i find the HLF extremely deep, its a sound I like but to cut through the mix on stage I have to eq the mids right up and roll the bottom off, it still sounds huge though, can't fart it out even with a 300W tube head!

As I recall Plant ducked out of most of the high notes in the film 'The Song Remained The Same' in 1973, so no chance these days. He now lacks power as well as range. IMO etc etc.
To be fair, there aren't many from that era who can still sing. Ian Gillan, probably my favourite male vocalist back in the day, is pitiful. Paul Rogers springs to mind as one of the few who can.

as can Glenn Hughes (k*ob that he is) and Mr Coverdale
no getting away from it Im afraid, they are beasts, I only use mine for gigging, rehersals get the preamp pedal to PA treatment now, like they say, its gets boring very quickly, but you won't get THAT tone any other way.

I wouldn't put much effort or care into a band unlessni was being paid or having a great time doing it.

imagine that happening at the same time......just imagine!
been really enjoying these boys on Radio 6, Feed the Mantaray is a cracking angry punk single IMO.
