Hi Folks, Just a heads up really. I've often struggled to find a decent amp tech around these parts and I think I've come up trumps. He's in Preston, close to the M-way junction in Fulwood,Preston. My SVT3pro was suffering form low volume distortion, a common problem with the biasing on the mosfets on that amp apparently. Took it over to the chap and got it back in two days and the charge was £20 to sort it. The head sounds great now, I'm well chuffed with it. He services/repairs all types of valve/SS amps, PA gear etc.His name name is David Pye and I'd be happy to pass on his details via PM. Cheers.

Hi Folks, I have an old 2 pedal Trace Elliot footswitch for the pre shape and graphic on the Trace. Will I be able to use it with my Ampeg SVT3pro for the Graphic and Mute functions ?? It has what looks like a stereo 1/4" jack, Tip/Ring/Ring. Thanks in advance.

Go to the "advanced" search on ebay and type his user name in the ebay members bit. I found him that way.

My 44-02 "Maple board" has too much treble for me. I usually have to back it down to about 1/4 with the amps set flat. I use Nickels to try and tame it even further. Maybe some zingy SS rounds is the way to go.

I let a bass go with my lovely old DR Sunbeams on. Silly me as the older they get the better I like 'em. I put a wanted ad up for some used Sunbeams and Pete came up trumps. He sent them first class, they arrived next day and all he asked was that I make a donation to BC. What a true gent if ever there was one !! +1 for TI Flats on an Ibanez, I have 'em on my Blazer and they're fab !! Really nice strings to play,warm sounding and great for diggin' in. Loves 'em I does.

Ya finally find your tone !! Going on from a recent thread, I've spent quite a while and "a quite few more dollars" trying to find my sound . Long story short, I bought and sold a couple of things last week in a last ditch attempt and ... P Bass with D'Addario Chromes, Ampeg SVT 3-Pro and a Barefaced Big One Sweet Baby Jesus !! Yessserreeee

Fair play to the guy, if it was my pub I'd do the same However..... The last three gigs I've done, Sex on Fire has earned me a cool £13 and 69pence...
