I saw them in Bexhill on sea and thought the very same. It was great to see them on stage. I thought maybe to emulate the original sound?

Up for sale the ultimate sparkling bass It’s based on a fender P Bass with moody decal. NB: This is not a fender bass! I bought it from a fellow member a while back and have set about upgrading it. So it an amazing workhorse. upgrades include 1. Delano pickups 2. Gotoh highmass bridge 3. Schaller tuners 4. A new loom from our very own @KiOgon incredibly skilled fabricator . The best Jack location click you will ever hear!! 5. solid chrome knobs 6. Elixir strings 7. Complete setup The colour is just beautiful. A lovely metallic sparkle. The neck has sone lacquer cracking but really nothing to speak of. in terms of trades I’d like a jazz or MM Style bass. Sale price £250 Happy to meet locally to Brum Ta!

Any where you like really. Most are set on a single pole with sub then speaker on top. The sound from a sub is omnidirectional. The frequencies are generally below 200HZ. So it’s an almost 360 degree sound. Not to close to walls and corners can some times make them sound louder. There are calculations about distance to walls and radiation and Phasing issues however generally anywhere. Depends on the venue.

Hello all. I know there are a huge amount of factors that impact on the final tone of any bass tone. Bass, amp.cab,player, finger, pick, strings, effects, studio/live, pickups, preamp, passive , active, new world vs old etc etc Putting all those nuances to the side for the purpose of this thread. How do you get a basic tone for: Rock Funk Jazz slap punk motown so regardless of bass type what would you advise a new player who wanted to achieve a good baseline tone for each what are the EQ rules ?

It’s very normal to feel this way. As you said the last year has impacted on all of us and our live performance. You sound to me like your good to go. Your fingers are gig ready ( mine aren’t). I would say. Prepare your gear well. Spend time getting a tone your happy with at sound check. One method I’ve always used is to visualise the set. Particularly tasty/ prominent elements. I visualise structure and my finger positioning. It’s basically a mindfulness exercise. Keeps me anchored and in the moment. What’s gone is gone. What’s to come has not yet happened. Stay in the moment.
