Wow weird or what? Just woke up from a horrible nightmare. In it, I went to a famous custom luthier just to look at his work and the next thing I know he's building me this incredible thing made from exotic materials and I don't know how much its going to cost. I didn't want him to start it but he was really keen and just got on with it and Im fretting and anxious about the cost. Finally he tells me it'll be in the 13 grand region ( I thought maybe 2 grand!) and I have to tell him I can't afford it. He looks all disappointed and a bit upset but tells me it's ok and I wake up feeling incredibly guilty, like it's all my fault. What the hecks that all about?!

We had the XR18, amazing bit of kit but way too complicated for us, as the drummer set the levels and then we just wanted to get on with it. We're just a 3 piece with no soundman so we went back to analogue desk (RCF). The XR18 is a learning curve, no mistake. -
I loved what looked like a Precision? And the Sunn/acoustic amp head? The 335 wasn't too shabby either! Bottoms up!

I always found screws tend to come loose, hence why I prefer bolts, but if it works for you, great! Wheels had to be placed a little off the edge of the cab in order to get the bolts into the body of the cab, makes it a little less stable though, you're right.

Peavey TNT 130 vs Ashdown electric Blue 180
skidder652003 replied to skidder652003's topic in Amps and Cabs
ok gigged it on Friday, it held up well with the marshall 100w stack and heavy drummer. Didn't really get a chance to play with the EQ, so had everything on flat, running from my pedalboard with a valve pre eq pedal. Sounded fine, maybe a little woolly compared to my 410, but perfectly usable, some adjustments will help for sure, but certainly less agro carting around than my head and cab, don't care if it gets a bit bashed. Fitted some wheels and side handles, cost for the lot £25, so in all, a giggable combo for £90 -
ok have fitted them, pretty sturdy, came with bolts as well. However only downside is they are NOT rubberised wheels, rather hard plastic which will be fine for carpet and wooden floors but not pavements etc..Its not a problem really as I use a sack truck most times anyway, but I'd probably look for rubber wheels next time, they are however excellnt value for money and come with 2 locking wheels in a set of 4. wheels.zip

So my band have had the brilliant idea of having a go at the first bit of Shine on You Crazy diamond, the bit just after THAT guitar intro. I've made the backing organ samples and put them into my Nux Loop Core Pedal. So for example the Gm organ chord is on patch 5, the C Organ chord on Patch 6 and so on untill all the chords are in sequence for the length of the piece we are going to play. Problem is now being able to move between patches. This particular Nux Loop core doesnt come with a switch pedal although it has a jack input for one. So Im wondering if I get a simple switch up/down pedal whether I'll be able to switch through the samples with my foot. Why don't you just record the whole lot in one patch you ask? Because I'm concerned that the Drummer and the rest of us won't know when the chord changes will occour and I would like to be able to trigger them manually. Is this making any sense? Will another more sophisticated loop pedal do this, ie a Jam Man or something similar, ie scroll between playback of different loops with an up/down footswitch?

After fairly extensive "research" regarding castors for my newly aquired Peavey TNT 130, I've ordered these at the very reasonable price of £9.99 for 4 x 75mm heavy duty castors (2 locking). https://www.amazon.co.uk/Rubber-Swivel-Castor-Trolley-Furniture/dp/B017GLNHEG/ref=ya_st_pd_dx_rtpb_1/261-6008427-0212113?_encoding=UTF8&pd_rd_i=B017GLNHEG&pd_rd_r=c055cf77-3be2-48d3-898f-9e77e4272889&pd_rd_w=k8Sjz&pd_rd_wg=hydxd&psc=1&refRID=019FPN5D5XCCQ4T62AXK I'll fit them over the weekend (come with bolts apparently) and post on what I think of them a bit later.

Being let down due to illness or personal crisis is perfectly acceptable but being let down due to simply getting a better offer is beyond contempt. I would never work with someone like that again, they will let you down time after time.

Great advice, luckily most bass players I know don't possess the same attitude as a lot of guitar players/singers

Wow, just scrolling through this thread and a distinct lack of Fender Precisions on everyones list, guess there's one bass to rule 'em all eh?

ok I offered £11.47, got refused..will it affect my credit rating? -
I've said it before but I'll say it again, nothing beats my Dave Hall VT-2 for adding tube warmth to my solid state amps, sadly they're no longer made as Dave passed away last year. If you can get your hands on a used one, you won't go wrong, there's an older thread here
