  1. https://classicandcoolguitars.co.uk/portfolio/custom-made-51p/ or this as a curveball, I've tried it at Mark's and its stunning https://classicandcoolguitars.co.uk/portfolio/1978-yamaha-bb1000-with-original-case/
  2. You sound like you're more knowledgeable than me when it comes to this stuff. I was going to suggest giving PSP Vintage warmer a trial. I think it works in garageband, I use it a lot to give that bit of boost and sparkle you were talking about, especially for band gigs and rehearsals.
  3. what app are you using on your ipad to record rehearsals? If you're using a DAW I could offer suggestions but I don't know your ipad process for recording your rehearsals.
  4. I've been watching you..especially you...
  5. Ron Carter No 1, end of... and Bobby Vega at 92? This list is a subjective joke!
  6. The OP has gone with the zoom, will be good to hear how they get on with it The spitfire stuff is amazing for free, I've downloaded a ton of their offerings, all quality
  7. just seen this for £79 which is a bit more but it comes with some great software including Guitar Rig 5 Pro plus MASCHINE Essentials, Ableton Live Lite, MONARK, and top NI effects plus its in stock https://www.pmtonline.co.uk/native-instruments-komplete-audio-1?utm_source=google&utm_medium=shopping&gclid=CjwKCAjwqJ_1BRBZEiwAv73uwBDLB78GeOgYdMMETT47dhMvmdIEkZZlIjWGSlvpD9ft7ArZYocW9BoC3iMQAvD_BwE
  8. Just out of interest, why the zoom? If it was me I'd probably go for the behringer UMC22 with its midas pre amps (if you can find one) edit, I've seen how hard these are to find and the ebay prices for new and used AI's are going a bit silly at the moment with this lockdown malarky, a bit like gym equipment and pushbikes. The zoom is at least in stock https://www.dv247.com/en_GB/GBP/Zoom-U-22/art-REC0012645-000?campaign=GShopping/UK&ProgramUUID=HADAqJarPzAAAAFlea9yjI.G&gclid=CjwKCAjwqJ_1BRBZEiwAv73uwAMsByKYfrQzZpU3Gjq7Vs2uWvbVs9v801CYz_QYcI03BwWgMFvVghoCor8QAvD_BwE
  9. That squier at nearly 400 quid is way overpriced IMO. And I'm talking as someone who's spent daft money on an 82 squier MIJ. You'd be better off with all due respect to get one secondhand on here or something similar but from a different brand. If I had to start all over again (and wanted to buy new) I'd be looking at the Sire Marcus Miller P7, super super versatile and great quality https://www.thomann.de/gb/marcus_miller_p7_alder_4_aw_2nd_gen.htm?glp=1&gclid=CjwKCAjwqJ_1BRBZEiwAv73uwEbgoULfkPVixsnhCqRb7vfj117wvYwsbQshfrME2ErCrwMP5hSB9BoCV8YQAvD_BwE But as I said, second hand is the way to go to get the best bang for buck, whatever you do good luck and welcome to the rebel alliance! PS there's a fender MIM on here for £450 that might be what you're after
  10. you'll need something to turn your analogue signal from your bass and effects pedals in to the digital info that goes into the PC, ie an interface. There are various ways of doing this but in all honesty for 30 quid just get one of these and be done with it https://www.gak.co.uk/en/behringer-u-phoria-um2/90096?gclid=Cj0KCQjwhZr1BRCLARIsALjRVQMorOnOSMFySlrjAbvzu5s9KIR88u9BzKzpKqnHZulbB_WC2SFOVMQaAhUAEALw_wcB&gclsrc=aw.ds or for another tenner https://www.gak.co.uk/en/behringer-u-phoria-umc22/90091?gclid=Cj0KCQjwhZr1BRCLARIsALjRVQOJe1lvlw6LdS-dMLi1ITT78drY0bGfpe6pnGLf6b-d05UfXu4CcGIaAs_LEALw_wcB&gclsrc=aw.ds I have a scarletti 2i2 and its ace, a few more quid though
  11. following on from an isolated bass topic, I came across this and thought I'd share for anyone who hasn't heard it before (ie me) Didn't realise what an awesome piece of playing was on this track, the double time is fantastic towards the end https://www.notreble.com/buzz/2015/02/14/lynyrd-skynyrd-free-bird-ed-kings-isolated-bass/
  12. that straplock is now officially called a 'Taint ....
  13. looks it, actually it says so in the post.
  14. bought PA gear off them before, no problems..
  15. very melodic, I enjoyed that, lots of Stanley Clarke in there..
  16. ooo I like those enhanced bass!
  17. I'd love this for my lad whos really into his jazz guitar, but there's a slight issue with travel at the moment! GLWTS
  18. that's interesting, I didn't know that, will check it out thanks.
  19. Noooooooo! Beyond my knowledge! I use an active one, well it's a tube preamp pedal with DI out actually so best to refer to expert opinion on here regards proper DI boxes, this thread has got me searching around for one for our guitarist.
  20. possibly, but I read some reviews at Sound on Sound of the Orchid DI boxes and they compare very favourably against the Radial for a fraction of the price (and they're built here in Exeter!) http://orchid-electronics.co.uk/Sound-On-Sound_Orchid_DI_Boxes_review.PDF
  21. Handy when your amp dies on it's bum, happened a few times to me, also great when you don't want to lug your amp to a gig and just use the PA
  22. That's great, but this is still the definitive version IMO and a great bass Tone (keeping it on topic!)
