1. always "enter" ie.. walk over to stamp size corner of pub after a piss (can't hold out for 2 sets at my age )
2. plus 1 for Dave Hall Pedals but they are expensive!
3.
Good to hear all is fine. Now you need to get liking the non sugary beverages.
so im thinking G n T with slimline is sugar free right?
4. well after leaving for another day Im pleased to say that the DHA pedal seems to be working well again, all back to normal levels at the moment! So for what it's worth, a good spray of circuit board or contact cleaner seems to have done the trick. Idiot bass player and location of sugary beverage placement, that's another problem altogether. Thanks for all the advice!
5. sorry if this is in the wrong section, mods please move if so. Tim at the lime Tree, Paignton , Devon, needs a band this Saturday if anyone has a free date. He's a good payer (not player!) and its got a decent size stage, lights and big PA. His mobile is 07737 034791. Its the usual 9 - 11.30pm ish. Hope you can help!
6. so...I've opened them up and sprayed the crap out of them with servisol 10 contact cleaner/lubricant. The compressore works fine again! The DHA pre-amp sort of works. When everything is turned up full ie gain, volume and + 15 DB switch it sounds like it did when everything was at it's normal 12 o'clock setting, weird. Im going t leave it 24 hours, spray it again and see what happens. If no joy, I'll contact Dave Hall, wondering if the 2 valves might be shot which would be a relatively inepensive fix!
7. Guys, last night i had an almighty f**kup happen. It was my own stupid fault and after all the years gigging i should have known better. we were mid gig and i had stupidly put a full pint of shandy on a table directly over my pedalboad. You can guess the rest. Basically my whole board took a direct hit, you couldn't have placed it in a more perfect position. The upshot is that my phaser and tuner are ok but my markbass compressore and Dave Hall VT-2 EQ (both valve) aren't responding. They work in bypass mode but the compresorre is intermitent and making some odd noises and the VT-2 doesn't do anything in blue (mono valve) mode or red (duo valve mode). These were bloomin' expensive pedals and Im gutted! Do you think opening them up and spraying with contact cleaner might help, or am I resigned to them to be lost forever or a horribly expensive repair? (god knows where). Has anyone else had something similar happen and if so any tips would be greatly appreciated. Im so angry with myself, the only positive is having taken delivery of an ampeg SVT classic I probably won't need the pedals soon but I was hoping to sell them to pay towards the new amp
8. check out the other items for sale, dodgy watches, shades and baseball bats, theres a real pimp thang going down!!
9. had a 115 and 410 for years. Got rid of the 15 and never looked back, 2 x 410 will sound huge!
10. 80 lbs lack of interest im afraid ( and i should know!)
11. looking at that lot, I think "that" sound is going to stay firmly in your head only!
12. signed, does this relate to the Bristol venue?
13. Nooooooooooooooooooooooo!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Don't empt me!! of cash, or tempt me, damn keyboard...
14. ha I am, but i've survived one round with the wife, don't fancy going another! Unless you fancy a 411 warwick swap?
15.
Lemonrock
this. www.lemonrock.com but it's £30 a year but good for finding venues to play also. We use it and its paid for itself dozens of time over every year.
16. So...had a go at rehearsal tonight, I won't say any more until I've gigged it but a couple of early thoughts. Firstly, it's unbelievably powerful, I didn't go above 3 on gain and 2 on master (compared with halfway on gain and master on my 700W solid state SWR) I ran it through my pedalboard which apart from a Boss TU3 tuner is a Dave Hall Amp VT2-EQ tube pre-amp pedal and a Tube Markbass Compressore, so there's a lot of tubes going around! It's hard to describe the difference with a solid state amp but my initial impression is a thickness or a richness that isn't present in the SWR, and an almost effortless output that didn't feel like it broke a sweat. As I said it's hard to describe but it felt like it was saying " come and have a go if you think you're hard enough", I felt a bit intimidated!
17. ha not vaseline, knackered phone camera, will try it out at tonights rehersal, will let you know what I think!
18. A compressor will do just what you need, evens the volume out, prevents spikes.
19. It's Here! Managed to sweet Talk Mrs Skidders with promises of untold gig riches from the new sweet tone and a somewhat exagerated value placed upon the possible imminent sale of a used SWR..happy days!
