  1. much less latency and a warmer sound but to be fair we're comparing something probably 10 years old to a brand new unit, I imagine the 3rd Gen 2i2 is a great piece of kit as well.
  2. Well I've just taken delivery of the ID4 and all I can say is wow, zero latency and amazing warmth through the Jfet DI, really solid construction, so far I'm really really impressed.
  3. And Sold! Someone got a bargain there, love my VT 2, would never sell it.
  4. yeah that's right, one is a mic/jack input, the other a line input only, so you could record vocals and guitar at the same time on 2 seperate tracks, is that right? I went with the ID4 over the evo as it looks a little more sturdy (aluminium)
  5. So I've pulled the trigger on the Audient ID4, my old 2i2 is playing up a bit (I think) and I fancied a change, and it would appear contrary to some reviews the ID4 has 2 inputs. The 2i2 has been a great little unit, I'm going to lend it to our guitarist (along with an old imac) so we can keep writing during lockdown. Great to hear all the different views on here.
  6. c'mon own up, who paid on here for that tat?!!
  7. The Akai mini play also has onboard sounds as well, although the reviews say they aint great https://www.thomann.de/gb/akai_mpk_miniplay.htm?glp=1&gclid=EAIaIQobChMIyMqy2abK6QIVxbTtCh2r7QXAEAYYASABEgIlTPD_BwE
  8. There's loads to choose from and I've only ever had ones by M-Audio which I've found to be pretty reliable. If I could choose again though I'd probably try and get one with full sized keys. https://www.thomann.de/gb/miditech_midistart_music_25.htm
  9. xlr to 1/4 inch jack sounds like the culprit (possibly), doesn't he behringer have xlr in? Or alternatively just go go bass to behringer and use amps in your DAW, the less connections, the better
  10. it's me and Mrs Skidders secret guilty pleasure..shhh..
  11. Thanks for that, I might go for the ID4, the DI in looks impressive and the pre amps are supposed to be fantastic although my old 212 is pretty decent
  12. let us know what you think of it. I'm thinking of upgrading my first gen focusright 2i2
  13. markbass all the way, light, powerful, looks cool, go used and you can always sell on for little loss
  14. can't see a price anywhere and its not available...
  15. Roswell? Password protected? Corona? ...Aliens? Conspiracy?
  16. I love listening to isolated bass tracks. When you hear them like this you realise that most of them aren't really too difficult or fast but in the mix they sound amazing. Even YYZ in isolation sounds (just) do-able if you put the work in, the little solo runs are even punched in!
