  1. Hello. For sale this wonderful Phil Jones Double 4, 70w amp. A wonderful piece of equipment with a lovely sound. I've only ever used it as a practice amp. I tend to use my Helix and headphones for practice, so not getting any use. Fully working and ready to go to a good home. Happy to discuss postage or meet up close to Birmingham Take Care
  2. I'll use them all. I learnt classical guitar as a kid and when I moved to bass the fingering was very similar so I've never changed my approach. My index and ring finger are the same length so if I'm just using 2 fingers I tend to use 1 & 3 as I don't need to angle my hand. I'm not sure it really matters in the big picture. No one has ever commented. I do love a Billy Sheehan gallop though.
  3. He's an incredible player. If this is his authentic self and expression then good for him.
  4. That sound very similar to my local Music shop on a Saturday
  5. Incredible bass. I viewed it more times than I should. I'm re-traumatising myself with every click. Just stunning!
  6. Just heading to the Birmingham gig !
  7. IMHO. Greatest fretless bass I’ve ever played. If I had the dollar I’d take this in a heartbeat. GLWTS

  9. As New condition Radial StageBug SB-2 Passive DI box These are a really well know and trusted brand. Build quality is second to none. I've never used this live. So no velcro or marks at all. Bought for a project that never materialised. You can see by the pictures is in perfect condition. Delivery included to UK address or collection in Brum with £5 reduction. Thanks for looking
  10. The picture of that bass with the Trace amp behind has made my heart flutter!
  11. It would be great if some of the tuner manufacturers would consider the locking heads as used in some guitars. It would make changing strings a little less boring. I'd also like an AI bass that recognised I didn't know what I was doing and produced really good bass lines by controlling my fingers. A bass that made me look slim all the time A bass that I can program the set list into and it laughs as I try to play it Shoes for cows!
  12. Responsibility is completely on them. They have to provide like for like or they foot the bill for the difference. I ask for a full refund personally. Tell them you'll name and shame them on Bass Chat

  15. I think we all pine after the nostaga of our first basses. Along with all the ones that got away.
  16. Hello all. For those of you who are using backing tracks I need some advice. 1. How do you trigger the tracks? Hardware or an App? 2. What’s your signal path to drummer and band? Thank you
  17. It gives you both options. You can plug and play or build your own patches. My ability developed over time. I made a few then started to tweet the dynamics. Really easy to use. After a while I found it easier to use my laptop hooked up to the helix as all the functions were easier to access.
  18. As above. It's difficult to assess through pictures you need to apply some basic kit to find out what's going on. Has anything happened to the bass, that may have caused something? Extremes of temperature, truss rod messed with? it may well be a simple relief issue if it's just in the middle of the neck.
  19. You need to check out some of the youtube stuff. I've used a Stomp for the last 5 years and they are a real game changer. I don't think it will ever replace a really high-quality amp and cab and the feel of a rig but for ease of use and set-up, they are incredible. There are so many options available for sound and processing. It allowed me to develop the various bass sounds I had in my head for different bands and songs. I've had so many players and audience come up and discuss my sound only to realise I have no rig.
  20. Spot on. That's what i use
  21. Hello 980mm in length 320mm at the widest part. Or in old money 38.5 inches x 12.5.inch
  22. I generally break a song down into its parts. The key signature, intro, chorus, Middle 8, and Any tricky parts. I then look for the repetitive parts and nail them. Every song has a pattern which, I learn and listen out for triggers from vocals or other instruments. So basically I end up with a series of parts. if it's a song that involves speed I use a metronome set a few beats below to learn the song then increase the speed until I hit the correct tempo. googling the lead sheets can be really useful or looking at someone else's attempts on youtube can cut corners. I then go to rehearsal and fook it all up!
