1. Lucky boy! There will be no regrets, remember, always have it, and I really mean ALWAYS have it connected to a cab before you switch it on, just sayin"
2. Under The Jasmin Tree by the modern Jazz Quartet on Apple Records Found it in the loft long forgotten on vinyl, enjoying it....cats!
3.
I detest heaving my ampeg rig two n fro practice and sometimes consider a lightweight option......... All that goes when it's fired up :-)
same here, I just DI my DHA VT 2 into the desk at rehersals, keep the lifting for paid gigs!
4. a mere 26kg! now forced to beg wife for help with lifting mine into the car (and the amp)
5. If I didnt love my DHA VT 2 so much, Id have bitten your hand off for this!
6. yes they can be useful if your amp dies halfway through a gig, rather than carting a spare amp about, you simply connect the DI box to the desk and get to the end of the gig. Some like mine also can be used as a valve pre amp, to give you some warmth if your main bass amp is solid state and also if you play a bigger venue with front of house PA and decent stage monitoring and you don't want to lug your amp and cab to the venue, you can just use the DI box, great if your one band amongst many and you only have a short slot!
7. The film whiplash is pretty much about the obsession to play as well as him
8.
HELP I'm desperate to organise a meet up to try out the Basschat 1x12 speakers I've designed. http://basschat.co.u...b-design-diary/ This could be part of the meet up you are talking about or an extra that you'd all be welcome to. I live halfway between Chard and Axminster but practice with my band in Exeter and I'd be happy to do the organisation. Effectively you'd be testing out the beta version of the cabs for me before I build the final version and release the designs, which will be provided free of charge to everyone via Basschat. I'd bring along some basses (American Deluxe P and highway one J) and an amp but would love any other amps/basses to test the speakers with. Ideally I'd want to get on and organise this quickly so the designs can go out, and midweek would be great as one of the delays has been busy weekends gigging but I'm pretty flexible. TBH if I thought I'd get half a dozen people I'd go ahead.
Hey Phil, I can bring the ampeg head to test the cab would be great if you could sort this matey!
9. not my cup of tea looks wise but lovely tone, loved the little run on the demo too!
10.
Unfortunately I had to use google to find out who he was It's not very cool to be honest, the guys older than my dad, and quite frankly should know better.
didn't know who Geezer was? Thats not very cool to be honest!
11. its not the gear thats the problem, it's loosing the paper / e trail that new aquisitions leave behind, that's how i always get caught.
12. don't suppose anyone might know where i could tabs for this by any chance?
13. so far..the svt head, ampeg 410 and fender P (well ok, squire JV), for rock rather than trad jazz.
14. exeter for me! I could hand on the bass relay, its cluttering up my spare room (not really!) and raise some more dosh!
15.
That's very decent of you Hugh We'll probably never know who made the repair but hopefully a new driver will fix the problem.
Im spartacus!
16. IMO you cannot ever replicate an all tube head, however the PF-800 will give you the ampeg sound. As for too loud, is such a thing possible? Simply turn it down!
17. That looks fabulous! Weight?????
