  1. If I have to make the effort to learn the bloody song then so should the singer!
  2. https://www.facebook.com/reel/1045764070225703 Nice innit?
  3. Ive gone down the ipad, m vave bluetooth midi switch pedal and an app called dreamfoot, the possibilities are quite exciting. So far its only cost me £75 for a used ipad mini and £30 for the pedal, the app is free. Im still experimenting with it and the garageband app togeather but im able to trigger each chord in sequence for the whole song. Stupidly I started with shine on you crazy diamond which has a stupid amount of chords but its do-able. The app has a few decent synth/organ sounds but you can blend them with all the garageband synths/sounds as well if you prefer them. I think I'll create a post with links when Im confident using it at gigs.
  4. each to their own, not quite my tempo..
  5. Sorry I meant the mpk mini play which does come with inbuilt sounds. Ammended the titile.
  6. I currently use a digitech jam man stereo pedal to play background keys/drones etc with the band. Unfortunately its a little cumberson and fiddly with my clown shoes feet. So thinking of getting one of those akai mpk mini Play mk 3 keyboards with onboard sounds. Is it possible to assign for example an organ sound in the key of Gminor to one of the pads and then say Cmajor to the next one etc? Thanks
  7. I had one, it's big innit? TBH I can't really hear much difference between comp pedals but then my hearing is really terrible and I play in a pretty loud band. As above Ovnilab is your friend. I've gone back to using my bulletproof and trusty old Boss LMB3 and its fine. If I could afford a real one ( I have a fake) I would get a Origin effects cali76.
  8. I haven't used an amp for a couple of years now. Bass into pedal board including zoom B1Four and Laney Digbeth preamp, straight into desk/PA In ear monitoring for the guitars and vocals and the best bit, a Porter and Davies KT platform for bass and drums. My Ampeg head and stack sits quietly in the garage these days Must get round to selling it..
  9. I found mine a bit noisy so Ive gone back to my trust old boss LMB 3. The difference a compressor makes in our gig level volume negates any fancy compression IMO.
  10. My lad graduates from UWE next week with a 2:1 from exactly the same course. He wanted a macbook pro so we got him a used one for about £300 as I recall. Pretty sure its only 8GB RAM but it handled most stuff they threw at him. Its still going (unlike most of his iphones) and got him through his degree running Logic and pro tools including some light video editing for his final diss.
  11. does anybody actually use reverb or delay at a gig?
  12. Epic pedalboard failure for our guitarist last night. His Golden plexi pedal started smelling really bad and stopped working halfway through the second set. Then he found all his other pedals after that one also didn't work and he thought they had all blown as well, (2 delays and a phaser). So he had to go straight into the amp, no fx, sounded pretty awful to my ears but we soldiered through. I took his pedals home and apart from the plexi they all work fine so its probably a power brick issue or patch leads. He was well relieved when I called him this morning (he's not very good with anything Tech related)
  13. Open Mic. A barefaced one ten would be an excellent pairing https://barefacedaudio.com/products/one_10
  14. I think any legit message would just ask you to go to their site and log in there rather than click on a link from an email.
  15. actually having another think if you really want to try something for virtually no money get a used zoom B1-Four
  16. another vote for the Laney Digbeth, it sounds great, built like a tank and very reasonable price. https://www.gak.co.uk/en/laney-db-pre-digbeth-bass-preamp-pedal?gclsrc=aw.ds&gad_source=1&gclid=Cj0KCQjwir2xBhC_ARIsAMTXk84iMLMLOqY2sDoJloqG_tC_0tM-CucXOzdh3aKHxcBNYnXxCiyZ8U8aAiMuEALw_wcB
  17. burnin sky video compressed.mp4
  18. Played a pub in Exeter, best not not name it. Bit of a spoons look to it and its big Lovely lovely landlord. So maybe 70 or 80 people in there but felt half empty. We played pretty well but just no atmosphere. Couple of punters came up and aked for biz cards and I had run out, typical! Been playing there for years but Im beginning to wonder if its worth it. Good money too...
