1. Hi All, Just bought a Jazz neck of Mike. The neck arrived the day after I paid for it. Well packaged and in perfect condition. Thanks for a great deal Mike, highly recommended. Cheers, Pete.
2.
Unbeatable price, though! But looks like it's sold, anyway...
Nope, I still have it. The guy backed out as his wife had bought a dress. LOL. Sorry for the hijack, as you were gents. Thanks for the link btw. Pretty good basses tho', especially for the money and very very light weight.
3. Cheers for the replies guys. Mikegatward, Can you tell me about yours but I was thinking about a neck with Vintage tint and a decal. Bremen, The scares the bejeezus outa me mate. I'll have a look at Warmoth though. Anyone else out there know about the 1" heel thing. Cheers, Pete.
4. Hey Folks, I love my Precision but the neck is slightly on the large size for me. It's a 57ri body with a 62ri rosewood board.I've been thinking about getting a Maple/Maple Jazz neck for it,specifically the Mighty Mite offering which gets good reviews on here. One thing that worries me tho' is that the necks have a one thick inch heel. Does that mean that you have to trim it to size ?? My wood working skills would probably write off a £100 neck if that's the case. Cheers in advance.
5. Cheers for that, first class.
6. Hi All, I just bought Donovans' Tech Soundsystems 212 and it;s just arrived, done the deal and it's here inside of 48hrs of the payment going through from Belgium. I'd like to commend Donovan for the absolutely fantastic packaging job, as all the others have before me, it really was first rate. The cab has arrived in tiptop condition. Double wrapped with extra protection on the grille and a written notice not to stack anything on that side of it. Great stuff. Communication was excellent from the get go and he has been the perfect gent throughout. Thanks Donovan, Regards, Pete.
7. Result !!! Chuffed for ya bud especially after what happened.
8. I Messaged him too but not heard anything back.
9. 699 to go. Love the current series of vids btw.
10. This has been flagged up in the Bass Guitars section but I havn't found it in here so http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Fender-Precision-Bass-1994-Japan-built-/260976344366?pt=UK_Musical_Instruments_Guitars_CV&hash=item3cc366fd2e I have the same bass for sale albeit I should add, not this one. It sports an MIJ neck but Vintage Icon body. Shame on them.

20. Lovely ! Thanks for posting, I have a few mates who'll appreciate this also so I'll pass it on. Cheers.
21. Not Fickle at all.I much prefer the headstock shape on mine to the one on yours, each to their own as they say. No worries, I'll report back when done.
22. Like buses you lot ! My P bass has an ashtray and I play finger style so no benefit from a comfier hand position or cosmetics. I've done a side by side view and the saddles look like they'll come down far enough so that's a plus. I'll give it a try I think just because....well just because. Truckstop, sorry dude but the Blazer is a keeper but I have noticed that your a fan. Mines a 1980 but it's the different model to the one in your avatar. I did have one like yours with the P pup but to be honest I preferred this one so sold the other on a couple of years back.I don't seem to have a picture of the full bass so here it is sawn in half. Hope you likey.
23. I'm into my third year on the jazz and second year on my Ibanez Blazer. To me they've got better with age .....or maybe I'm just telling myself that because i'm skint hehe. You should get a good 12 months out of 'em tho' I guess.
24. Hey folks, I have a good quality Brass bridge taken from an Ibanez Blazer. I've been toying with the idea of fitting it to my P Bass so does anyone know what tonal differences I should expect....if any. I noticed one fitted to a P Bass on a video posted up on here about the Ampeg PF500 amp. It's a straight swap but the Brass item is a lot more substantial than the Fender item. Cheers in advance.
25. Unfortunately (for your pocket) it's a trial and error thing finding the right strings for yourself. I use DR Sunbeams on my jazz and now that I do I wouldn't use anything esle. I tried quite a few different manufacturers strings including other DR ones till I found the ones I liked. You can usually find fairly decent youtube videos for each string, here's one for sunbeams http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qY7qmW2FYsI Everyone has their own preference and can can only really tell you what they like. Maybe the thing to do would be to decide what type of sound you want and then look at the different string types/compositions to help you narrow the search. Good luck.
