  1. I had an awful experience recently. I sold a bass on the bay as a collection in person. The buyer interpreted this as sending a courier. I explained it was a collection in person as i didn't have the time to arrange to package and sit in waiting for a courier. Collection in person means i simply hand you the bass. Regardless i agreed as i am a good-natured soul. What a mistake. The list of demands was like a rider from Spinal Tap. The cheeky sod clearly had issues and i was given instruction how to wrap the headstock using bubble wrap, slacken the strings by .68 turns etc. It was a joke. The worst bit was the lack of thanks. Dont get me wrong it was a sh*t bass, I was glad to see it go. So i suppose my point is "Collection in person" can be open to interpretation by complete idiots.
  2. I sold a Limelight to Pete. A pleasure to deal with. Hassle free transaction. Met up quick chat. Top man
  3. Thank you for explaining my "left-hand wobble" in the correct terms. . That's why you're the teacher. Sustain is essential for feel and emotional attachment to particular styles of music.
  4. Great question. I think it’s just another tool for us to use depending on the music your producing. I find it really useful in a lot of the Fretless stuff I play. It lends itself to using sustain as the very nature of Fretless is the ambiguity of the note. The “left hand wobble” it has its place
  5. That’s passion. When your footy team comes before your bass choice. 😀
  6. Go on Steve. You know you deserve it.
  7. Bought a lovely Fender Jazz from Paulie. Hassle free. Top member. Thanks again
  8. Thanks, advice was taken. My poor attempt at lightning the mood.
  9. Price drop. I need to shift this.
  10. You completely right Steve and @Prowla. It really makes me look stupid and I'm sure to many of you its hard to believe. I've heard of Limelight for sure, however, i have genuinely never looked into what they do. I really thought that they were like AMG for Mercs etc. The original advert that I bought it from was not misleading in any way. It stated "Limelight Fender etc" I am an impulsive buyer and not the most technically minded When I saw it I just bought it. It really was that simple. I hope I haven't damaged my reputation too much, anyone who wants to check my feedback will see how long I've been trading and been a member. If anything I think this is an example of how supportive the community is in pointing out to stupid " Schoolboys" like me the error of their ways. If there are any Mods/Admin following if you feel I should remove the ad, I'm more than happy too. Or just bin it yourselves. The bigger argument is clearly one for the forum mods and admin to discuss. However, with the level of scrutiny provided by members as in this case, I doubt this is a site many fakers would attempt to infiltrate.
  11. This is great. I feel like I’m embroiled in some type of conspiracy. My life has just got interesting. I’m selling the bass in question on the forum. The original sale line I put up was “ Fender Jazz with limelight love” Another chatter pointed out that this may be throwing others of the sent. ill be perfectly honest, when I bought this bass I thought it was a fender jazz reissue that had been pimped by Limelight. I honestly thought that’s what they did. Like some people do with cars. Once I had read upon the company I realised I’d made a genuine mistake. So changed it immediately. Im not sure of the legality of logos etc. i completely agree about not promoting the sale of fake instruments in any way. I don’t think it’s the quality of the bass as the Limelight is stunnng to play and I own genuine vintage fender jazzes. It’s the intent to decive that would damage the site. Maybe it’s an issue for the powers at be need to consider ( wait until I’ve sold my Limelight first please) I do believe in the integrity of BC Members. I’ve been buying and selling on here for years and have never had anything but good experiences. I’ve often relied on the comments and knowledge of other members to inform my decision and increase my own knowledge I’ve always felt I can post questions Maybe we need a section to “Ask the experts”
  12. No worries. Let’s hope it works out
  13. Lee is an incredible player. He’s the go to man. ELO, YES, it Bites, Take That. Top player.
  14. Thanks You right. It’s a limelight. I’ll amend the title. Cheers
  15. Hello All I bought this from BC very recently. It's a stunning bass and when I saw it I had to have it. However, it was an impulse buy and I'm not using it, My 75 remains king.As you can see from the pictures it has been given a good going over by the limelight team and it just looks fab. Loads of tone nice neck and plays really well. Weight 9lb on the nose. Not really looking for trades. Comes with a soft case. More than happy to post (Fully insured). Also happy to meet up locally to Birmingham. £750 inc Postage
  16. I want one. I don’t need one, but want one. Norman’s review is limited. However he’s playing does the job.
  17. Brilliant. I think that’s Ace
  18. I’ve just met Tom to collect an NS Eub. Excellent communication from start to finish. He was kind enough to meet me for collection. Another fine example from the BC Community.
  19. Top man. I wouldn’t be to hard on yourself. It’s ok to have an opinion and voice. One of the reasons bass players are so intelligent, and this forum is so great
  20. Morning all. I have for sale this beautiful black Avalon U5. A wonderful piece of equipment that I have used both live and in the studio. I have recently had it fully serviced by Chris Myring, who is the only authorised Avalon Tech in the UK. You can see his test sticker on the back. It's in perfect condition and has been kept in the SKB hard case from day one, which is about 18months ago. The black one is very cool and looks good in any rig. There are some honest reviews here: https://www.sweetwater.com/store/detail/U5/reviews This is a great package. You get a world-class DI, Rack ears and a quality SKB case. I'm looking for £400 all in! ( Including postage!! ) Price includes postage or am more than happy to meet up near to Birmingham, in a service station that is mutually acceptable Trade wise, I'm still looking at a second 4 string fretless, happy to add cash for the right bass. Fender Jazz style, MM, Tokai, Warwick As always any questions please ask.
  21. There are two albums that standout for me this year. Benjamin Clementine “ I tell a fly” Declan O’Roukes “chronicles of the great Irish Famine”
