  1. Got my lad this Tele copy and its fantastic, and I know cr*p when I play it (you should hear me), so for the money they're usually pretty good https://www.thomann.de/gb/harley_benton_hbt1952.htm
  2. £158 worth a punt, can even return it if its sh*te https://www.thomann.de/gb/harley_benton_mm_84a_sb_deluxe_series.htm
  3. Mad. I like gumtree, used it lots to buy and sell, the whole point of it being local and cash based.
  4. I used to run an old peavey power amp in bridge mode, think it cost £150, 1500 watts or something at 4 ohms, tons and tons of reserves of power, was great!
  5. the newer delux core bundle might not have that problem
  6. yeah the scrolling via footswitch would be useful, forunately theres probably only going to be 3 or 4 times I use it so bending down to change patches is fine. I have to confess that I wasn't able to load samples via the usb/PC interface, theres some info on youtube about how difficult that is (to do with bitrate and renaming the files), so I just played the sounds out of my PC speaker headphone socket into the loop pedal and saved them on the pedal, works fine.
  7. https://www.thedailymash.co.uk/news/arts-entertainment/reading-festival-boasts-best-ever-line-up-of-people-to-throw-fosters-at-20180824176644 bloomin swear checker, substitue fosters for PI55
  8. Look how far down the list is John Martyn and Danny Thompson, Id have paid just to see them!
  9. Hi folks just thought I would let you all know I've got the Nux Loop core running on my pedal board. Its got 99 memory slots for saving loops so for my use I downloaded some moog drone in E and some birdsong and then loaded it onto slot 1 and hey presto opening of Rush's Xanadu (for our medley)! Also have an air raid siren going in slot 2 for opening of War Pigs. I think for £65 (BAX) its not too bad a way of triggering effects or even backing tracks, but I'll let you know how it pans out in a gig (Sat), anyone else use something similar for this little money (im a terrible tightwad)??
  10. same here, what sad news, he was very helpful to my enquiries, I have his VT2 eq preamp pedal and its brilliant, RIP Dave..
  11. was it a US seller? Not of course to stereotype but they seem to have a more erm "aggresive" style of salesmanship, the hustle and all that, and not getting the deal done is a big cultural no no.
  12. saw a pub band once wearing t shirts with "crew" on the back whilst setting up, then get changed into civvies for the gig
  13. nah you're ok, blokes who like they just stepped out of the sitting room on stage look rubbish, black is a "safe space"
  14. that was great until the end, it sounded sh*te!!
  15. My local is Mansons which for bass is Ok but really great for guitars, Ive never bought new but they have a great pre owned selection, many times popped in for a mooch and ended up walking out with something (Ampeg SVT-CL once, didn't see that one coming!)
  16. Great gig at the Marine in Sidmouth, it was the first night of Folk week so the resort is jammed and the pub was packed, Got fed and free drinks and paid an extra 100 quid of our usual fee, great landlord, great gig!
  17. A pedal will never replace a 2nd guitarist, just enjoy the space you've been given and fill it tastefully, I would never go back to a 4/5 piece band, if its good enough for Cream, Rush, Hendrix...PS the money's better
  18. I use the DI out on my DHA pre amp pedal rather than the ampeg DI as Im paranoid about the valve amp going belly up halfway through a gig and I always have a back up plan!
  19. I thought you said "camp" for a moment there...
