1. oh dear... that makes for great evidence that bass should always be used in a band context!

3. thanks Johnny great site BTW, just added the video lessons to my bookmarks!
4. they are seriously fab, i use mine with DHA VT-2 tube eq, its almost like they were made for each other. 3 tubes in a row!!
5. wow great replies while i was out! Yeah, ive got some nice hot shrink leads that have never failed me from the 1980's but are a bit warped. I guess iys time to treat myself to some new ones! Thanks for all your advice guys.
6. so i have some nice quality cables that after years of poor wrapping up after gigs (ie around the forearm or tying into knots) have become horribly curled, snaggy or warped, whatever the term is. Is there any way of returning their origional.. ehrm..."memory" so they lay smooth and can be wrapped in a neat circle? thanks
7. same ad on ebay with zero feedback, plus he's got it up for auction yet says in the (brief) description he wants £1300 for it, somethings fishy...
8. thats him! Many thanks!!!
9. whois the BC member here who supplies really well made guitar/bass leads, patch cables etc? sorry...
10. still for sale, had me dinner!
11. would deffo tell the agent to do one. How dare he threaten anyone who gets gigs direct from a venue! Who the f**k does he think he is, Harvey Weinstein?
12. Another Dave Hall Fan here! I use this monster http://www.davehallamps.co.uk/page37.html
13. nice, like the fact you can fit the multi plug on board.
14. can you withdraw this ad?
15. tuner first, all the other bits, then compressor last.
16.
Just watched this on BBC4. All were good, but my faves have to be The Stereophonics doing I Saw Her Standing There, and Beverley Knight doing Twist and Shout. Man, that girl can sing!
yep, my 2 faves as well. What amazed me was actually how much better the origionals were than all the covers last night, all that extra layering with strings and choirs/backing singers took something away. Just 4 blokes and some guitars, made me re-appreciate just how bloody good they really were!
17. A big thank you to all the mods and everyone who makes basschat what it is, namely all you members! Ive just completed a sweet 3-way amp swap with mikeh and Ant, which although a little fiddly came good last week. Im now the proud owner of an SWR working Pro 700 in exchange for my ampeg PF-500 which was swapped for an OTB-500. If it wasn't for these forums and the trustworthiness of its members this would never have happened, so again a big thank you mods!
18. Level 42, loved em in the 80's, now i listen, I cringe. ELO loved em as a kid, well rubbish now apart from pre out of the blue EWF loved them again as a kid...STILL THINK THEY'RE FAB NOW!!!!!!
19. f***ing cracking busy band, one of the best in the South West, a GREAT opportunity for someone...
20. Cracker! Vintage guitars and bass grossly undersetimated IMO
21.
I wouldn't use a Kappa as a standalone speaker personally - it's got a huge peak in the upper mids and doesn't really go high enough. It's an LF driver (unlike the Kappalite, which is fine but pricey). Grab yourself one of these if you can stretch to it: http://basschat.co.u...-for-sale-x-2/. Not only is it neo (so it's light) but the price is half what you would normally pay in the shops - so you wouldn't lose any money if you eventually decided to sell it. Also, it is in a different league to the drivers you have been considering so far and will work fine in the Ashdown.
yep this. I have a kappalite which sounds awesome but it cost an arm and a leg.
22. be careful with your amp! Best of luck mate!
