1.
Jaco, no soul? Really? Also he's laid down more than a few simple grooves in his time, check out "I Can Dig It Baby". Definition of in the pocket right there
Thanks for heads up on this one Rich, Cool track dude.
2. Dickwad ! I'd tell him to shove it where the sun don't shine,what a nob !!
3. If you buy it you'll suddenly play like Jaco...Mmmmmmm sounds like it could well be an investment if that's included in the price. Thinking about it my first proppa bass was an SR900,no wonder my paying has gone down hill ever since.Aaaah but wait, mine had'nt been double died by the master, that explains it then.
4. Hey Max, pm me your details and i'll pass them on to a friend of mine. Cheers, Pete.
5. sweet and sweet. Good on ya bud.
6. Hang on a minute dude,it includes pads !! Can't say fairer than that really.
7. I can't quite get my head around the fact that some people on here,a Bass forum, think James Jamerson is overrated. Even if you dislike Motown, with the number of hits the label had you'd have to say that he is the most underrated Bass player that ever walked the planet.
8. The first thing I noticed was the 20 fret neck,it states 22 in the listing.I'd double check on that first but it looks like it could be fun.
9. Thanks for the replies guys. A couple of things, there are some fairly tight restraints on our budget at the moment, the Alto's mentioned are a possibility in a month or two's time. The other thing is our drummer uses an electronic kit .We think we'll need subs for the kick drum, whaddya think ?? Thanks again.
10.
To be honest you should look the other way around..... Powered speakers that have matched amps and DSP already built in.... then just add whichever mixer you need.
Cheers Crez, I'm a total noob at this stuff really so can you explain matched amps and the built in DSP. Thanks again, Pete.
11. Hey Folks, We did our first gig last night and yours truly plus one other band member got to set up and take down the PA. As it was already set up in the rehearsal room the entire process of stripping it,loading it,setting it up then everything again in reverse made for a very hectic and full afternoon/evening. The PA consists of a rack with x/over and 3 very heavy amps, subs, tops stage box monitors etc etc etc. As this was such a major undertaking i'm wondering if we should get a decent powered mixer and go for a speaker set up with passive x/overs.Sounds a lot easier to me. What do you thing guys, the way to go or no. Any input appreciated.
12. Just gigged mine tonight, cracking amp for the money. I use it with Ashdown mini rig speakers at rehearsal to a 610+horn setup tonight with no hiss at all. I've just run it at 2ohms at a pretty loud gig and it didn't break sweat at all. Tis a nice little amp bump.
13. Hi Guys. It's on hold pending at the moment. To the peeps that have pm'd me please accept my apologies for not updating the thread.
14. Thanks septicrat. Also having at one time or another two blazers and now down to one I think i'd better hang on to it. I used it at rehearsals last night, the first time with the flats and i've decided it'll be getting gigged on Friday. I was very impressed. Cheers anyhoo.
15. A recent bout of "P" gas means the Fernandes will really have to go. I'm going to drop it to the ridiculously insane price of £185 delivered inc the strap and locks. I can't justify it sitting here not getting played so hey,It'll have to go. That's a whole lotta bass for the money but it means I can swap it with the P I just bought. Please don't ask me to do it for £180 as a poke in the eye with a sharp stick can be quite painful. Paypal is fine or cash on,any trial welcome etc etc.
16. Thanks for the help guys, I've pulled the trigger on Kev's Vintage icon,a nicely priced entrance into all things "P" I feel. The Blazer will be staying put. As for Bobanez Bob me owd mucker, twas a sad farewell indeed but needs must at the time and all that.I can safely say that yes,I was once the very proud owner. Hope your'e keeping well Bob.
17. Cheers Flat Eric, Yep,that's the Blazer I have. I was'nt so much thinking of selling it, i'm more wondering if I should get a P for the tone or does the Ibby come close enough to save me the dosh. Thanks again.
18. Hey folks, I'm toying with the idea of aquiring a P bass but as I already have an Ibanez Blazer i'm wondering if any of you guys have any experience with both and how the tone compares, also if the Blazer comes close. The one I have a 1980 Humbucker version and is strung with Ti flats.D I stick or twist ???? I quite fancy a Tokai Hardpuncher but they're few and fare between.I'm looking at a couple of other non Fender examples as $$$$$$$$ are not in abundance at the moment. Thanks in advance.
19. Nice !!
20. I just bought a tascam interface of Steve. It arrived in double quick time and was extremely well packaged. Cheers dude, Pete.
