  1. Get some Quo in there. Great for roots and solid playing. Both left and right hand technique. I use it loads with new students.
  2. My Nephew took me too see this guy at PMT in Birmingham many years ago. He was incredible
  3. Ok .I took the output from my Mac into the Aux and used my headphones. it rumbles perfectly well and you can adjust the sensation and intensity of the rumble. So in answer yes it works.
  4. I have no glue on either account. All I can offer is this clip?
  5. Great track. Back at ya.

  12. Hey all. Hope you're well? I never get tired of hearing this arrangement and how it resolves. Please bring you best resolutions to the yard! For me it starts at 3.04 resolves around 4.07
  13. Evening all. Hope you're good? Im using a Persons 16.0.02 desk. I have 4 Aux sends to monitors either in-ear or wedge. Is there a way of enabling each band member to control their own mix? At present they shout instructions whilst I'm playing for maybe the first couple of songs. My multi tasking as front of house engineer, monitoring engineer, bass player and shared singing duties is getting silly. Please tell me there is a really simple piece of outboard or software based kit I can get to just send the awkward bas88rds the signal, so they can create their own levels. We very rarely get time to try things out pre-gig. And the rest of the band have little interest in rehearsing to resolve this issue. I hate hit and miss stuff and I don't think they consider the extra hassle it causes for me. Thanks in advance
  14. I went to see the late great Charles Bradley at the Hare & Hounds in Kingsheath in Birmingham. He was amazing for the 40 odd minutes he was in stage.
  15. Ive always thought he was the bass version of Keith Moon.
  16. Great to read some good news Sam. Take Care
  17. What a combo. Sweet as fook!!
  18. So many to choose from. One of my biggest challenges recently has been using a pick instead of fingers. I’ve struggled to get the same speed. The start of Town called malice was a right nightmare in the beginning. With fingers faultless with pick ridiculous. I agree regarding leaving the line for a period always seems to help.
  19. There are loads of great preamps on the market. I use a Radial Bassbone OD. 2 channel with a handy eb section. Really simple and great quality. Might be worth looking into some preamps
  20. Whilst the late 80’s music curriculum had its limitations, particularly lack of instruments. I was lucky to have a music teacher who encouraged all us who had a passion to hang out in the music rooms. We talked about all the music we were listening too out side of the normal chart stuff. It’s construction and why we connected with it. She also brought in players from The Birmingham Philharmonic Orchestra to give us individual lessons. It gave us the opportunity to play in lots of youth orchestras and in my case brass ensembles. I fast forward to visiting the music classrooms at my children’s school and it’s littered with technology and creative spaces. So much more accessible. Allows all abilities to create their type music.
  21. Completely agree. You so right to mention the PA quality. Even on our small gigs I can get away with it as we have a decent RCF setup, which has 15” speakers to carry the bass.
  22. I think I’m in a transition period. I find myself either using my Radial preamp into a desk with a FRFR monitor or IEM, in most venues. The only time I love a big old amp is the festivals or big stage where you need to feel the air. Most other venues I just don’t need one.
