Hi, iv'e had my Peter Cook since it was made for me in 1980. Peter was recomended to me by our new at the time bassist who had a Firebird bass made by peter. We all thought it was the bee's. So i met him round the back of his house in his over sized shed and ordered mine. I remember not liking the head of the Gibson Firebird so he reworked it. And better for it i think. What do you think.
Wow!! Another one to tick off! We are having a Peter Cook Owners Get Together, so in true Dad's Army Styley. . . . Your name will go on ze list!! Will be in touch.

Someone, not a million miles away, might just like to have this. . . . .

Mmm, not sure about an 840??? RS824??? RS924 is Active, with a 2 band EQ and the 824 is passive. Both really great basses - £ for £, way better than a lot of the "run of the mill" stuff. Get one - those in "the Know" will know what I mean. Seem to remember, Steve Harris was an 824 player, along with other well known players. Go fo it!! Cheers.
Hi All, New to this, I previously owned a Beautiful pre-LED aria SB 1000. Before Xmas just gone, the drummer from our old band got in touch and suggested we do a 20th anniversary reunion. Mad Idea but I said yes. I regretabbly sold my SB (which I bought second hand in 1988) around about 1995, typical thing, get married, have children and a career etc. Might add, mad basket. Since the drummer got in touch, I only wish to do the reunion if I am playing an SB-1000. Mad as this sounds, I have since been googling SB-1000 websites and came across the following website, Im sure some of you will know this website, www.prog.rockers.co.uk/sb1000.htm http://www.prog.rock....uk/sb1000.htm. Please paste and view. I was shocked too see that my old SB-1000 is pictured on the above link, number 20, Bassman North Wales (cut those strings) who has owned this beauty for 18 years, that would fall in with when I sold it. The grain is commented on in the above website. I have a picture of me rehearsing with the same grained bass circa 1992. The grain in a guitar is like a finger print. No doubt same bass. What I am asking is if anyone can put me in touch with the current owner so I could play this bass for a one off reunion gig? Should anyone know the contact details for the owner, please get in touch with me and help reunite me for one glorious night. Further information, the bass had a new pickup fitted around about 1993,courtesy of Aria, my memory is vague on this now, but if correct they supplied FOC. I just had to solder the new pickup in. Any help from members would be greatly appreciated. Hope I have posted this in the appropriate place. Regards, Dassman The above link is not behaving, this is what it should show. If you copy and paste the following, www.prog.rockers.co.uk/sb1000.htm It will then work. Thank you for your perseverance. 20) “Bassman” from north Wales has owned this attractive SB-1000 for 18 years. Recalling the fire which destroyed the Aria factory, he writes, “I remember hearing about the disaster, and reading that all the blueprints for early models of guitars had gone up in smoke. Aria (representatives of Matsumoku) released a document on their website asking anyone who had a pre-1981 version of an SB-1000 to get in touch so they could examine their basses for to recreate them.” Lovely grain in the wood. Give those string-ends a trim please!
Have you tried contacting Graeme, who runs the site - great bloke - he may have the original contact details. Try here: http://www.prog.rockers.co.uk/ Cheers.
My fretless roadster is solid black, maple neck, but with only one control cavity at the back. Flat Erik you have two covers on the back, is one a battery? Is that original? Mine is passive, though I don't know if it's original electronics.
If it has one P and one J - 2 Vol, 2 Tone and a selector switch, it is likely to be an RS824. I have a fretted one - nice. Cheers.

