  1. just got a five from here, a lovely Ray 5'er, its fab but a bit of a learning curve! Couldn't go to a six ever, I'd look even more uncool on stage!
  2. check by your porch at 10.30 this morning and get back to us!
  3. I think the NUX does the same as the RC3, how do you scroll between loops?
  4. Ive just noticed theres a usb port on my nux loop core pedal, Im going to see if theres some way of using that.
  5. yeah its just one sound effect per song, TBH theres only about 3 songs in the set that need it, we manage fine without but it was fun when we had them from the drumpad
  6. I thought for a minute you were accusing me of being an alcoholic!
  7. Anyone can help me here? so our set consists of several songs which on the origional recordings had "effects", ie "stone cold crazy" has a police siren, war pigs has an air raid siren, xanadu has a moog drone and birds in the background etc..Does anyone know an easy and cheap(!) way of triggering those effects with a footswitch into our desk? I can get access to the sounds as we used to use a drum pad to trigger them but the drummer can't be bothered to set it up. I was thinking of something like a midi unit with a footswitch? Any ideas??
  8. Ive got the Scarlett 2i2, its ok, nothing special, you can pick them up cheap as chips used
  9. i bought my lad a harley benton tele, this one https://www.thomann.de/gb/harley_benton_hbt1952.htm i have to say for the money its very very good, lovely wood, decent hardware and nice pups, seriously worth considering, think they have a decent returns policy too
  10. yooowser!!!!! me likey bump!
  11. a used ibanez SR 300 would be a great first bass as they have lovely thin necks.
  12. Thank you all everyone, its been a real quick education. In the end Ive got myself an imac from this here very parish, as ever Basschat come up with the best deals! Having spoken to the college, they use imacs there and can loan out macbooks for live work, so thats the way ive decided to go, more bang for buck over a macbook pro. Thanks everyone, now to find out if I can get a genuine cheap copy of logic (not likely!)
  13. thank folks, im veering towards second hand as im balking at the price of new, can't believe just how expensive the mac book pro's are. Im getting the impression that these things are built to last longer than your average laptop? If anyone could recommend the best way to look for a used macbook ( im wary of ebay)
  14. Hi if this is in the wrong forum mods, please move. My lad is starting college next year doing a btec in music production, we want to treat him to an apple mac as he will be working with Logic, the wife is willing for us to spend up to a grand (lucky lad) to get him the suitable piece of kit, Id rather spend a little less! Ideally we would like to buy new due to warranty etc. I have an scarletti audio interface which I hope will suffice for now as well as an old analogue desk. Any recommendations about the best route to go down would be much appreciated, I realise that I would have to also get my hands on a copy of Logic as well. Should we be lo0oking at laptops or imacs? Its a minefield out there! Im too old for all this! Thanks Guys/gals, as ever the community is brilliant!
  15. just sold an xr-18 to Dunc, lovely fella, no probs, good comms, highly recommended!
  16. yeah i'd say anything under £200 is budget, new or used, some crazy bargains to be had out there, i'd always look second hand for anything under 200
