Possibly different pots? The pickups sound like they have different outputs (er..obviously) same year? New or secondhand? Someone may have changed the pups? - edit.. you say they're both origional.

I would always come here first to buy or trade a bass (and have done a few) but for selling other stuff, especially guitars, I've found the FB marketplace excellent as well as gumtree, ebay is a big no no for selling these days as far as I'm concerned.

Sandberg was by far more clear sounding, the other 3 were quite muddy in comparison but I wonder if that was due to the strings, were they all the same? I can't believe there would be such a difference if they all had the same strings on.

I'd tell 'em I'd do the gig and then on the day just not turn up, stuff them, appalling behaviour and I hope it brings them crashing down in a pile of flames. You put in over 4 years of faithfully turning up to gigs and rehersals with a car crash of a drummer and this how they treat you after all you've been through? Can't believe people would even think about "honouring" this forthcoming gig, you don't treat people like that and then have the bl@ddy nerve to ask them to play on! What?!! Scr3w 'em all!!!! Edit..written after drink was consumed and I'm not really that Mardi-honest!
