1. Top job on "Spain" Dave...and the guys, really enjoyed that one...and nice diggers btw !!
2. Hey folks. Im after a looper and i'm wondering which one is the Basschatters' choice. I'm not interested in the Boss RC-2 btw but if you have any experience with any of the others i'd appreciate your thoughts. I should add i'm on a fairly limited budget,£150 max. Thanx in advance.
3. cheers Gary Hopefully this has worked...... Soul bearing time here folks,oh dear. I'm on vocals and acoustic guitar here,i dont play bass in this band.It was kinda thrust upon me a while back. It's one of our own compositions so i hope you enjoy. Be kind as its our first venture into recording,Feedback will be welcomed. Thanks for listening.
4. Thanks for the quick reply, guess i could put a link to our page. Not sure if its right to shamelessly plug it like that tho'.I was thinking more along the lines of just being able to hear the mp3 of one track in particular for a start. ?????
5. Hey all. Our band have been in the studio for the first time and i want ya'll to hear a couple of the tracks. How do i host them with a clicky,i'm stumped or is it just thick. Thanks in advance.
6. Oh my but thats bonny.
7. bumparoo
8. Hi jassibi and welcome. Great to see another funkster on here.
9. Richard got me teary eyed too !! Yep,i could have listened to him all night. Unfortunately i could only manage 1 HF number, not my thang at all. I especially enjoyed Dave Marks and his band doing Spain,I grew up on that stuff.Ive got the Chick Korea and Al Jarreau versions in the car pretty much all the time.
10.
I thought the Boom stage worked well... as long as nobody was trying the Mark Bass or MESA stuff. I enjoyed the more relaxed cafe/coffee shop vibe thing going on. Much better than next year and I think it's going to be hard to top that next year!
Agreed, the coffee shop atmosphere was good,I'll stand corrected here then, maybe it was'nt the best idea to have other stands in the same area.I was stood at the back trying my best to listen but the boom stage was completely drowned out by the stuff going on behind me.
11. I just spotted the Kendal gig on his website.I think we may make the trip,a great venue as well.
12. Cheers Nick. very generous of you as always.
13.
Have a look at this guy, he's even got the "hook" off pat!!
That would be our very own "Lo".A very pleasant BC'er from Chorley,Lancs. He's deffinitely got "The hook" . His other motown video's are a treat to watch.
14. What a great day. Richard Bona was the hilight for me,"we need to SING" hehe, absolutely fantastic. It was worth the entrance fee for his set alone. TM Stevens' set was a wonder to behold and very entertaining, Yolanda Charles and her band were great and the keyboard player voice in Janick's bands (ollie i think his name was) gave me goose bumps.I had a nice chat with John East, what a thoroughly decent chap,Oh and i met Ped(from the photo above i'd no idea i'd just met the devil incarnate) and Urb respectively. I thought the boom stage didnt work however and respect the guy on the upright as all you could here was the guy plonking away at the back on the Markbass stand.A bit more "boom" was needed.I think they could have that part of the show in another theatre/room.Just my opinion off course. It was a top day for sure, very well organised, very entertaining and very good VFM.
15. slightly off topic here but....... Ive been watching this thread and it seems to me that the front end of the LH500 is very similar to my Crate BT-350. It has a tube pre,low and high boost switches, active or passive input, low mid and high controls. Then there's the switchable 7 band graphic, chorus, switchable limiter. It can be bi-amped with variable crossover frequencies, balanced xlr and unbalanced 1/4" outputs, effects loop etc etc.Apparently it shares a lot of its internals with SWP and Ampeg Amps.....apparently. If you ever come across one of these lil' sleepers i'd recommend you try it.I ditched my LMK2 in favour of the crate and mine set me back the grand total off £130 of the bay.It never fails to deliver and the tone is great too. It has some very favourable reviews on harmony central, you should have a look see. Now then, back to the Hartke.........
16.
some people have posted brilliant informative posts and have a post count under 10.
That's my cover blown then

19. Sheer class....... I saw Sade live in blackpool just before the second album was released way back when. What a voice. She was described on this very forum only a couple of weeks back as sheer 80's dross What a shame.
20. Only on Basschat.......classic.

22. On a slightly different tack here but Funkymunky---just checked out your Myspace,Kudos man,in very large portions !! Right then....where were we....
23. Lucky for you he put the "y" on the end. Still, enjoying mine tho' and its knocked my Sterling back to second fiddle for the time being.
24. Trust you
