  1. I'd be equally angry at the venue manager cancelling the gig because one person decides to throw their toys out of the pram, surely that's not normal practice? There must be someone else in 3 bands or at the venue capable of rumming a basic desk?
  2. Nano Bassballs, velcro on the bottom, good condition £40 delivered
  3. Thats interesting, thanks, so 2 x 12's would be more suitable?
  4. we have 2 x 15 active RCF's and 1 x Mackie sub, everything is mic'd to FOH, but only the Kick, Toms and Bass through the Sub with high pass filter. The bass is turned way down through the sub, with the emphasis on the kick for that thud in the chest without mud. So IMO deffo no sub for backline, strictly FOH, but possibly not necessary for quality 15" PA Tops and a good quality Bass Backline, especially if we're talking Dog n Duck territory. PS Mackie subs are terrible, should have gone for another RCF
  5. nah its gone May have to pull the trigger on the DV247 new one..
  6. Might be able to get one for £75, negotiating right now!
  7. The only ones ive seen on ebay are all more expensive used than a new one from Thomman or DV247! Have you seen a cheaper used one?
  8. Thanks, Im looking for a used Jamman pedal, hopefully it can switch between pre recorded loops in playback with the integrated up/down switch
  9. Your Zoom sounds like your Warwick Blue 15, not an 810 stack even if it says SVT 810 on the tin, I've had both (Zoom and Ampeg) and the zoom sure don't sound like my Ampeg, you can't emulate that word that shall not be mentioned beginning with H and ending in T with a simulator IMO. That being said, you're right about the punters not giving a toss, go through the PA with your zoom and save your back
  10. I've tried these, they're not too shabby, although I now use Elixr's £4.25 a pop https://www.thomann.de/gb/harley_benton_valuestrings_bassguitar_medium.htm
  11. Looks nice, great price, anyone had a go on one? https://www.thomann.de/gb/harley_benton_enhanced_mj_4mn_natural.htm?utm_source=facebook.com&utm_campaign=hotproducts&utm_medium=cpc&utm_content=[443525]+%23Uk+%23Harley+Benton+%23+Harley+Benton+Enhanced+MJ-4MN+Natural+%23GI+%232019-02-26+08%3A53%3A12+%23new+%23£258.65+%23lookalike&fbclid=IwAR35iEloaYfZNSUahd3bD5lnRasCzNVSPnOVcuw3kjZy444uyit4Z2tqmfA
  12. Yeah Black would look good but 300 sovs is a risk too far IMO to be modding it
  13. That gold hardware is Fugly as Fug no matter who designed it!
  14. check out the tasty bass playing, great harmonies, they were a great band https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=imZUqkPlUaQ
  15. Wow weird or what? Just woke up from a horrible nightmare. In it, I went to a famous custom luthier just to look at his work and the next thing I know he's building me this incredible thing made from exotic materials and I don't know how much its going to cost. I didn't want him to start it but he was really keen and just got on with it and Im fretting and anxious about the cost. Finally he tells me it'll be in the 13 grand region ( I thought maybe 2 grand!) and I have to tell him I can't afford it. He looks all disappointed and a bit upset but tells me it's ok and I wake up feeling incredibly guilty, like it's all my fault. What the hecks that all about?!
  16. We had the XR18, amazing bit of kit but way too complicated for us, as the drummer set the levels and then we just wanted to get on with it. We're just a 3 piece with no soundman so we went back to analogue desk (RCF). The XR18 is a learning curve, no mistake.
  17. I loved what looked like a Precision? And the Sunn/acoustic amp head? The 335 wasn't too shabby either! Bottoms up!
  18. I always found screws tend to come loose, hence why I prefer bolts, but if it works for you, great! Wheels had to be placed a little off the edge of the cab in order to get the bolts into the body of the cab, makes it a little less stable though, you're right.
  19. just take out the speaker, takes 2 minutes.
  20. ok gigged it on Friday, it held up well with the marshall 100w stack and heavy drummer. Didn't really get a chance to play with the EQ, so had everything on flat, running from my pedalboard with a valve pre eq pedal. Sounded fine, maybe a little woolly compared to my 410, but perfectly usable, some adjustments will help for sure, but certainly less agro carting around than my head and cab, don't care if it gets a bit bashed. Fitted some wheels and side handles, cost for the lot £25, so in all, a giggable combo for £90
