  1. Ashdown FreeBASS wireless system designed for bass..  with upgraded jack cable. Better pictures on demand!

FreeBASS was the first UHF diversity wireless system designed and engineered specifically for bass guitar.

Unlike conventional wireless systems, FreeBASS overcomes the difficulty of reproducing faithfully the low frequencies and high dynamics typical of a bass guitar signal over a wireless link. The result is a system that allows bassists the same freedom on stage that guitar players and vocalists have enjoyed for some time, without having to compromise on tone.

Another unique feature is a Modelling control on the receiver that selects between 16 DSP-enhanced bass settings, adding sonic versatility to an already outstanding bass wireless system.

Both the receiver and transmitter feature large, backlit displays and an intuitive menu system for controlling functions including frequency selection, sensitivity and muting. The rear panel of the receiver provides an unbalanced jack output for connection to a bass amplifier, and a balanced XLR output for direct connection to The PA..

  2.

Having recently acquired a Beautiful natural MM Stingray, this great bass just does not get the use it truly deserves.

The G&L L-2000 tribute series bass guitar was designed by Leo fender and is an amazingly flexible sounding bass in both active and passive modes..

    Body wood-ash - natural finish
Neck wood-hard rock maple and maple fretboards
G&L MFD humbucking active pickups with a volume, treble, bass, tri tone system with 3 way selector, series/parallel switch and a 3 position preamp mode switch. Incredibly versatile instrument. No dings and in immaculate condition. I think the serial number indicates build date of Sept 2019..... ??

Can deliver, within reason, in Essex or West Suffolk for fuel consideration! Am located in Frinton On Sea, but gig throughout the region..

Am open to a trade for a decent / equivalent 5 string

  3. Update - Used my repaired 121 last weekend in a rooftop open air gig in front of several hundred enthusiastic folk - via PA of course. Took a risk to do without backup but having listened to the videos, the tone and sound was immense. However, I definitely was nervous about whether the combo would crap out. Not the best way to perform! Tightrope with no safety net!

  4. My reliable GB built Ashdown ABM Combo is up for grabs. Cosmetically needs tarting up but wonderfully solid UK built Ashdown quality. Only minor technical issue is the push switch for the pre/post eq. Moving on as I have moved to ABM 500w via 410  + 212 cabs but this baby will fill the room of any pub or club.. Great mid / entry level combo. Collection from North Essex preferred, though I do gig in the region as far as East side M25

I've never heard of this; are you sure your memory is correct? Markbass changed from class AB to class D power amps sections in 2012 but that was an evolution not because of any known issues.

Yes my memory is spot on and also confirmed across the markbass forum. It was addressed in the second generation version..

  6. I was about to push the button for a replacement when I got a call from Essex Amp Repairs - they fixed mine - they were as surprised as me.... 90 day warranty so I may be back! Just collected - 60 mile round trip and tested as working. Controller switch was the problem...

Hey, sorry for the late reply - I had covid and things have been a bit sketchy. Although my problems stopped short of the amp actually cutting out, I did find a solution, albeit an expensive one. I bought a new second hand amp, the same MB combo (am I crazy?). I had it shipped to my bandmate's house in Birmingham (we do most of our gigs in the Midlands), used it at a gig last month and it was great. Amp no.1 is playing nicely at the moment for practice - if it starts getting crotchety again I turn all the knobs back and forth several times, and that gets rid of any unwanted crackling. I also have it sitting on a chair for added clarity when practicing. I don't know if that's that helpful to you really... Maybe I should have been twice shy after being bitten, but I love the MB sound - to me it is a wonderful blank canvas.

Did you get yours back from Essex Amps, and if so what was their verdict?

Likewise, apologies for delay in response. My buddies at Essex Amp Repair appear to be having problems making contact with distributor / parts. Transpires that I need a replacement power module......