Almost all Ibanez Basses of that period, are great basses. Which one are you after?? Cheers.
The string volumes don't seem to be any different, only that the bridge pick up is quieter than the neck one. I think it may just be the switches and knobs surrounding it, it'll be hard for any of you to see hear without having the bass in front of you. Theres an excellent tech in Newcastle I'm going to try, he serviced my StingRay and did an incredible job. Dan
Just spotted this. I think all of what has been said is good advice. Not sure if this is worth anything but here goes. . . . I have two Aria Elite, with the same set up as the one you refer to. The bridge pick-up on both doesn't kick out as much Umph as the neck. On the bridge only, are you getting an equal sound over all the strings, just not as loud as the other pick-up? As you have tapped the pick-up, as you described, it may be duff but there is a volume difference on mine, which is the same as two others I have played. Got any pics of the beast? Cheers. Just read one of your posts again - odd when both switches down!! Err, I'll get me coat!!
More pictures here: http://www.thinlizzy...1982/820704.htm This has caught my interest too and after had a dig about the net for Ibanez catalogues etc, the only other reference I found was on Talkbass in which someone mentions that Ibanez made the double-neck specially for Phil. You could ask the poster where they got the info. Here's the thread: http://www.talkbass....ts-gear-230612/
Thanks for the links - small ish pics but better than the ones I have found. Looks like a small venue - up close! I am going to try the guy on TB and see if he knows any more about it.
Interesting stuff. How would amplification work on a double neck like that? Two outputs and two amps?
Yes, guitar and bass fed into 2 separate amps. Cheers.
I've seen footage of him with an Ibanez double neck - there's a picture of him with one on this video:
Thanks for that - from your link, I have managed to find this pic. Not the best but at least it shows it from the front. If anyone else has any info, would be great to hear from you.
And it's not like you've got any interesting double-neck instruments, like Jaydee 4/8 string basses or Ibanez Artist 6/12 string guitars.
It's true, I have a facination for them but more interesting for me, I have been a Lizzy fan for as long as I can remember and this is the first time I have come across this. I am well aware of his Ibanez link but never knew they built him a Twin Neck. Better still, it's a 6 on top and 4 on the bottom. Would love to see some better pics. Cheers.

Bit of a long shot but. . . . . . Three times , now - there have been searches on my Blog for "Phil Lynott" Double Neck - from different locations around the world!! So, on the basis it is not some random question, I have tried to find references to it/images. The only thing that keeps coming up is that apparently, Phil had an Ibanez 4 & 6. Is this true? Does anyone have any knowledge of this? ~Waits for deluge of replies~ Cheers.

John, Hi. It's a Kay. I had two of them, at one time - surprisingly good. Can suffer from Bridge "Bottom out" - mine didn't. Cheers.
I have a Westone Quantum (32" headless) with the 'Magnflux' pick ups. Staggering output level - equal to my active basses, and an excellent range of tones from two pick-ups, two volumes and a shared tone control. Probably the favourite tone of all my basses.
I've got one, as well VERY powerful - real punch. Just sold my Westone Rail - plug that in after you have set up the amp for a Jazz and you had better duck for cover!! NB. I have some Westone Circuits and other odds and ends, so if anyone has lost their active, I may ge able to help. Cheers.

Priceless and in quite a few cases, so true. "Where's the Drummer" - in our case, usually last!!! Bless 'im! Very funny, I shall pass this on! Cheers.
What does this weigh, Eric?
Hi. Errrm, I'm not sure. I play T40's, Ibanez Studio's and other Military Spec basses, so to me. . . . . LIGHT!! I have two other Fakers and I guess it's the about the same as them - in all seriousness, I would guess at 8Lb ish??? Cheers.
Very interested in this especially if you can get the cover , let me know Cheers Jem
Hi. Getting the cover may take some time - they do come up now and again - in past times Jon - Bassasin would have perhaps had several lying around. Anyone heard from him?? So, for the time being, it is up for sale as it is. Thanks for your interest. Cheers.

More of the ones up for sale. Aria Ric in lovely condition. Just what you would expect - Pics say it all. Everything works, Ric looking tuners, Stereo that works - used it last Thursday and will come with a basic Stereo lead, so you can play around with it. Bought to back up my Greco Ric but never really used it - don't gig the Greco much so was never taken out - not even sorted out the intonation - although for rehearsal it didn't realy bother me. Been on a long loan to a friend and now time to let it go. Nice to play, great neck, Ric sounds (with the correct eq on amp) - intonation will be done before shipping. This really is a beauty - only thing missing is the bridge cover but that could be acquired if needed. Comes with a gig bag and will be well packaged, if shipping is required. Delivery + £15 - Collection is fine. Priced at a fair £350.00 - Hondo's have gone for more than that and this is way better. First with "I'll have it" - it's yours. Cheers.
