I bought Precision of Tim this week. Totally blown away with the effort he put into getting the Bass to me in double quick time. Nice Bass, Nice Guy and a credit to this forum. Thanks Tim, Pete.

I'll bring it home tomorrow and have a delve inside to see what's in there. I'll post back once I find out. The guy I bought it of said it was definitely 8ohm, we'll see I guess. Cheers.

Hi Phill. Thanks for the reply. I think I'll be taking your advise and getting the correct drivers for the job. The Omni will be a good one cab solution for smaller gigs after all. It makes me wonder why it's 8ohm in the first place, I like the cab now so maybe with the Deltalites I'll like it even more. Thanks for all the help and suggestions guys as ever. Pete.

Hi Folks, I have a Vintage Icon V4 P Bass copy for sale. This was my first foray into the P Bass Sound and it's sat unused for a while so I may as well try and move it on. It was modded when I bought it with a Gold anodised scratch plate and JV Squire pups. The pups went on the Kramer that I have up for sale and this got the Kramer Item. It's a step up from the standard ones though for sure. There's some scratches on the body as you can see in the pic, handy tip, don't ever lend your gear to your sons mate. Anyway apart from that the bass is OK for what it is. It's nice and light weight and it's been set up so the action is OK too. I'd like to see £110 for it, that'll include UK shipping only or you can collect it from Preston for £100. Cheers.

Here's my early 80's Kramer Focus 7000 up for sale. I bought this a while back as a cheap way into all things P to see if I got on with the tone etc. It turned to be an excellent Bass with the predictable quality of an 80's Japanese Bass. I've since fitted a set of Squire JV pickups (yes those ones !) so it sounds pretty damn good. I'm not sure of the body wood but it's not Ply, the neck is Maple with a Rosewood Board and It came with quality Schaller hardware as standard. The bass is a dream to play, the neck is A1 perfect, fairly slim, 41mm at the nut with a 34mm string spacing. The fret work is top drawer, there all finished of very nicely. The body has pretty much zero issues,no chips or dings of any concequence in the paint at all. Excellent condition for a 20 odd year old bass. It does have one issue in that the J humbucker and switches have had the wiring disconnected, read cut.... but half an hour with a soldering iron would sort it. It's desingned to be coil tapped...aparently. Tonewise ,,,well it sounds just like a P with plenty of output from the JV Pickup. Does Motown, Reggae, Funk etc etc as you would expect. It's fitted with flats. It's priced to sell at £150, pretty reasonable I think plus the shipping or collect from Preston. I'd be happy to meet up within reason and I welcome any trial etc etc. I paid £150 for it so with the addition of the JV pup it's a bargain. If it sells I'm 100% certain the buyer would be happy with it. Check the web, thet get very favourable reviews. Thanks for looking, Pete.

Hi Bill, Thanks for coming along. i want to run the cab at 8ohms then I have the option of running another cab for larger venues if required. If you there is no need or a better option for me i'd appreciate the advise. See forum title=Numpty Thanks, Pete.

Thanks very much for you input lawrence, (got the spelling right this time) Looking at the specs of that speaker it could be a possibility. The cab sounds pretty good as it is but having bought it not built it I think I'll delve inside to see what the drivers are. Looking arounf t'internet at what's available it does seem a bit odd that the cab is 8ohm and not 4ohm. I suppose on option would be too replace the current drivers with the Deltalite II 2510's and have a good, fairly lightweight "one cab alternative" for smaller venues. I'll look into what other cab manufacturers have as replacements as well, I hadn't thought of that. Thanks again, Pete.

Cheers for the reply MrFoxen. The ones listed on the BFM info that's in the the plans states a Eminence Deltalite II 2510 for my preferred application, however it's only available as an 8ohm speaker so my cab would run at either 4 or 16ohm. The cab in it's current form is 8ohm and I would rather it stay that way. I really like the cab and want to keep it but make it lighter with the addition of a pair of Neo's. I'm taking the cab to Dave Perry's for a service in the coming weeks so would like to have a pair of speakers ready to install. Thanks again, Pete. Thanks Laurence, you replied whilst I was typing mine.

Hi Folks, I want to change the speakers in my Omni 10 to Neo's but still run the can at 8ohms. The reccomended driver for 500 watt application is only available in 8ohms so not suitable. Are there any of you guys that can point me in the right direction for a good driver. I know there's plenty to choose from but I'd rather go with a reccomendation than trying pot luck. Thanks in advance, Pete.

I'll try again with the cab. Still pristine and gigged 3 times in the last 12 months. For sale at £190 collected or trade for a Fender Rumble 112 or similar lightweight 1x12 cab. Paypal or Cash on Collection from Preston, Lancs. If you want to arrange courier collection then great, it can be collected from my workplace any day of the week. Cheers.

I think I may have posted this one earlier on in the thread a few eons ago, anyways, for any late comers here you go. Randy Bramwell on the Bass. I had the pleasure of talking to him a while back and he was chuffed I remembered this track and that it's in my all time favourite top 10. Hope you all enjoy it. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=A5l4EdaeCsE

I'm pleased to add some positive feedback for Guven. I bought a Fernandes bass of him a while back. The bass turned up in double quick time and was exactly as described in his add. Very pleased with the bass and in the way that Guven handled the deal. Cheers, Pete.

Hey Guys, I'd thought I'd drop by Basschat as I've not been around for a while. Anyway, I spotted a couple of recent "Spunky" threads and saw my name mentioned so I thought it bad manners not to reply. I must say that I got really lucky with mine, I paid for it when it was $2 to the £ and on the very day that the pound started to fall against the dollar, in fact the bass went up iirc £20 or thereabouts the very next day. It cost me £285 including soft case and shipping and as an added bonus the postie delivered it free of any import duty. The ordering process was very simple, I emailed them first with the spec I wanted, ie SRAW Alder body, Maple neck and Rosewood fingerboard,Perloid blocks and White Binding, we agreed a price then there were two or three phone calls during the week and that was it. The Bass arrived less than a week after it was shipped. Build quality is excellent and everyone who has played it has commented on how good it is. I took it to a very good luthier in Bolton for a set up and he commented that it was as good as any American Jazzer he'd come across (his words not mine)That said however, I'm not a fan of the headstock hehe. To be honest It was the name that appealed to my sense of humour and as I was flush at the time (the good old days !!) coupled with me looking at the Squier VM range and wanting a Jazzer I thought what the hell. It turned out to be a good decision for me. I've since upgraded the Wilkinson Bridge and Tuners for Hipshot Items and it now sports Seymour Duncan Antiquity Pups. So, A couple of years on and I'm still loving the "Spunkster", the best £285 I think I've ever spent. Here she is, hope you likey.
