  1. What a beautiful bass. It's in! I suppose some of the mass-produced have their moments. I'm not against them at all. My JV Squire is among the future elite in my opinion.
  2. Evening everyone. I have recently managed to get hold of a Mayones B4. I owned one years ago and should never have let it go! I know its all relative, but is there a bass you own now that whilst, not a mass produced brand name, you feel will be the high-cost sort after basses of the future? let's say in 2060? .
  3. Mark Hollis death has really stayed with me. Such an incredible talent and one of those individuals that I felt I connected with, however knew nothing about him
  4. The guys a genius !
  5. I made the jump from 2 rcf heads and Sub to the 745 about 6 months ago. Aside from the obvious of less weight to carry and set up time. The clarity and depth are really good. we play venues between 150-300 and they do the job. We get so many compliments about the consistency and level of sound. The bass is not lost at all
  6. 745's all day long. beast PA
  7. I used to put it on the floor but as my eyesight got worse. It looked like I was bowing to the crowd after each song. The lads got me some binoculars as a Mikey take.
  8. Such sad, sad news. He was such a huge influence on me growing up. He's album Drift is incredible. His work with sunn o))) is brilliant. Mark Hollis now Scott Walker. Really sad.
  9. Personally I wouldn’t play any of his music. Purely because I dont want to collude or imply there’s any blurring of values when it comes to child abuse. He was clearly a troubled individual, for lots of reasons.
  10. Such sad news. A great musician. Spirit of Eden is one of the greatest albums ever written. RIP
  11. Where are they playing? They are amazing
  12. LAU. In about 20 minutes. Glee Club Brumland New Album is Mint .
  13. She's Dynamite!
  14. I love the line in America By S&G. Maybe its Joe Osbourne as well?
  15. Each one of those are killer bass lines. amazing players. That's a solid education, my friend.
  16. Along with Coughlan and Lancaster from Quo. They were my first engine room experience as a kid. Like the 1.49 train, just chugging along.!
  17. Isn’t that the real challenge. Producing a kind off version against learning to absorb the way the player approached the line.
  18. Maybe we should develop a list of must listen to bass lines, for the approach, structure and transferring theory to practice. Rather than just popularity and tone? often just learning scale etc can feel dry until you apply them in context.
  19. I've learnt "Every time you go away" by Paul Young for an upcoming gig. Its given me a real insight into the great Pino Palladino as a player. He has such a relaxed approach to playing and his execution is impeccable. I was just wondering if you guys have ever learned a particular bass line and in doing so, discovered how another player approaches constructing a bass line?
  20. I get over excited and overload my nut sometimes. I tend to palm mute all the strings and just add a percussion thud until I can drop back in. I used to panic and chase the bars. I’ve learnt not to just smile and keep gesturing.
  21. Excellent. Get in !
  22. My virginity! Best gig ever!
  23. Really great transaction. So relaxed and perfect communication. Top man
