2. The Boss Dr Groove's pretty cool if you something thats a bit different.
3.
... if you just want simple 4:4 beats though, can't fault it!
there ya go
4. i got a link to THIS via a recent thread on BC. its pretty good and it should put you on till you get a machine.its a freebie btw. hope it helps.
5. Classic Lo right there, thats a cool line aint it,good job.....again. ive been dabblin' with the one finger approach on grapevine-gettin' there slowly.
6. FWIW my last jazz was a signature.if the other pups you have are the ones that come stock in the sig bodies then yes, they do sound great. good luck with the sale.
7. nick carey recommended "music reading for bass-the complete guide" by Wendi Hrehovcsik.its a hal leonard series book. Its great for learning notation, playing in all the keys, fret board learning, the rhythm coaching is excellent, especially the for dotted notes and 16ths. i got mine here quick delivery as well.
8. slightly different scenario but, i bought a MM sterling from the states in early December last year.My sister who lives in San-Diego was due to fly home for a xmas visit.I had the bass sent to hers and Bro in-law brought it over as 1 of the 2 bags your allowed each.No duty or Vat,happy days. it might be different if you're a UK citizen though but i'd say that the bass will be fine in its case.

11. bump.now open to offers.
12. i have a set of "fitted to see what they look like, twanged for no more than 5 minutes" DR coated extra life strings in a very tastefull PEACOCK BLUE sat here.free to good home if anybody wants 'em,.....i want postage tho' off course,i mean c'mon ! cos im that kinda guy
13. Although i would NEVER try and get away with it also...........i ..ahem,sorry,i mean a friend of mine gets a lot of stuff from the states,he avoids UPS like the plague and always gets things shipped via USPS global priority,he finds that with smallish parcels more often than not his friendly neighbourhood posty delivers it and does'nt ask for any import charges thankyou very much.
14. i had a set of(well apart from the g-string)Thomastik jazz flats lying around.i took BB's advice and fitted them on my P and i like the results a lot more on that bass than i did on my jazz.My P had d'addario flats on,i like those too but to me TI's are a little sweeter/brighter sounding.Ive ordered the "g" today from strings direct. edit, after a bit more time with them im really impressed with the Thomastiks. They've opened the midrange a treat, its more growly than with the d'addarios and the bass notes are richer and more rounded.Slap tone is really good and very punchy as well.
15.
If nickels is what you want, then you might wanna try DR Sunbeams. They're compressed strings so have more mass than the gauge would indicate. To me, it gives more presence. The strings also have a nice subtle growl to them which lasts a long time and is even present unplugged. Bloody expensive (though there's a seller in eBay from the States doing them cheap), but really really good strings.
thank you kindly sir,i do like the DR's
16. Cheers BB i have a set of TI's but i cut the "G" to try them on my MM sterling DOH,no good for the p now. As the man says-thanks for the info ps, i ordered the half flats so cheers for that bob, £14 shipped from the US.not so bad. BB i think ill try a set of TI's in the meantime.thanks again
17. cheers bob, i knew i could count on you.
18. hey all. i have an Ibanez blazer ala burpster.its fitted with flats at the mo'.I'd like to brighten the tone a wee bit but roundwound stainless strings are a bit OTT for my taste on this bass(tried 'em). I fancy trying a set of nickels so i'm hoping some of you will have used of them on a p bass.I dont have a fortune to spend trying out a myriad of different makes so if you have experience of them i'd appreciate your comments/suggestions. thanks in advance.
19. glad to be of service
20. my mate has the four string version and it sounds truly wonderfull.he's a great player, one of those young gifted b*st**ds that you hate.he plays funk mainly so im sure you'll find it very agreeable.i had a quick go on it and it felt great, even to my untrained hands you could tell you'd strapped on something special. ive just got of the phone with him and here's the spec for his, whether or not they're all the same tho' i cant be sure it has a swamp ash body with flame maple top, ovankol neck and wenge(apparently very rare) fingerboard, bell brass frets(supposed to last forever) special truss rod,he did say but i cant remember exactly 3 band active eq with mm and jazz pickups. hope this helps. cheers, pete.
21. there's a piece on him in this months bass player magazine.........if that helps.
