1. Loads of views, not many offers.. I'm gonna open this to trades, pretty specific though, looking for a Yamaha 1024x ideally but slim necked precisions considered. Truth be told I'm not in too much of a rush to move this on as its currently holding no 1 bass slot whilst I await a new bass from Fender being delivered.
2. A Lakland Duck Dunn. I wants it!!
3. For sale is this set of hot cermaic PJ pickups by Kent Armstrong that have barely been used by me. They have an enclosed cover and were originally from a Shuker bass. They came already removed so everything is neat and tidy when I purchased and have only been checked since to ensure they work. They retail at approximately £100 so lets say [s]£60[/s] £45 delivered. Pictures to follow.
4. Right I need some money, dropped to £210, if I get a job this gets withdrawn!
5.
sp**k volcano and the Eruptions
You'll be saying you don't like the name Dirt Box Disco in a minute..
6. Just a quick picture of this with the covers on, included in the sale.
7. With my other bass poorly this has become my no 1 for the moment, if anyone is interested then throw your offers at me now as I be will taking this down tomorrow if not.
8. Ah fair enough, how did that end?
9. This one has the truss rod access at the heel so potentially the same issue.
10. I think to regard his role as work would be an exaggeration. It went to him for a set-up, that's what he attempted to deliver prior to finding the issue.
11. These are echoing my thoughts exactly, if touching the truss rod voids the warranty that seems ridiculously low standard to void a warranty when you need to use it to get the action setup correctly.
12. I'm gonna wait for a resolution before I start slinging around names!
13. My technician did take it apart to look at it to try and get the action lower.
14. That is basically the explanation given to me by the tech I took it to. It is the shop's technician who is questioning this. He seems to think the tampering of the tech may invalidate the warranty??
15. In a nutshell, yes. The tech that wouldn't touch it was the shops though.
16. Sorry, demonstrating my lack of knowledge.. When I refer to the cap I actually mean the screw/adjuster at the base of the neck. The screw wasn't flush with the neck, the tech said it should be. There was no suggestion that the truss rod is broken but then the tech wouldn't have known as he refused to touch it!!
17. Last week I sent my bass off to my usual technician for a setup as I'd noticed that the action was unusually high. Get a call today to say that the truss rod is maxed and it cannot come down to how he'd setup my Squier. As this is still within warranty I took the bass back to the shop where I bought the bass and they say the tech has over tightened the truss rod as the cap now doesn't sit flush with the neck. Further they said they wouldn't try to correct for liability issues. They have agreed to send the bass back to the manufacturer to be investigated but they didn't sound very hopeful of a positive resolution. Not being particularly technical with basses but on a simplistic level what is the manufacturer's obligation? From my perspective, if I can get a lower action on a bass a third of the cost then surely something has got to be wrong?
18. Thanks for the responses, the EP we recorded was released without mastering and in hindsight whilst it sounds uber professional it perhaps lacks some "balls" to the lower frequencies as a consequence. The difficulty I find is establishing whether this is due to the lack of mastering or as a consequence of the engineer's work as there is inherent "topiness" to all his recordings. This may be typical of the genre in which we play. Assuming that we are going to have the recording mastered, does anyone have any recommendations for individuals that can do a good job?
19. Hi, My band are gearing up to record our debut album in the next few months, we are recording at reputable studio who will also be mixing the tracks for us. I am wondering what the value in mastering the album is and whether it is worth the extra money to have this done at a separate studio? I'm a complete novice when it comes to recording processes so any insights welcome.
20. Buyer went MBP (Missing Before Purchase) so this is available again.
21. Not in a rush to get rid of this but as an incentive lets drop this to £220.
