  1. I’d ring ahead and have the stuff ready to collect. Keep your eyes closed and hand over the cash. 😂
  2. It might be worth looking into the Aux fed subwoofer technique. We have use it successfully for ages. Simply you just route any instrument that has low frequency is routed via an aux out to the subs. So in our case. Kick, floor tom,key and bass. This reduces muddy sounds and leaves the speakers to do the job they are designed for. We also use RCF and the magical settings on our Presonus desk sorts out compression etc. Might be worth a try if your setting down for a pa geek session. Found this link https://www.prosoundweb.com/topics/sound_reinforcement/a_detailed_explanation_of_the_aux_fed_subwoofer_technique/
  3. I was in there the other day. They have got some amazing stock in at the moment. Some of the second-hand stuff is orgasmic. Not to sure whos been shifting stuff but wow!
  4. We played a boozer near Cannock. When I pulled up there were two guys fighting in the car park. Should have just driven home. Wen set up played the gig. An awful lot of gesturing and punters acting out sexualised behaviour on each other, with inflatable guitars. Our singer cut the set about 5 minutes short, ( which i was annoyed about) Packed up, went to pick up the silver coin and the gaffers wife refused to play as we had finished early. This was true, all be it 5 minutes. I said ok pay us what you think is fair. They were itching for a fight. We were escorted out of the pub like we were in a spaghetti western. A guy followed us to our cars still itching for a punch-up. Our guitarist, who has some serious anger issues obliged and slapped at least four of the possie before we hit the road out of dodge. We still talk about it ten years on. Good times!!
  5. No wall, but ready to hit the road in my trusted transit ( long base, double wheel btw) Happy days
  6. Great tones and sound from all three of them. Very Cool
  7. A fine example of a 2008 Mexican Fender Jazz. Plays really well lots of MOJO. I bought this as a backup but just isn't being used. I have made some modifications. Its fitted with Aguilar 70's pups, A hipshot X tender, Schaller strap locks and Elixir strings. The upgrades give the bass a greater range and tonal options. It is what it is folks. I have original tuner and pups. You are more than welcome to pop along and try it out. I'm in South Birmingham. weights 8.6Lb 3.9Kg Looking for £700 NO TRADES PLEASE!!!!!
  8. Where are you ?
  9. One of the issues I have. Is with venues that leave their TV’s on. I get so distracted by call the midwife etc. Drives me mad
  10. wal fretless, Kubicki factor, Sandberg custom, 74 jazz. None sold because they were pants! purely to make ends meet or I traded up!
  11. Amazing basses. GLWTS
  12. Here’s a few belters!
  13. Great idea shame there’s not a UK version http://playback-earthday.daddario.com/?utm_medium=email&utm_source=marketing_cloud&utm_campaign=FRETTED-Earth Day 2018
  14. Treat with caution. You could be wearing a PA Jacket. Or speaker hats !!
  15. 😂😂😂 The drummer needs to learn a bit about complimentary frequencies. He would find it so much more comfortable going through the pa. have a look at these. There great for understanding how to eq instruments and where their frequencies cross over. https://ledgernote.com/columns/mixing-mastering/eq-cheat-sheet/
  16. I've seen too many bands with one guy and his EGO PA system. Not good for anyone involved.
  17. I think your guy is missing the whole point. The stage is where the sound is controlled and at comfortable levels. You shouldn't be competing to be heard on stage.
  18. Id agree with Muz. Sounds like there's just too much going on. its the quality of the cabs etc that matter, not the quantity. id hate speakers at the back of the stage. It just means every mic on stage is picking up bleed from all over the place. I've recently moved from two RCF tops and sub to just Two RCF 15's full range speakers. Its made life so much easier and everything through the PA ( including electronic kit). were a 4 piece and really only use our rigs for onstage sound. I'm on the verge of just using my Tone hammer straight into the PA and using floor wedge as the monitor.
  19. Great stuff
  20. Leave Sparks out of this
  21. I saw them recently in Birmingham and really enjoyed the gig. Having watched a recent documentary on sky Arts. What came through for me is that Yes As a band created a concept to musically develop more complex and inventive songs. So each member had to be on their game. If you weren’t you were asked to move on or just replaced. There was clearly some bad blood between particular reincarnations. Regardless it was great to see such interesting and indulgent playing. Can’t think of/ know any current bands doing that type of music.
  22. Yes just wondering if it's worth flogging or burning??
  23. Following on the tail of the Gas thread. I was thinking what the combined cost of our equipment is here on BC is? If it’s just bass equipment I estimate mine to be the best part of £7000. That’s all basses, amps, cabs, leads, pedals etc. It’s obscene!
