1.
His timings all over the place at the start of the video. There's a lot better on youtube than that for lessons bud
Marlowe Dk Perchance?
2. if its for home, laney or peavey 15w practice amps are fine but I hear the roland cube is good? Dont Eden do some pretty tasty practice amps? 3.
nope not UFO sorry but this band have played the same stage as UFO many times
you're such a tease!
4. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nAmq5bAaTs8&feature=related sorry if this is in the wrong place nice easy lesson for slap begginers (like me!) with TAB
5.
Perhaps, although two bands is enough for me at once tbh I don't think it's a case of being proud of it. If they said we'd like a sound more like "x" to work with the band and possibly something that looks a little more like "x", "y" or "z" then I would be much more inclined as they are involving me in the decision making process for the instrument I have to play. I just don't like the idea of "play this or else". Honestly though I play music for fun and stress relief, not on a professional basis so feel free to disregard it based on that. But were you given a choice in the matter?
x? y? Z? i didnt know geddy played a Thunderbird! Hey, if thats the gig play whatever the f**k they say!
6.
I think you underestimate me... as soon as anyone turned round and said I HAD to play a certain bass or I'm out then they can swivel (short of Dream Theater or other epic band)
maybe thats why you havent been asked yet!
7. Matsumoku 82 aria pro II with EMG active pup £200 pickup?...............
8. i used to have a selmer treble n bass 50. Incredibly loud but broke up too low for any usefulness for me, not nearly enough clean headroom, amazing for guitar though! Sold it on ebay for £170 wish i had kept it now for our guitarist
9. ok so heres my humble pedalboard
10. "are you using 2 separate volume controls, one for each pickup, or it a master volume plus blend setup?" yeah 2 seperate volume controls. Thanks for the advice guys, gonna look at upgrade pots, especially the non solder one! Thanks!
11. thats weird i just asked a very similar question today! I would say its not normal for a spanking new P, however have you tried it with a different amp and/or speakers first?
12. Hi Guys im sure something like this has been discussed before but here goes. I currently use an '82 - '51 reissue JV squier P (with modded jazz pup) with SD quarter pounders, it sounds ace and i love it as my own child! However, and i guess this may be fairly common, its not very "smooth" when turning up or down the volume, or adjusting the treble or even switching between pups. It sorta goes from nothing to 100% way before i've fully finished turning the controls. Switching between pups doesnt blend particulaly well either, again kind of all or nothing between the P or the J. Is this a pot control issue? Maybe the electrics are shot or just crap? Is there somewhere i could purchase an "upgrade" for the internal bits for P basses? Sorry if i sound a bit of a luddite, but I can just about change Pups with a solder so is this a DIY job or a trip down to Mansons Exeter!!? Thanks for any advice!
13. I dream of audiences of more than 20 never mind 200....

PA Systems

we have used thomman speakon and xlr cables for a couple of years now with no problems. Good value. We use EV 767a vocal mic's and SM58's for guitar amp to PA reviews here http://www.gearslutz.com/board/low-end-theory/475495-my-entirely-subjective-review-beta58a-vs-sennheiser-e935-vs-ev-767a.html
15. first gig always a hard one! Well done and i hope you build upon the success!
16. PS my next purchase will also be a super 12! Cant wait!
17. ha ha, don't be scared! i use the PF-500 with a DHA VT-2, so i get tubey- pre- warmth with the light weight convieniance of the PF-500. So far the PF-500 has been very reliable and plenty loud for gigs. Whether it sounds like an ampeg is a bit of a sticking point as its my first ampeg so i have nothing to compare it to!
18. sorry but i dont see the point in the roadworns at all. I got a great '82 JV squier P/J here on basschat thats looks roadworn because it is roadworn (30 years roadworn!) and it sounds and plays amazing, plus it was only £450 quid. Why buy essentially a fake look when there are some amazing genuine "vintage" axes out there for half the money?
19.
Yep, I use even cheaper flatwounds than Rich does (I tried the ones he uses, I didn't get on with them). They are nice. When I do use rounds, I use Legacys, they are around £8 a set, and absolutely fine.
yep gig with the legacy's and i find em fine!
20. got a BYOC delay, its awesome, its also for sale....
