1.
Plus that stupid man at the back with his guitar on his lap sliding a can of beer up and down the strings sounding like a cat giving birth. Don't they see he's just a lazy arse that can't be bothered to stand up like a real guitarists. Surely, nobody here likes country music here
Check out some of Alison Krauss and union station's stuff, then listen to Jerry Douglas on dobro and then tell me it sounds like a cat giving birth. Sorry but i love my Bluegrass
2. I don't feel bad about it ,to be honest it's quite a relief as i dont really enjoy being out front in the other band.I'm more of a get em up get em movin to the groovin kinda guy.Busy beaverin away in the background, that's me.
3. Good man,thanks.
4. Mine's been in the "puff" thing for the last couple of months,i can't remember what's on the front and can't find it on the net.Unbeknowns to me she had a tidy up on Sunday and the recycling got done yesterday, the worst thing is i even put the bloody blue bag out, aaaaaaaarrrrrrrrrggggggghhhhh.

6. Hey all. Does anyone happen to have a spare copy of september 08's Bass player mag. It's the one with the transcription for SRV's Tightrope. This was my "treasured" bass mag and unfortunately and by accident it ended up in the recycling,i'm gutted. If you have a spare or you're not wanting the 1 you have please let me know. Thanks.
7. Just had the pleasure of dealing with Si.Thoroughly nice chap and he even dropped the readies of. Cheers Si.
8. Ok,cheers for that.
9. Can't do it.In fact i can't even talk or answer a question whilst playing bass.I sing lead and play g**t*r in "the other" band,(it's an acoustic i hasten to add)I can also sing and play drums and often do when the drummer can't be arsed to turn up.Play Bass and sing, just can't do it.
10. I used the software at rehearsal last night.I have a Creative audigy soundblaster pcmcia card in the lappy, the bass was plugged into the line in on that and then the headphone out went into the jack on my amp.I basically scrolled through the presets till i found something sorta like what i use and then tried to tweak it.If i'm honest, with my amp set flat it was quite muddy on most of them. This could be to do with me going straight into the line in and not using an interface, not sure.If an interface would sort out the tone i wouldnt think twice about using this software live.I've made a few presets for home use and it's a breeze to go from maybe a motown or reggae thud to nice middy funk with a mouse click. Cool stuff.
11. Hey Al,no worries.I was looking out foryou but guessed on Sunday that you might of had bigger fish to fry Dr Dave,Lee Wharton, yeah,he's a good un alright.I think "Funky Norm" as he's known locally has joined his band fairly recently. He's a sh*t hot bassist, one of the best i've seen. I used to go and watch him play back in the early eighties,he was good then too...bastard.
12. Saw this band on saturday, awesome. Norman Helm is the bass player,a well known Preston musician. He plays in about 5 bands at any one time.Gorgeous ray,swr redhead and tone to the bone.
13. Hi folks. I have a Vox V847 wah pedal surplus to.. Its good as new,no marks, scratches.Boxed and with soft case £50 posted. Ta.
14. Simple, effective and funky as f--- I think it might even be James junior on bass,he did work on one her albums IIRC http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dYrqLgOHcUU
15. Check out David Bendeth's "Feel the Real" for an awesome Disco/jazz funk bassline.Tis a cracker. this is the proppa version http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=55Rb8IdwkoE
16. No pressure then !
17. Good one Al
18. I have the Crate BT 350 bass head,i love it.I've read somewhere that it shares some of it's internals with Ampeg and SWR heads.I like mine so much that I sold my Lmkll on the strength of it.The BT combo's also get excellent reviews.
19. So its a f siemens c series lifebook Intel ® Pentium ® M Processor 1.86ghz 1.86ghz,1.49 GB of RAM Thats taken from the general tab and it's written so.I dont think mt laptop is anything special,i bought it second hand so i think its at lest 3 or 4 years old, maybe more.
20. Cheers Si,you haven't heard me play 'em though Thanks for a nice n easy sale.
21. Cheers Shaggy and Ou7shined.Great deals right there.
22. Hi lemmy, not sure about its spec tbh,i would'nt know where to start,if you tell where to look i'll have a go.However it's a fairly old Fujitsu Siemens C series lifebook if that helps. It's never been past 18% of the CPU capacity according to the software.I've no latency problems whatsoever and it sounds great through a cambridge surround sound jobby.
23. Finding my way round this thing now,it's pretty good eh.I am having a challenge getting my input level up though.I'm plugging the bass straight into my mic/line in socket on my soundcard,I've had a fiddle with the settings but i cant get any more than 1/4 up the level indicator.Do i need a proper interface then or am i missing something. thanks in advance.
