3. Hey all. My mate's after replacing the drivers in his SWR Redhead. The celestion BL10-200x comes to mind but i want to check they wont ruin the tone of this lil' beasty. Can any of you guys think of a better option or will the bl10 do the job. he plays a very creamworthy old stingray strung with flats and the style of music is mainly fingerstyle funk and jazz/funk. thanks in advance.
4. I was just about to add "i hope bassmankev comes along pretty sharpish !!" and as if by magic cheers dood.
5. Jeez, that was hard work. I'm pretty sure last time i looked that the bridge on my sterling was'nt half the size of that one.
6. 10 year old Gabi Wilson. Go girl !!! http://uk.youtube.com/watch?v=RelvsBfA6NE&...feature=related
7. Nice playing Nick, !! oh,and a very cool guitard solo on 110th street. If anyone out there is considering lessons with Nick have this thought in mind. My last lesson with Nick was particularly challenging, well for me anyway.I left feeling a tad down and beating myself up about it.Anyway, the next day Nick very thoughtfully called me to go over what we'd done and the reasons for it,totally lifting my spirits again.I doubt there's many other teachers out there that would care enough to go the extra mile like that. Top guy that Nick Carey Bloke.
8. looks kinda cute and not bad at £140....or have i missed something ?? 9. How can you argue with that, especially as its one our nice American cousins.
10. the plus thing about these is that they'll work with any polarity on the power supply.plug and play.
11. Yeeeeehar. welcome back and about time, the place wasnt the same without ya !!
12. what the hell now thats Jazz
13. Bump fro price drop.......well kinda now £100 posted. jeeeesh, you lot are a hard bunch.
14. It breaks my heart having to let it go at this silly price but GAS is terrible thing. If it was a 4'er it wouldnt be going anywhere. As you say Rayman,it really is very versatile and there's so much to be had from the HH and the eq. Shame on me me but there you have it.
15. bump for a price drop. £350 + post. From the Dubbest, heaviest bone shakin' bass to the clankiest treble, its all here. your missin out at this price ladies.
16. If things go to plan i'll have this spunky bass in a couple of weeks. yeehaaw, fingers crossed and all that.
17. got one of these, great compressor and soooooo easy to use. gotta be a bargain at £50 posted. have a bump on me.
18. The thing is its his for sale thread, you do him no favours debating the price of his bass in his thread.Comments or disagreements about what someones bass is worth should be sent via PM out of common courtesy as Benwhiteuk states. edit, forgot to add the smiley, sorry.
19. nice.
20. thanks for clearing that up. hopefully there's a pdf file of the switching
21.
I have only had limited exposure to Riverhead basses, but my conclusion was that these are brilliant instruments! Good luck with the sale, and have a bump on me
Cheers Mokl, it really is a cracker
22.
Great feedback, guys and thanks Mark and Jake for the UPS! Kenny, were you there last year? If so, did you see this then? BOND @ BASS DAY 2007 I know it's only one artist, but throw in Dave Marks and there's already two not-jazz players ticked! I'll look for ways to promote this forum on the event, because you bass heads is who we are doing it for!
Yep,i was there on the sunday. Dave Marks was great, albeit with a little help from one audience member who thought he was at a private lesson Jeff Berlin was very entertaining/funny (sorry BBC  ) There's no doubt that all the players were/are of the highest standard but to me it was a bit too "Bass as a solo/lead instrument" is all. Again it was a very enjoyable day, hats of to everyone who put the effort in for us all and i'll be bringing the family again this year.
23. A bit of a stable clearout going on at the mo hence this ones up fro grabs A very rare Riverhead 5'er from Headway Japan, they now make Bacchus Basses. I got it from the States last year and i bought it as an Eighties bass. I find it hard enough to play a 4 and i cant get to grips with the B so it might as well go and make for whatevers next. The good stuff; Its a HH as you can see and this thing is loud, did i say loud,i meant LOUD !!! . Not sure of the bodywood but the neck is maple with a satin finish and it has a rosewood board. The bridge and tuners are Gotoh. It has seperate volume controls for each pup and 2 band EQ.The amount of bass this thing makes is incredible and it'll also mwaaaah with the best of 'em. Roll back the neck pup and there's some very tasty stingray tones going to be had,the neck pup can be allmost P with a tweak of the eq. The build quality is first class as you'd expect from headway, the neck is perfect, its very slim indeed and there's no fretwear at all,the truss rod works fine. The not quite so good. The pickguard is missing,it was like that when i bought it but it didnt bother me TBH,i kinda like it the way it is.There's a ding or two here and there, nothing major but it does have some mojo. I had Nick Carey appraise it earlier this year.He was very impressed with it,he prefered the tone and the EQ to a stingray and said the build quality was very good also.I'm sure if you asked nicely he'd be happy to confirm. Our resident Jap expert pointed me in the direction of Similar Riverhead bass, albeit a single H for sale in the states at over $900. Sooooooo if anyone fancies a punt at something a bit out the ordinary i promise you that you will not be dissapointed. I can get sound clips if you need them,i'll just have to bug Nick for them. I'd like 400 of your english pounds please squire.I paid a bit more than that so to save me putting 450 and messing about offers thats what it is. I have more photo's if you want 'em,ask and ye shall recieve.
24. Thanks for the offers for trades but as ive not seen anything i fancy yet I've decided that my beloved Sterling and me can part company. As the first post she's in immaculate condition from head to toe and to my eye at least you'll struggle to find a nicer example than this. With the 3 band eq and the 5 way switch she's not just eye candy but very versatile to boot. The 5 way switching is; 1 (coils 1+2) stingray... i guess 2 (1+phantom) Mwaaaaagh 3 (1+2+3) oooh baby 4 (2+3) jazz on steroids 5 (3+phantom) not far off a P Comes with MM card case .......and the now very famous MM polishing cloth.ooooooooh ! I'm looking near as damn it £850 +postage.serious offers will be considered. ps,i know all about the "credit crunch" I have more foto's if anyone wants more, jus' let me know.
25. Cheers Kev.
