  1. Evening all. I’m looking to change the control loom for a squire jaguar vintage modified. It’s the jag with the stacked pots. Each pot has volume and tone. The bottom control of the stack has a dial ( click when turning). However I don’t really need to keep that feature. Where should I be shopping for this? The parts thread has not been updated since the new site migration took place. Cheers
  2. Another endorsement for RCF. We bought the Art 745. Does away with a sub. Great projection. Easy to transport. What motto love.
  3. I really admire all those wonderful players who are consistently push technique and strive for excellence. In my younger days they were inspiring and I spent hours diligently trying to emulate them. However as @Bilbo has stated. I have never used the techniques in my weekend warrior playing career. I imagine if I were endorsed and had to promote a product or did clinics I’d defo have some slick runs and fancy techniques to impress my audience and paymasters. I feel there’s a place for us all in the choir. These players spark interest and inspire the next generation and no doubt those young players will go on the same journey as many of us and if they are lucky end up content playing the music they really enjoy
  4. How’s Dracula supposed to travel ?
  5. I honestly think 'Spirit of Eden' is one of the best produced albums ever. The band were falling apart due to addiction etc and I think you can hear it in this album. An incredible piece of music
  6. I was born in the same town as Rory, Ballyshannon on the border of southern and Northern Ireland. I for some reason feel this has rubbed off on my playing (it really hasn't ) The local hospital is called the 'Rock Hospital ' clearly because of me and not Rory. what a Player !! FYI there a festival held there every year. https://www.rorygallagherfestival.com
  7. It’s an incredible book, a journey of recovery. I can’t imagine how you get over your loss
  8. So sad. Horrible disease. RIP. Thoughts with his family
  9. I have true contender. The Beehive Pub near West Bromwich. It’s basically a time machine. An old stove burner, which had old table legs and heaps of pallet timber ready to burn. A back room that hasn’t been used since 1984. Several rusting cars out side. To cap it off, everyone in the place was smoking. Including the kids. There was also a women dressed as pikachu. cant wait to go back.
  10. I’ve P’md you Piers
  11. Completely agree. He’s a wonderful song writer. I’d also throw Nik Kershaw into that bracket of continuing to write excellent songs
  12. Ive learn't this for a party were playing soon. It's a great bass line. Does anyone know who the bass player is? It's not Richard Madeley surely?
  13. “I could hear her howling” Maybe you need to incorporate this howl into your music ?
  14. Evening Chatters As a avid reader of the forum. I love to read about others experiences of basses and how they connect with them. I think basically there’s some trigger or root experience that defines our tastes and how we judge our bass of choice So it made me thing about the best combination of basses I’ve ever owned. Unfortunately due to youthful ignorance I’ve moved them on so in 1990 I owned 1. Warwick Thumb 2. Wal Fretless 3. Kubicki Factor Incredible combination and in all honesty I couldn’t afford to purchase them now , however I have the memories.
  15. Slightly ahead of myself but? We're thinking of rubbing some funk on "The final Countdown' by Europe. No Brexit pun intended! Any suggestions for that last one before before Big Ben Strikes ?
  16. Ignore the video. It’s not official. I do love the song though
  17. For sale A wonderful Mesa head in full working order I’m going full IEM so it’s off to a good home. Comes with gig bag, which has never been used as I always keep in its own flight case £760 including postage in uk Bank transfer only please and no Trades Willing to meet, within reasonable distance of Birmingham Thanks for looking Full Description The Plus in Subway D-800 PLUS The Subway D-800 PLUS takes from the original Subway D-800 and enhances it to satisfy the needs of players wanting enhanced frequency control and an interface for onboard signal processing. Its extended preamp is fitted with a powerful EQ section, providing semi-parametric sweepable low and high mid bands, with a bright switch to add an extra helping of high end sparkle. An adjustable high-pass filter is also included, allowing players to set the frequency from 30Hz up to 150Hz to create a tighter response, a more detailed articulation, and increase the maximum headroom. The additional extras to the back of the Subway Amp Head is a series effect loop, tuner input, and 1/4'' mute footswitch jack. Embodies the Best of Mesa's Entire Bass Lineage This 800-Watt Bass Amp Head is built around a combination of Mesa Boogie’s signature circuits, ranging from its line of tube models to its MOSFET powered models, resulting in Subway D-800 PLUS acquiring its own unique voice. Its incredibly lightweight and compact design ensures players can take it anywhere, especially with the included gig bag. Its input section features a passive/active mute switch to tailor the input headroom to suit your instrument, and a mute switch for silent tuning. The Mesa Boogie Subway also features a deep switch for further enhancement to the low end, adding an unmistakable sub low character to the mix. Powerful EQ Section Just like the Subway D-800, the PLUS model also features a powerful fixed rotary EQ section, with controls over the bass, low mids, high mids, and treble. Adjust the bass and treble frequencies to create a whole host of enhanced soundscapes, delivering sweet musical low-end fundamentals and high-end clarity. The two overlapping mid bands provides players with pinpoint accuracy when dialling in the midrange, perfect for finding the sweet spot when sculpting the attack and body of your tone. While the low mid control can be used to add in extra bloom to fill out your sound, the high mid control helps define your tone and lets you decide where your sound will sit in the mix. Voice Control Adds Finishing Touch to Sound Along with its powerful EQ section, the Subway Bass Amp is also fitted with a voice control to allow players to add the finishing touch to their sound. While the voice control has appeared on several of Mesa Boogie's bass amps, they opted for a continuously variable rendering that allows fine tuning of your sound. This sweep-able version lets players deliver near infinite shaping, going from a standard ''flat'' response all the way to a radically scooped midrange with boosted highs and lows. This powerful control is ideal for players wanting control over the degree of ''sauce'' their sound has, ensuring the amp delivers the perfect sound for your preferred genre. Intuitive Rear Panel Layout Much like the Subway D-800, the Subway D-800 PLUS features an intuitive rear panel layout with additional effects loop, tuner input, and mute footswitch jack. Its Speakon speaker outputs feature an impedance switch to optimise the bass amp’s output for a variety of speaker configurations and wiring schemes, with the choice between 2 ohms or 4/8ohms. The addition of a headphones output allows silent practice and recording, while the AUX input lets you connect music players, sequencer, or drum machines to play along with. The direct output is perfect for sending your signal straight to recording devices, mixers, and PA’s, with mini toggle switches for source, level, and ground.
