1. Hey Ron, search the members list for bassassin and drop him a pm just in case. His knowledge of things that include the words "Jap" and "Bass" knows no bounds.
2. Enter Bassassin stage left............ Bugger, you beat me to it
3. Geddy's for me Paul
4. Bugger !!! If i cross out the 1 and write in a 2 will that help, Can you tell me where the difference is Greeneking, cheers.
5. Cheers guys, I have a Crate BT350 head. The tuner has and in/out and a mute but i dont really want to put it in the signal path if i can help it. It works fine if there's volume from the amp as the tuner is connected via the send in the effects loop. The amp does have an xlr and 1/4" line out with a volume control, would it be OK to try the tuner in that output ?? I've not wanted to try it up to now because if i do some damage i can't afford a replacement. Thanks again.
6. Just a quick update, This is totally wierd but very typical. At our last jam my sound started to distort a wee bit,so,then my bro' tried his amp thru my cabs and it sounded fine.I brought the amp home and tried it thru a pair of Ashdowns from my now dear departed mini rig and the same distortion was there. My Harma valve showed up today from Watford valves so i fitted it and hey presto,no more distortion. Talk about tempting fate.....Bah !!!
7.
My only thought is, could he give a second chance offer to the person who bidded the second highest?
Oh dear, here we go again.
8. Welcome Shonks....and what a reporte toi....erm back catlogue thing, very impressive. Soooo glad you did'nt get ripped on the Ray.
9. It comes with fretted or fretless neck, standard or piezo bridge as well. Not bad eh! The screw pattern on the pickups look the same or at least similar to Riverhead 5 string MM styled bass i had.The screws on the Sterling at least are 2 at the top,one at the bottom.Well, they are on mine.Oh sugar, does that mean mines a fake and they should like the one here.
10. That's a great set list dude,it'll go down a storm i'm sure.
11. Just woul'dnt be the same if they changed the name though would it
12. Down to three now. 1 The Spunkster 2 MM Sterling 3 1980 Ibby Blazer and no G.A.S as anywhere.
13.
Kennyrodg, if they are D'Addario flats, which it sounds like they are with the coloured ends, then they're what D'Addario call Chromes.
Cheers Thumbo, I shall make a note.
14. Talking of D'addario's, I put a set of flats on my Ibby blazer and i think i almost like then better than the TI jazzers that were on there.I think they're D'addarios anyway, they have the green, blue, red and gold coloured ball ends with a dark blue silk winding.Any ideas which ones they are for future reference ?? cheers.
15. Just tried D'addario nickels on the spunkster today.I'm afraid to say the DR Sunbeams went straight back on.Might give the prosteels a go tho' as i've been toying with the idea of Stainless strings again. Cool that you've found your string tho'.
16. Cheers Adrian, Actually, and in light of a re-think and your proverbial kick up my arse Withdrawn.
17. Aaaah Ok. thanks.
18. High AM1. from start to finish it took a week.
19.
Actually it really appeals to me just for the sick humour factor. So, when someone walks up and says hey what type of bass is that? Just casually reply, a SPUNKY one. Ha.
That's the reason i went for it,well that and the vid i showed you.It was cheap enough to take a punt on and i'm now very happy I did. It's turned out to be an absolutely stellar buy.The tone is as good as in the vid and the build quality is top notch. Its kicked my MM sterling into second place for the moment. Definitely a talking point when people see the headstock hehe. here's my "Spunky" tale http://basschat.co.uk/index.php?showtopic=...2&hl=spunky
20. Hey Folks, I know this question was raised recently and indeed answered so please forgive,i have had a look for the thread. I have a Korg DTR1000,is it possible to use the tuner for silent tune up without having it in the signal chain.I have it in the effects out on the amp and of course it only works if there's volume. There must be a better way. Thanks in advance.
21. you're making a big mistake here dude, and for the record-looks f*ckin sh*t mate.
22. Hi Folks. Roland DB500 combo up for grabs, There's been plenty said about these great combo's but for the uninitiated here's the Harmony Central review page,DB 500 160 watts,12" speaker + tweeter,Hi and Lo input,COSM effects for tube/solid state and overdrive, Bass, Variable Mid cut and boost and Treble controls, chorus, pretty good onboard compressor,3 way programmable(1 can be silent for tuning etc if you wish),headphone socket. The amp quite easily does everything from Motown thump, the clankiest MM and Mwaaagh. It'll easily do pub sized gigs,i recently lent the amp out for someone doing a village hall sized affair and it didnt even push the amp. The bad news is that there's some slight damage from cat clawing on the carpet on the left side of the cab.Its not major though, nothing that a little combover does'nt sort out.Apart from that its a bloody marvellous little combo. pics to follow later today. £160 collected or plus postage if you want delivery.Bear in mind that it is pretty heavy. I'm looking for a BFM omni 10 or 10.5 btw, maybe we could deal. thanks for looking.
