1. KiOgon does fantastic wiring kits for P and J bass. I got mine here on basschat for about 20 quid and its really beefed up my quarter pounders, top guy to deal with too!
2. http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/CHASE-CABINET-BASS-GUITAR-SPEAKER-CAB-400-W-HIWATT-B410?item=390319920492&cmd=ViewItem&_trksid=p5197.m7&_trkparms=algo%3DLVI%26itu%3DUCI%26otn%3D5%26po%3DLVI%26ps%3D63%26clkid%3D7870813889775205246 anyone know about these? seems cheap for a hiwatt or am i confusing these for the 70's vintage stuff?
3.
The VT1 is very subtle. I use it with solid state amps to add a bit of grind and add tube warmth but it doesn't go much past that, even when cranked. It's a great and useful sound but not what I, and I imagine a lot of people, expect from a drive pedal. I realise I could probably get a more versatile pedal but I like the VT1 sound and they're made in the UK rather than mass produced and I'd rather support a small business.
yeah Daves a top bloke, theyre awesome sounding pedals, look great too!
4. hmmm as the owner of a DHA VT2 i cant comment on the behringer but i know that the DHA doesnt really cut it at low volumes with my practce amp but at gig volumes through my ampeg and 4 x 10 and 1 x 15 it sounds huge.
5. Very interesting debate guys! im happy to discuss our "going" rate. As your fairly typical 3 piece rock covers band down in the South West (Devon) we try to get a minimum of £60 each (£180) for pubs, although we are willing to drop to £50 each if the landlord/lady umms and ahhs (plus we offer that rate for first time gigs in the hope of further work). Christmas/bank holidays/carnivals etc, it creeps up to hopefully £80 each. Its really tough out there at the moment and we have played to a lot of poorly attended pubs this year and know the landlord must be loosing money. I dont want to see the number of venues offering live music ever diminishing, you have to cut your cloth accordingly.
6. getting on with each other so much more important than ability at any level....
7. and the PF 500 !! My rig and bass (less the effects and classy ampeg speakers.......... )

10. quarter pounders, quarter pounders, quarter pounders, quarter pounders, quarter pounders....sorry
11. ok think i have the hang of it now... it (to me) is all in the realisation of a little time change in the 2nd part of the lick, excuse my ignorance, but does it move up a notch to 16ths or something with the open A and D, hammer ons bit before the "descent " from open A to the beginning again? Sorry, thats not musically precise im sure, but the best i can articulate it!
12. yeah, slowly getting the hand of it, its the second part with the change in timing with the open A and D and the hamer on/offs without the open A ringing on thats causing me a headache! Love it though, driving the wife and kids nuts...
13. its the timing i find a little tricky, those little mutes, damn, he's good!
14. Is it me or is this a really tricky little bass line? Big heads and egotists out tyhe back door please! Im finding the timing a whole new learning curve from the plodding bass lines i usually bang out. Great line to learn mind!
15. www.lemonrock.com good site for bands looking for new members but mainly covers, some origionals though

17.
My thoughts exactly..... how can he be so sh*t live but pretty awesome on recordings..... or does he have a 'stuntbassist' on standby?
and a fluffer?

21.
Not sure what this means?? I'm going on the Monday I believe
Sorry i meant no disrespect but 1000 miles/hour slap does not groove IMO, he sure aint no Larry Graham/BootsyMarcus/Verdine, as i said, perhaps you had to be there to really get down n funky, or possibly im talking utter bo**ocks!
22. £30 to £60 quid , no way! Id rather kiss a tramps arse! Used to love level 42 back when i was a spotty herbert back in 84, but lets be honest, they were pretty embarassing weren't they? Marks an amazing player, but, well, white men cant jump, as the saying goes.... sorry
