forty and the Sixty. Well, I have made a start on this and have had some good news today. Chip Todd, who along with Hartley Peavey, developed the "T" series Basses & Guitars, has very kindly agreed to help me with the feature. So. . . . . if you have any interesting questions, perhaps something you have not seen an answer to before, please let me know and I will ask Chip and if relevant, I will include them in the feature. Cheers.
