  3. I’m really fond of many artists. From my early 80’s school days friends sharing tapes of Grandmaster flash etc. I loved Dougie fresh, Beastie Boys. Those bands who mixed it up Urban clown Possie. 24/7 Spies. I lost faith jurying the gangster racially unaware period. In more recent years it’s has to be. i love there clean political approach He just doesn’t fit the mold
  4. Pm’d
  5. I think Nile Rodgers has to be up there
  6. This is the endless debate in the bands I am in. We generally start with 3 songs no caps one into another all top tunes, get peoples attention. we then do the hellos. In my experience, once the booze starts to take effect we on it. Any anthem type tunes are always second half, everyone up dancing together. I also pick out the group who are desperate to dance ask them their names then, the combination of good songs and banter usually makes for a top night. I don't think its just about playing good songs may be an 80/20 split? Sometimes a crowd need a push!
  7. My Avalon developed this odd hum. Via their site, i found Chris and just want you all to no what a brilliant service I received. his diligence and electronics knowledge is staggering. There is no stone unturned. He kept me up to date with his investigations. A simple fix for him and he gave the whole unit the once over. Its really great to meet someone you can trust, who is passionate about his work. If you need him: Chris Myring [email protected]
  8. Cheers Marc It is really beautiful!
  9. Hello all This is the most immaculate condition JV P bass. The neck of this bass is incredible. I have owned it for 2 years and never thought I would sell it. However, like many of us, things change. I can take as many detailed pictures as you like if you PM me. This is all original and it doesn't have a mark on it. ( I will replace the original strap pins). This is an "as new" example of these incredible basses. Its never been gigged and used a handful of times at home. serial number JV27794 so its 82-84 I would prefer collection, as I don't have a hard case, which is what this bass needs in transit. (I have a soft case) I can arrange courier at buyers expense. Or am happy to meet up close to Birmingham. I'm asking £850 ono

  11. I was lucky enough to meet him at a clinic a few years ago in Brum. Such an incredible player and his knowledge of bass is second to non
  12. I’ve always thought it’s about triggers. For Muso types, it can be a simple phrasing or harmony which , triggers an emotional response. I think it can cross all types of music. I guess the majority here are in influenced by European scales etc. What I find interesting is how other cultures are equally touched by their scales/ modes. The deep traditions of music.
  13. I love this band. In fact, I. love most of what Southern Lord release.
  14. I’m loving my new LNT 210. It really shifts some air. Vandekley are brilliant cabs. Best I’ve ever used

  17. I have this amazing cab for sale. In Mint condition. The eagle-eyed of you will recognise is as being on this very site a couple of weeks ago. I bought it! I have since had the opportunity to purchase a Mesa 800 plus head, which is rated at 4ohm/2ohm. I could use this cab, as its 600w at 8ohm however, I have decided to go for a Vanderkley LNT 210 4ohm rated at 1200w. So, as a result, this has to go. I'm asking. £450.00 Collection or meet up near Birmingham preferred. Configuration: 2x10” Neodymium drivers +1" tweeter variable tweeter control from 0 - 10. Power: 600 Watts RMS Impedance: 8 Ohms Freq. response: 45 Hz – 16 kHz Sensitivity: 100 dB 1W @ 1m Size: H x W x D, 50 cm / 20” x 50 cm / 20” x 41 cm / 16” Weight: 17 Kg / 37 lbs
  18. Popped into Bass Direct first thing, to pick up a cab Mark had kindly set aside for me without a deposit needed. Have to say pretty uneventful. Good chat, shown some really beautiful Maruszczyk basses, which are so incredibly light and the onboard kit and finish is stunning. A must try if your passing. Really disappointed. I was hoping for Kevin & Perry style interactions, however, it was more Richard & Judy!! sorry I meant Ant & Dec. Anyway, thank you both for your time. I hope to see you soon. for a 5 string Maruszczyk!!
  19. Met Stuart today. He bought my Markbass combo. Real pleasure. Great player. He brought his own jazz bass, which in his hands sounded equally as good as my 75 Jazz. Deal with confidence
