1. Very cool - didn't realise they came with a set neck.

3. I'm now using my Ashdown with my SansAmp into the FX return so it sounds a lot better. I'll stick with that as I'm only using it in the house for now. I've just seen a TE BLX150 like I used to have on eBay, but it's collection only from Wales
4. Black padded multiple rockstand that takes 3 guitars or basses. I've been using this for years and it hasn't damaged or marked any of my basses (inc wax finished Warwick) and is very secure. £10 including postage. Posting it may be a bugger mind!
5. Kent Armstrong H4BE-B black covered 4 string bass humbucker This pup served me very well for years in my recently deceased old MM copy. I got it as a subscription gift from Bassist back in the 90s. It has a good high output and 4 conductor wiring to enable coil tapping or series/parallel switching (I'm including the necessary switch for free). £10 inclusive of postage EMG Stacked bass and treble bass preamp: black control knobs. I bought this second hand for £25 from someone in Bassworld a couple of years ago and never got round to installing it in my old bass. Unfortunately I can't remember the model number for it (BT1 or something). Anyway - they assured me it was working at the time, you'll get your money back if it isn't working. £15 inclusive of postage
6. I'm selling these as a part of my general bass clearout £7 all in (no fixing screws though but B and Q have a great selection!)
7. Sorry wrong place - mods please move - how embarrassing
8.
24 minutes! Nice work Muppet. I need to work faster
+1 for that - SOLD BTW sorry for posting in the wrong place
9. No-name/Jim Deacon chrome hardware (and a plastic Jazz knob) happy to sell as a job lot for £15 + postage or to split: Bridge Machineheads - 3+1 configuration inc. screws 4 screw neck plate 3x push fit domed and knurled control knobs 2x 1980s Ibanez V shaped strap buttons Circular string retainer 1x black plastic Jazz bass knob - the larger size Just make me an offer - I won't be insulted
10. I'm selling my virtually unused Shure SM58 - brand new condition. I bought it for a recording project that never happened and I already have another. It's been kept in it's case since new and works fine. £35 ono.
11. I love Streamers but the pickup covers and the head stock veneer just look odd against the body wood. The should either match exactly or contrast more sharply - as it is they just look like they are badly matched.
12. My 2000 Warwick Streamer StdII (German built). The neck and big pickups are so comfortable for me to play on it feels like it was made for me which is why I got it. I'd never sell it as it was my main bass when I gigged with my old band.
13.
Position yourself so you can watch the kick drum pedal. It's a lot easier than trying to hear it through the noise of guitars, etc.
+1 for that and maybe try and mic up the kick drum if possible. Practising with just a drum machine or with just your drummer may also help. I've been told a play guitar like a bass player and I play bass like a guitar player by different people - but I started on bass guitar.
14.
Cheers Doc,your welcome and thanks for the compliment.
no problem - I post as Darth Balls elsewhere on the web Good to find other Kevin Smith / View Askew fans - BUUUUNNNGGGG!
15.
TE used to do a "bright box" 5? tweeters in a thin enclosure. Might be worth looking for a second hand one?
Yeah but wouldn't I then need to install a speaker out into the Electric Blue?
16.
my mate had one of these until last week. he only got shut because he part x'd it against a warwick jazzman.he fitted a badass bridge with no problems at all so you shouldnt have to shim the neck if you do upgrade to a thicker item.i had a jazz costing twice as much as these and it blew mine away without breaking sweat and from what he told me the pups were specially designed for this bass. hope this helps.
Cheers BTW - I like the Buddy Christ Avatar
17. Drum machine is gone but other 2 still for sale, also on ebay
18. Gafbass that's a great looking Jazz - makes the Squiers even more tempting! I've emailed the Guitar Emporium for a price on a maple board J.
19. After dabbling with a Bass Collection 5str and in the more hi-fi, hi-tech, active sounds of my graphite neck Status Groove (currently for sale [post="0"]BTW - link[/post]) I've decided to simplify things a bit go back to all passive 4str basses. In short I am GASsing for a J. I've looked at loads of different ones, mainly Fenders and Squiers and I really like the look of the 70s style natural ones with maple boards and blocks. The US version is way out of my price range but the VM Squier is a definite contender. I've also tended to prefer maple necks to rosewood in the past as they cut through a bit better. All the other J types look a bit boring in comparison. Are the VMs worth a punt? As it is a more standard type of bass I'm also considering upgrading it as the low cost will leave me a bit of spare cash - I'm thinking Badass II and possibly some posher pups (any recommendations?). Also are Hipshot Lightweight tuners worth the money? I will definitely have it professionally set up too. Hopefully I'll be able to find a shop with one in stock as they seem to be selling fast - Soundcontrol Glasgow had none left and may have to wait until June!
20.
Trace Elliot combo might get the sound you want....
Yeah - I used to have a BLX150SMC with a tweeter, I really wish I'd never traded that. The new TE stuff seems hard to find around Glasgow.
21.
A learning opportunity? Alex
LOL - I suppose, but it's actually quite a scary thought and I'd need to get the tools starting with a soldering iron. I'll consider it though! Would it be possible to exchange the driver for one with a concentric/coaxial 12" woofer and tweeter arrangement similar to the Eden N12? Would this require specific knowledge of the circuitry and driver unit installed in the Electric Blue 130? Sorry for all the questions.
22. Too late I sold this within 24hrs of putting it in the market place. I sold it more due to the space it took up and it being way beyond my requirements. I also wanted an amp that fitted into my MX5!
23. How about £450 ono? I'd also consider a PX for a nice jazz - something like a Vintage Modified Maple Neck. I live in Blantyre which is just outside Glasgow. Cheers rumour 6!
24. I'm selling my graphite necked Status Groove 4str with natural alder finish. I got this bass from Status 2 years ago and at the time Rob and Dawn at Status told me that this was one of the very last Grooves made and that they didn't have any wooden necks left so they fitted a modified Status Graphite Musicman Stingray replacement neck. As far as I am aware there was only one other graphite neckeed Groove that was finished in all black - I have emailed Rob to confirm. The graphite neck changes the feel, sound and appearance of the Groove considerably - I found I could get very close to Flea's sounds and that of Timmy C on the first RATM CD. Musicman Stingray, Cutlass and P bass sounds are easy to approximate IMHO. The 2 band EQ is 9V but seemed to have a lot of boost in both bass and treble - I never went anywhere near the extremes of the travel on either pot. This bass has a very clear sound but responds well to aggressive playing and FX/distortion brilliantly. It's only left my house a couple of times and has never been gigged. It is in great condition apart from 2 small lines in the surface on the top edge of the lower horn (see photos). This bass sounds and plays great but I'm just not using it enough to justify keeping it and I'm also planning a return to all passive basses. This bass comes in its original Status branded Hiscox Lite Flite hard case. Rumour6 on basschat has had a quick play of it so you can always ask for an independent assessment.
25. I really have no skills in the electronics side of amps - I'd have to find someone in the Glasgow area who could modify it for me.
