Bedec Multi Surface paint? Is it black? I use it on all sorts, wood, plastic and metal. Super handy stuff.

All good points folks. I will say that the tactile control of hardware (ie sliders and knobs) on the Livetrack has been super useful for us as we don't have a soundman and our drummer puts the console by the side of his kit. This is useful for quick adjustments to the sound once we get going if necessary, ie more vocal in the monitor, less guitar out front (the usual). We do a sound check out front with the ipad (singer does this) but theres always usually a reason to adjust once we start and the zoom does this nice and quick. We found faffing on a tablet midway through a gig was a bit of a pain/stressful. Luckily we are all apple fans so no issues with the ipad but it is daft that they haven't incorporated Android.

Zoom Live Track L-20 user here. We had the Behringer XR18 about 5 years ago, although it is a fantastic bit of kit we kept it for about 3 months and moved it on as the lack of a physical fader type consol was off putting. IMO the zoom has pretty much most of the benefits of the XR18 for our needs at least, I really like the ability to record 20 seperate tracks (stems) on an SD card straight off the console to load into my DAW for mixing. Plus it can also be used with an ipad for remote walk about mixing like the XR18. Awesome preamps as well. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3zySOqjdaMA

How are you getting your bass sound into your computer?

That jfet input into the audient is pretty sweet on its own IMO, keep it simple, maybe a little compression vst but thats it. -
true!

same here, Im very impressed with my origin effects stacked compressor knock off from LYR. Took a couple of weeks to arrive but so far its been flawless. -
Even where I live in the sticks of Devon my local charges £6 quid a pint. I'm frankly amazed anyone can afford to come out and watch a band for free these days, never mind pay for a ticket as well. Hope the gig goes well regardless. Sometimes its crushing when you outnumber the punters but sometimes it can be fantastic. We played a tiny place last night but there must have been 30/40 people crammed into it so it felt packed!

with the back of Hercules.

nah..it wouldn't sell...

Love them both but that Ibanez is absoloutely stunning.

All good advice. Boost your mids and cut a little low end just for starters. See if that helps cut through.

fair point. Just a suggestion for something different.

The detail is in the "free" department! As in time or money!?? -
I guess those 100's of top international bands using them must be pretty static on stage then..oh well. Im not sure you get the concept of the thing either, you can actually hear the bass as well believe it or not, hey you can even use a monitor and/or IEM's as well if you want!

Try a Porter and davies platform. The feel of a huge stack behind you, every note and harmonic through your body, locked into the drummers kick and snare, whatever you like, also going into the platform. I've had in ears, didn't like the isolation from the audience or the other band members. I have the full fat SVT and 410, don't like the weight. Last couple of gigs has just been Digbeth pre pedal to the desk and desk to platform, was fantastic. Certainly recommend a go on one if you get the opportunity. some bands use them. https://www.porteranddavies.co.uk/bands/

OBS as I remember using it was for live streaming mainly . For post production video, (ie matching your desk audio to your video cameras and doing some basic scene transitions ), the best by far that is free is DaVinci Resolve (The free version). However its a heck of a learning curve and I and many others on here have been using Reaper (there's a free unlimited trial version) thats is super fast for matching several video cameras to a single master audio and doing multiple camera angles onto one master track. There's also loads of super useful videos to show you how to do it on Youtube, and its easy once you've done one or two. Here's an example of my shower https://www.facebook.com/jeffersonarchive/videos/752899556047043

we made 100 CD's of an album of origionals. Managed to sell them all in about 2 years at gigs and a few online via facebook. Think they cost about £4 each with nice colour booklet. We sold them for a tenner so made some profit. However we have had some cheaper ones made and are selling them for a fiver but it feels this year less people are buying CD's, so I guess its a shrinking format. T shirts on the other hand have gone great. Think we've sold maybe 50 so far at £15 a pop. So deffo think T shirts (Black and white to keep cost down and make sure you have size large as the most numerous size!) and here's a really good bit of advice..get a card reader, people dont carry cash these days and if the've had a few drinks will get our their card or phone and buy a T much more readily than using cash. Edit, just seen what Big Red said, exactly that!
