  1. Thanks for that, I might go for the ID4, the DI in looks impressive and the pre amps are supposed to be fantastic although my old 212 is pretty decent
  2. let us know what you think of it. I'm thinking of upgrading my first gen focusright 2i2
  3. markbass all the way, light, powerful, looks cool, go used and you can always sell on for little loss
  4. can't see a price anywhere and its not available...
  5. same here this morning, horrible!
  6. Roswell? Password protected? Corona? ...Aliens? Conspiracy?
  7. love that T bird! Pricey though..
  8. I love listening to isolated bass tracks. When you hear them like this you realise that most of them aren't really too difficult or fast but in the mix they sound amazing. Even YYZ in isolation sounds (just) do-able if you put the work in, the little solo runs are even punched in!
  9. now you've got me looking at their DOODAD basses!
  10. ah just up the road from me...tempted...
  11. ah the Volounteer in Honiton eh?
  12. yeah good call, if it's a stinky poo pub, play once and never go back (if you all agree), they're usually pretty obvious.
  13. only ever seen two punch ups in ten years (due to the age of the punters!) and they were nowhere near the band. The hassle of the setup and takedown is something you have to accept (I hate it but there you go). I love the beer money, it lets me buy all my gear and GAS. TBH I haven't missed gigging over the last 2 months (and the 8 gigs we lost) but I always say that but actually enjoy it on the night. I would say think about it carefully as if you join the band then change your mind after a couple of gigs you'd be letting the lads down.

  15. so looking at some more info, it would appear that the original B3 could be used as a 2 in/out audio interface but the newer B3n dropped that feature. If that's true that's a mahoosive deal breaker for the newer version IMO, I'd love to see some video of the older B3 used as a Audio Interface but I can't find any.
  16. so was the Audio Interface discontinued on the B3N? That's a trick missed by zoom if I ever heard one, what a great feature that is!
  17. i used to do it with my digitec RP1 many moons ago and had some awesome results as the reverbs were so good on that old thing, hence why I thought it might be worth a try
  18. I own a scarletti Audio interface and its great but I also have one of these for a fiver and believe it or not it actually sounds ok, try one from the out of your zoom into it and into the PC (grab yourself a free copy of Reaper and some ASIO4all drivers, again free) https://www.wish.com/product/561ba5653b283f11a73ff5f0?hide_login_modal=true&from_ad=goog_shopping&_display_country_code=GB&_force_currency_code=GBP&pid=googleadwords_int&c={campaignId}&ad_cid=561ba5653b283f11a73ff5f0&ad_cc=GB&ad_curr=GBP&ad_price=5.00&campaign_id=8703990225&retargeting=true&gclid=Cj0KCQjwka_1BRCPARIsAMlUmErkb44zYqu_07W96vReJPloWhIJR4qi701jzG373KQYzo7nZmB_n-YaAgrgEALw_wcB&share=web If you need to vocals through your zoom, you'll probably need an XLR to Jack adaptor https://cpc.farnell.com/pro-signal/psg00747/xlr-socket-to-6-3mm-plug-2m/dp/AV14233?mckv=sdxyiv9In_dc|pcrid|416803506677|kword||match||plid||slid||product|AV14233|pgrid|99626856931|ptaid|pla-896742109818|&CMP=KNC-GUK-CPC-&gclid=Cj0KCQjwka_1BRCPARIsAMlUmEoD1alcMNhjUHyLgKukvJLMkDhJhYz9abxmFOqTbtY2IUqfp-fb2gMaAkoOEALw_wcB
  19. Thanks for that. So you're using dropbox for large wav files I guess? I'll probably just use medium quality mp3 files and email everyone who can then download the files and drag them onto a new track on GB before adding their parts. Up until Feb our guitarist didn't even have an email, smartphone, FB account or any social media profile (all of which I sorted as "leader" of this band) so it's going to be quite a learning curve for him on GB but he's full of ideas so it'll be great to get him up and running if possible. Thanks for your input . PS it was thanks to you that I manged to get an older version of GB on both my older Imacs.
  20. nice playing sir! And a nice sound, what are you playing into?
  21. so as the lockdown continues and the gigging has been mothballed for probably the end of the year I've managed to get everyone in the band on garageband, loaned out old macs to the not so tech savvy guitarist etc.. The idea is that the guitarist has at least 4 or 5 ideas to put down, send em to me (all click tracked), I put bass parts down, then to the drummer, then finally the singer, you get the idea Has anyone tried anything like this? I know you can share files but what's the quickest and most convenient way to share this stuff? There's email, icloud, messaging, whatsapp...anyone else doing this and their advice would be appreciated.
  22. That's an awful lot of bespoke hand made bass for very little money..
  23. Anyone seen these before? I found them after looking on the Electra website. I bought my son a 1976 Electra Alvin Bishop 335 for his birthday (ok for me really!) and it's a beautiful thing but I didn't realise the company had resurrected itself and did this quite nice looking bass, double P config as well with block inlay neck. https://www.electraguitar.com/pages/electra-phoenix-bass and they stock them in Europe for about a grand which isn't too steep, I'd love to try one. https://www.go4-music.de/de/baesse/e-baesse/electra-phoenix-bass-black-4-string-inkl-gigbag.html
