1. Sounds like 'gritty' distortion to me. Maybe some growl? Argh, all of these nondescript words!

One bass only

I only use one, my Jazz. It's all I can afford at the moment and I love to play it. It has its quirks and a problem or two but nothing that can't be solved with a bridge and pickup change
3. Just two; my 70s RI Jazz and the bit of Hartke firewood which I used as my first bass.

Very saddening news, my condolences go out to his family and friends Si and I exchanged PMs about the web design thread; he was a very knowledgeable fellow and a pleasure to chat with.
5. Stellar - Incubus
6. Should I feel foolish when I say little bits of damage add to the character and history of the bass?
7. I started recording some covers a month or so ago, after receiving my Korg Px4d. It feels like an achievement when you've recorded what you feel is a tricky song in places. It also helps me with my bass playing progress. http://www.youtube.com/HyperMoosic Would love some feedback or requests Carl
8.
Hi Carl. There is clearly a need for a function band website template. Could you build one any BC member could use? I'd be happy to help.
I could have a go, but I've got limited experience with Wordpress and the like but yeah, I'd be definitely willing to co-operate with you. Carl
9. I'd be willing to provide help/designs/coding for the website if you need it, TS.
10. Just makes me really question their commitment. You could try hard at making it all work again, and in two months they might get some other **BIG EXCITING OPPORTUNITY ABROAD** and leave you. All work for nothing. I say go with your gut feeling.
11.
One of my favourite bands - seen them live twice now, although at their recent Bristol academy show the bass didn't come through that well. They still rocked hard though! Mute Print and Career Suicide are fantastic records. Ruiner is too, but I prefer the other two.
I was there too. I was on the opposite side to the bass and couldn't hear it that well, but he is a great bassist. Such a good band live too and got myself AWS t-shirt, served by the drummer I believe.
12. The pink bass.
13. Zebrahead - Broadcast to the World
14. Great stuff mate, and best of luck. Shout out to bass chat, of course
15.
How's it going?
Hey, sorry I haven't responded - forgot to check this thread! Things are good, and I can look at more website work now. I've just finished my six exams so I'm having a bit of a rest then back to work
16.
Hmm - Good poll Rich! I own the Classic Mexican series and love it to pieces. Its my bass and I really can't see myself letting it go (which for me is a big step!).
Likewise, but I'd go for an American Standard Jazz or a Vintage if I had the money.
17. Dear Bass Agony Aunt, My hands profusely sweat whilst playing bass in summer. What can I do about this? Or is it natural lubricant for a fast neck? Carl
18. Rosewood, and remove the white pickup covers
19.
They wouldn't have much of an opportunity to say anything, because our performance would involve executing them, the audience, the production crew and hopefully some viewers at home.
+1
20. Depends on the setting really. High mid boost with a bit of growl on my jazz bass - both pickups up full.
21.
If a band is a main course dinner, we are the gravy. It's still edible but there's something missing....
I like that analogy.
22.
I do know that Tone is sometimes my best mate, and other times I hate him and will only refer to him as Anthony
23.
Yep - spot-on. That's nailed it for me. Though I think he uses a pair of Dark Stars in his Jazz here?
Yeah, pretty sure he uses Dark Stars. I'd love some but expense and effort..
24.
Propagandhi - Supporting Caste. It's ace.
Good choice, fantastic album I'm listening to Potemkin City Limits now, I worked my way backwards with their albums when I found out about them.
25. Just sounds like 'quick, bouncy octaves' to me. EDIT: Here ya go http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TktTUxNMreE And I think a Big Muff would be fine, but make sure you keep some low end
