1. wow, whatever floats your boat, just saying i prefer it to other DAWs ive used, thats all. I believe the OP would probably want something fairly simple to use for fairly basic stuff.
2. Tracktion 4 is excellent and very intuitive, everything fits on the one page. http://www.tracktion.com/
3. Great idea.
4. also bang an ad on the lemonrock forum, theres loads of SW bands on it
5. So good gig last night, but to my (one) ear the bottom E sounded huge and fat and juicy but the others all seemed to disappear in the mix. This doesnt always happen but seemed particularly noticeable last night. All the eq was the same (SWR 700 head into Kappalite 115) all set roughly to 12 o'clock with the bass enhancer on (actually, maybe that was the problem!) Does anyone else ever get this problem now and again?
6. Thanks for the heads up! Just spent this morning learning that bass line to alright Now, harder than i thought!!
7. PS, as you said, if you're going to DI to the PA for louder gigs (like I do) then as long as your backline cab gives you the monitoring you need to hear yourself on stage then the 8 ohm cab possibly gives you more future options.
8. so the markbass 4 ohm cab will give you the full 500watts but if you ever in the future decide you need another cab, I would go for the 8 ohm cab. Although it will give you about 300 watts, the difference in actual volume won't be massive, but i have a hunch that 2 x 8 ohm cabs will give you a better sound than 1 x 4 ohm cab.
9. might be worth setting your strap length to the same height as when you're playing sitting down, (ie don't have the bass down by your knees!)
10. FREAK!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
11. well to be honest, £350 would probably get you a nice used MIM or even a MIJ/CIJ Fender P Thats what i'd go for!
12. As Phil knows, i upgraded my Warwick 115 to an eminence kappalite and got a massive improvement in sound, don't think you will be disappointed. Might have to run them in for a bit though?
13. im guessing thats a big old no then??
14. Hi Guys, anyone here could offer some advice? So we just got a nice little peavey FX16 desk for a bit of a steal off ebay with multicore setup in a flight case with some space for another rackmount unit. What we want to do is record our gigs and maybe make some demos of our own stuff in a home studio. In a live situation we use about 12 inputs to the desk ( 7 drums, 2 vocals, guitar mic, bass DI, plus mp3 player for intervals), there's only 3 of us! The Peavey, apparently has a feature where if you push the input 1/4" jacks halfway they also produce an output signal? I think you need something called TRS cables. So the thinking was, and we are pretty newb about all this, was to get a 12 input audio interface, rackmountable, with a firewire or usb out to a laptop. Does anyone have any experience of this? Would it work? Ive seen some 2nd hand of these http://www.ebay.co.u...=item1c32326410 any good? we want a fairly simple(ish) soloution to recording in a neat unit. I've used Tracktion 3 as a Daw before and thats pretty simple to operate. Any thoughts or suggestions, greatly welcome! Steve
15. Nothing wrong with a bit of shredding, ace song!
16. Pick up a nice MIJ/CIJ (jap) reissue for £350/£400. Nice bass!
17. Hey got the tab, for anthem, its pretty tough (to put it mildly) for me! PM if you want me to email it to you, you'll need to have adobe PDF installed I think i might have uploaded it here actually but not sure.... cheers
18. never 'eard of em! A bit like myspace? don't think it's going to catch on, (don't quote me!)
19. great single, cant wait!
20. i find them ok if you wait for the crappy liner to fall apart (it will! ) and then re-line the top and bottom with some carpet tiles and carpet glue-spray. Make sure you get carpet tiles (about £3) that like sticking to velcro!
21. All i can say is that Kiogon (John) changed the pots from my JV squier to his own and the difference in sound was truly astonishing. Much deeper and louder, completely changed the characteristics of that bass.
22. going to put a bid in Mr F?
23. welcome from not so sunny (today) Teignmouth!
24. im not sure what the difference is to be honest. I have both on the back of my amp and i never know which to use!
25. wow thats mental cheap
